Switzerland. An outstanding mourning cover collection, consisting of 97 covers and folded letters sent between 1841-2005. Besides being an incredible accumulation showing different styles and types of mourning envelopes and notices, there is some great postal history here. Noted a number of "Seated Helvetia", "William Tell", a couple with postage due stamps and great cancels including small town, "Ambulant" and militia usages. There are also some interesting "one off" usages such as semi-postals and better commemoratives. Includes some modern notices, indicating that this format of communication has been in use until recently. Expect some faults, but the overall condition is better than average. Estimate =
