Telegraph, Revenues, Perfins. From the "back of the book", some very overlooked material which includes some reference material to help you find the way. The 95 Telegraph stamps were used between 1880 and the early 1900’s and start with Indian stamps overprinted Ceylon. These include some provisional issues (with overprints up to 5 rupees) and later government printings. Mounted on pages, identified, and organized by Hiscocks catalogue (1982). An enclosed article indicates that the overprint quantities for the first issue ran from 100-35,000 copies, making these very scarce items. These telegraph stamps are some of the few revenue stamps listed by Stanley Gibbons and these tally up to £816.85 = $1396.81 CDN. The traditional revenues are represented by 9 stamps, and then another 11 regular issue stamps with revenue cancels or hole punch. The corporate security issues include 5 stamps with perfins and another 6 (plus a postal stationery wrapper cut square) with company overprints, most being from HW Cave & Co. Estimate =
