Mint Never Hinged Motherlode of horizontal and vertical IDENTICAL PAIRS of the 1970 issue 5c and 6c Christmas stamps. Due to the odd geometric se-tenant layout of the Christmas issue sheets of 100, numerous combinations including strips, pairs and blocks could be potentially formed. The scarcest multiple is the identical center block of four but vertical and horizontal pairs are also scarce. This lot includes multiple examples of identical vertical and horizontal pairs including the key 5c "Children Skiing" and 6c "Children and Christmas Tree". All laid out on six stock sheets. Mostly regular issues, some Winnipeg Tagged types were also noted in the mix. A hard group to assemble, dealers rarely have any stock of these Unitrade and Darnell catalogue listed varieties.
