The bombing of Bradbury Wilkinson’s British plant in WWII resulted in the production of the 2c, 3c, and 50c denominations being completed by De La Rue, that resulted in a number of perforation varieties, some of which are quite scarce. This grouping includes the 2c (#278) and the four Scott listed perforation varieties (#278a-#278d). The examples of #278, #278a, #278b are mint (never hinged or very lightly hinged) and the other two are used. The 3c comes with seven varieties (4 used and 3 mint). The 50c denomination includes six perforation combinations, including lovely mint copies of #286a, and #286c. We finish off this page of King George VI variants with the five denominations from this set that are known with upright watermarks. A very difficult to assemble grouping. 2023 Scott US$577.50 =
