Includes a number of nice cancels and better stamps such as New South Wales #B1 nicely used on piece. There are a couple of cards with used Australian postage dues, some mint sheets from the 1940’s and #365 (the sheet used to produce booklet panes, complete with gutters). Noted a couple of booklets, including the Eureka prestige booklet, about 40 copies of the 1995 Koala joint issue souvenir sheet, a 1989 hardcover year set and a half dozen 1970’s presentation packs. Estimate = $180.00 $75.00
Australia - A pair of binders with First Day Covers, presentation folders, prestige booklets, etc. from the past 50 years. Better items include the $10.00 Art issue, the QEII "Long may she Reign" and "Elvis" prestige booklets. Lots of souvenir sheets, sets, blocks, etc. as recent as 2017. Includes some Australian Antarctic Territory and joint country issues - and that is just the first binder. The second album is a Uni-Safe cover album has about 90 first day covers from 1980 to 2001 with some sets, singles, souvenir sheets, postal stationery, joint issues, and higher values (e.g. $10.00 garden souvenir sheet). Enormous original cost. Estimate = $150.00 $65.00
Australia - This big "D"-ring binder holds about 70 Vario-brand stockpages with a confusing accumulation of "everything Australia". Somewhere in here are a couple of pages of "States", some "Roos" and GeoV "Heads". The rest of the sterling era is a mix of mint and used, sorted chronologically. The Decimal era is partially chronological, partly by denomination, with more used than mint (and with quantities up to 10 of a kind), this is an extensive collection that runs into the early 2000’s, with lots of medium to high values. There are bits of Antarctic Territory and other administrated Islands, plus the 1981 and 1982 Australian year books. While there is not tons of mint material, there is still over A$60.00 in usable face value, not counting the modern mint "Specimen" overprints. There could easily be more hiding here. Estimate = $160.00 $42.00
Australia and States - A Down-Under disaster. The Australian material is mostly used, with a Stanley Gibbons album with pages to 1990 holding several hundred different. Complementing this is a group of manila stocksheets, a dealer’s packet stock nicely sorted in envelopes (Scott #2/#991), a few remnants from bidboard lots and retired circuit books. There is a touch of modern mint here, including a couple of hardcover year sets as well as the infamous 1988 Australian Bicentennial booklet set. Some Cocos (Keeling) Islands slipped in here, with a large handful of heavily duplicated presentation folders circa 1979. Oh yeah - the States (which are possibly the best part of this lot) include a page of attractive Tasmania, plus a couple of album pages and a double-sided page from a small stockbook with items from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and more Tassie. Enjoy bringing this under control. Estimate = $200.00 $85.00
Australian States - New South Wales #19 OFFICIAL REPRINT. VF mint no gum OFFICIAL REPRINT of the 1855 issue 6p brown imperf Victoria, plate II. Clear margins on all sides. The stamp has all the descriptive attributes as noted in Scott footnotes (no floreate ornaments to the right and left of "SOUTH" and the wreath has been retouched). The original stamp catalogues for US$5,750.00 (= $7,762.50 CDN). Estimate = $200.00 $36.00
Austria #3/592, B1/B285, C1/C60, J1/J259, M1/M82, MB1-MB3, MP1-MP4, P1/P55, PR2/PR9, QE1/QE8. Extensive pre-1955 mint and used specialized collection, nicely presented on over 40 Vario-brand black stockpages (5-8 strips). The early issues are mostly used, with different shades, types and perforations easily laid out, with many having readable cancels. Individual items with catalogue values between $10.00-$100.00 each are found throughout. Around the end of WWI, more mint appears (most are Hinged, but there are Never Hinged as noted by the collector). The "back of the book" is equally expansive with quality offerings of semi-postals, airmail, postage due, military and newspaper stamps. Bonus material includes a few reprints, fantasy and revenues. Grab your specialized catalogues, because offerings like this don’t come around often. Estimate = $500.00 $180.00
Austria Occupation Offices - A specialized collection with offices in Italy (Trieste, Venezia), Crete, Turkish, Lombardy-Venetia and Romania on eleven black stockpages. Includes easy to follow identification of different printings (e.g. "coarse" or "fine", with or without "varnish bars"). Sometimes there is a mint and used example, with the occasional reprint. Overall quality is excellent, expect the mint stamps to be Hinged. Includes better such as Crete #22 used ($150.00), and Lombardy #12 ($115.00) and #24 ($200.00). Over 400 stamps in total. Estimate = $250.00 $160.00
Bahrain #1/80. Mixed mint Hinged and used selection of 1933 to 1951 GeoV and GeoVI period issues. Some light duplication noted but an elusive group of overprints on the stamps of India and Great Britain. 2024 Scott US$309.00 = $417.15 $75.00
Basutoland #15/100. Very Fine mint Hinged selection of 42 different 1937 to 1965 period issues, all in complete sets. Nice mix of GeoVI and early QEII material. 2024 Scott US$239.80 = $323.75 $85.00

There is a near complete mint set of German occupation issues with the "Eupen" overprint, followed by some Vario pages with random issues. The Belgian Congo includes a few pages with mounted issues and a mint sheet file with about a dozen mint panes (most in excellent condition with a catalogue value exceeding $300.00). Estimate = $140.00 $70.00
Bosnia #14/70. Specialized town postmark collection 1900-1912 with about 800 stamps, mounted by stamp and then alphabetical order on 36 album pages. Individually identified, with a bit of duplication, and sometimes more than one cancel type for a town, with some Military Post Offices represented as well. An old holding, very difficult to reproduce. Comes with a photocopy of the "Checklist of Town Cancels of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1878-1918)" - 1992 edition by Tenczar. Estimate = $250.00 $90.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #1/10a. Specialized collection of first "Coat of Arms" issue, with the denominations in the upper corners. Clearly identified by Michel, Stanley Gibbons and Scott, this grouping can take your collection to the next level. Mint, used, colour shades, various perforations, "types", cancels, reprints, multiples and a couple of "favour" productions. Over 600 stamps here, noting non-specialized catalogue values of up to $30.00 a stamp. Don’t wait for the next one, as we don't see this material often. Estimate = $240.00 $48.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #1/127 plus Back of the Book. The duplicates, overflow or stock from the fantastic, specialized collection that we have been offering. Consistent with the rest of the collection, the duplicates are neatly organized, easily identified (including for mint Hinged, Never Hinged and used), with different printings, papers, shades, etc. It could be the basis of another specialized collection. Up to about 25 of a type, with individual stamps cataloguing up to $30.00 each. Decent condition and securely stored on 40 manila stockpages. Estimate = $200.00 $110.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #1/127. B1-B20, J1/J26, P1-P4, QE1-QE2. A near-complete, clean offering on Scott Specialty pages. Includes a mix of mint (Hinged) and used, with most sets being complete. Shows some different perforations, and almost every issue is well represented, including the back of the book. Fresh and attractive. Total 2023 Scott US$695.70 = $939.20 $100.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #11/29. Coat of Arms issue with denominations (both white and black), in lower corners and heraldic eagle. This specialized collection includes a basic mint set (this alone catalogues $450.00), followed by different perforations, reprints, used examples, different papers, reprints, imperforates, proofs, colour shades favour items (usually unusual mixed perforations), multiples, even a page with blocks of forgeries. Over 300 stamps which will have you using your Scott Classic, Michel and other specialized catalogues. Fortunately, the owner has clearly identified the material. The type of material and level of specialization that we never see. Estimate = $400.00 $120.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #11/29. Imperforates and die proofs on two stock pages. Missing only the three key values, but covering 11 of the 14 denominations of the 1900 Coat of Arms with the denominations in the lower corners (in white) are represented, as are all five denominations of the 1901-1904 printings with the denominations in black. All on gummed paper of issue, including some selvage. The five die proofs of the black numeral issue are printed in black ink on a very thin card, and each is stamped on the back "MW". Balkan eye candy to spice up your collection. Estimate = $180.00 $90.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #30/64. Specialized "Landscape" issue of 1906-1912 on 14 Vario-brand stockpages. You will need a Scott Classic, Michel or Stanley Gibbons to keep some order to this collection, but the collector has done an excellent job to help you understand what is here. Starting with a basic mint and used set, followed by an imperforate set (both mint and used) and a complete used set of the perf 9 1/4. The "Birthday Jubilee" issue is missing the 2Kr value from both mint and used sets, and the later values include a mint set and imperf set and a set with switched colours. There are some red cancels, some revenue punched. On the proof side, there is a near complete set of imperforate proof singles in black, on ungummed stamp paper. Finally, there is a group of singles and blocks of the lower values that are in both similar and different colours than actually issued, which may be colour trials. Expect most of the mint to be Hinged and there is a bit of duplication, including some better, such as a mint Never Hinged block of #45a (catalogues $240.00). Estimate = $300.00 $150.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #65/85. Emperor Franz Josef issue of 1912 to 1914 in a lovely, specialized collection, some of which is beyond the listings of Scott Classic. Interestingly, there isn’t a complete mint basic set of these stamps, but there is lots of mint singles (most Hinged, some Never Hinged). The used does include a complete used set, as well as extra (stamped) used singles (such as two extra copies of the #85 high value, cataloguing $125.00 each). The collection includes a smattering of different perforations, and noted a stained 10Kr in slate green, which might be a colour trial, but possibly a changeling. Basic Scott Classic catalogue value will be several hundred dollars, with potential beyond that. Estimate = $160.00 $65.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #86/140. Final four issues from Bosnia and Herzegovina: a specialized offering. The reworked Franz Josef issue includes a mint Hinged and a complete used set, PLUS, a set of imperforate singles (Scott $260.00), and a second set of imperf singles with the stamps in different colours than issued. The first Karl I section catalogues $450.00 in Scott Classic and includes a mint and a used set, plus mint perforation varieties #105a, 105b, 116a and a very attractive set of imperforate singles. The 1918 overprint duo takes up a full page with mint, used, inverted, doubled, etc. and different perforations beyond the scope of Scott Classic. The last page is the final Karl I set of 1918, cleanly mint, missing the very valuable 1Kr denomination. A terrific offering. Estimate = $200.00 $140.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #B1/B20, P1/P4, QE1-QE2. Specialized collection of semi-postals, newspaper and special delivery issues. We noted various overprint types and plating studies on the "Landscape" issues (including two panes of 50 that were still in their original packaging from an auction house). The Franz Josep issues include better types, in both mint and used examples (catalogue up to $100.00 each in Scott Classic). There are mint, Never Hinged, imperforate pairs of the 1917 anniversary of the Archduke Ferdinand (catalogue $180.00), as well as a set of mint singles, double prints and a lovely group of 14 colour trials. B18-B20 are found in imperforate singles, and possible trial colours, including singles and pairs in grey. The Newspaper stamps are found mint and used, as well as a set of forgeries. There is some duplication and multiples that aren’t mentioned here. An outstanding lot. Estimate = $300.00 $95.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #J1/J13. Specialized postage due collection neatly mounted and annotated on Vario-brand stockpages. Includes lots of mint, such as a basic set of the perf 12 1/2 and imperforate sets (these catalogue $400.00 in Scott Classic). There are different perforations, gums, printings, followed by some equally nice used examples. Even includes a glassine with some stamps that the collector hadn’t gotten around to organizing. About 300 stamps, with significant catalogue values as well as a high degree of difficulty to assemble. Estimate = $200.00 $190.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #J1f-J13f. Set of mint (mostly) Never Hinged postage due pairs of the unusual 9 1/4 x 12 1/2 perforation. Fresh, reasonably centered, and all Never Hinged, with the exception of one of the 8h values, which is Lightly Hinged and one of the 10h values which has the slightest of gum disturbances. Perfect as they come or you can break them up and recover some of your investment. 2023 Scott Classic US$879.50 = $1,187.33 $210.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina #J14/J26. Final postage due set of 1916-1918, with a complete mint Hinged and used set, plus 9 of the 13 denominations mint Never Hinged and a complete mint set of imperforate pairs (the latter are ever so Lightly Hinged). About as nice as you are going to get! Total 2023 Scott Classic US$523.20 = $706.32 $160.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina - Massive town cancel collection, on stamp or piece, sorted by town, by cancel type and then by date. The first binder has 35 Vario-brand stock pages (most are 7-8 strip), with space left for missing items. A wide range of stamps are found here, including "back of the book". There are a few pages at the end with cut squares from used parcel cards. The second, smaller, binder contains 11 more Vario stockpages and a manila stockpage of "extras" but these cancels are strictly from Sarajevo. Overall, a few hundred stamps from many dozens of different post offices. Given the other collections from this collector, expect the condition to be high quality, the descriptions to be accurate and better items to be lurking. Comes with a cerlox-bound copy of Tenczar’s 1992 version of the "Checklist of Town Cancels of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1878-1918)" - unchecked. A true labour of love and almost impossible to duplicate. Estimate = $250.00 $180.00
Bosnia and Herzegovina - This very organized and methodical specialized collector ended up with a bunch of purchases from dealers and auction houses that he never got around to processing. There are mounted collections, dealer cards, stock pages covering the full range of issues, including "back of the book". Some were purchased for their cancels, some are sets, some are collections. The only consistency is that there is disorganization here, some duplication, and the potential for better items. If you want to test your proficiency and knowledge of Bosnian material - this is your chance. Offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $140.00
Brazil #1886. Feverish purchase: the second half. This 1983 souvenir sheet with a 376cr face value honours the 100th anniversary of the death of Louis Breguet, noted for his early work with telegraphs, and fittingly shown with both telegraph lines as well as a transmitter. Because they are now over 40 years old, we have replaced most of the rubber bands, otherwise this is just as purchased. Each glassine has 10 copies, each bundle has 10 glassines and there are 10 bundles. Total 1000 very fine mint Never Hinged souvenir sheets. 2023 Scott $7500.00 = $10,125.00 $85.00

The original "new issue" cost of these prepared and subscription based thematic collections was massive, particularly by 1970s and 1980s standards. Estimate = $425.00 $150.00

The first part consists of an extensive mostly mint selection of hundreds of neatly organized and laid out Commonwealth country/colony sets and singles with particular strength in Australia, New Zealand and Grenada but with very decent representation of dozens of other countries from all areas of the globe. Also of note is a two volume Stanley Gibbons GB album containing hundreds of mint and used stamps, 1841 to 1984 period issues. The GB collection is a bit sparse in the earlier material but still contains a good number of $100.00+ catalogue value singles. All still laid out on the consignor's original index-type stock cards to facilitate inspection. 2024 Scott US$1,532.70 = $2,068.20 $150.00

British Commonwealth - Two volume colonies collection, mostly QV to GeoV on decades old quadrilled album pages. Hundreds of stamps, including a mix of mint and used, with some medium to higher denominations and individual stamps with catalogue values up to $100.00. Typically, there are 1-3 pages for a country (as they hadn’t issued many stamps to that point). Some different printings identified and lovely cancels everywhere, with some minor duplication. We noted Antigua, Bechuanaland, Bahamas, Barbados, Ceylon, Cyprus, Gold Coast, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, Mauritius, Natal, some very attractive Australian states, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Straits Settlements, and more! No Canada GB Australia New Zealand or India. Note: as with many of these old-time holdings, identification and condition can be mixed, so use a critical eye. Estimate = $250.00 $425.00
British Commonwealth - Your willingness to bring order to this stack of randomness will pay dividends! In order of appearance: Great Britain issues up to 2010 (over £60 face value), West Indies, Falklands, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Gilbert and Ellice Islands, Disney (a number of different colonies), Tanzania, Fiji, Ascension, Pitcairn, etc. There is even a roll of Tonga banana issue #225 (over $200.00 catalogue value alone). The lot leans towards mint, and Elizabethan, but there are exceptions to this throughout. A wonderful lot to break apart for the collector or show / internet dealer. Estimate = $180.00 $100.00
British Guiana #17/299. Great collection for the specialist, with strength in Queen Victoria era issues. Great range of "Seal of the Colony", but keep a critical eye as a few of the items are obvious forgeries (which we haven’t counted). There are revaluations, officials overprinted and "Specimen" perforated stamps repurposed for usage. The KGV, KGVI and early QEII issues are more used than mint, but often include used examples of the higher values. Bit of duplication, and a small page of cards and glassines which are not counted in the owner’s catalogue value. 2023 Scott US$2259.00 = $3,049.65 $260.00
British Guiana / Guyana - Mint and Used collector's arrangement of British Guiana (89 stamps) and Guyana (78 stamps) neatly arranged and identified on stockpages. Expect a few faulty stamps in the earlier material, with most of the earlier mint being Hinged, with the later material Never Hinged. Owner's 2022 Scott US$648.10 = $874.95 $85.00
Burma - An assortment of a few hundred stamps on several pages and about 100 covers, create this somewhat messy but interesting assortment of material filling a small box. Noted Burma / India usage, overprints, Japanese occupation etc. In need of a good sort, but should prove rewarding with a bit of philatelic leg-work. Estimate = $180.00 $70.00
Burma and Bhutan - Mounted Burma collection with a couple hundred mint and used stamps from 1937-1974 including overprints, WWII-era issues and a bit of "back of the book". The Bhutan is a wholesale lot of INPEX ’73 overprinted souvenir sheet #155G-H, the airmail issue duo imperforate with 60 mint Never Hinged examples (these alone catalogue US$390.00 in Scott). A nice India-adjacent grouping from two countries that have remained popular with collectors. Estimate = $130.00 $50.00
Canada #4 Cover. Stunning #4 pair on cover, posted from Montreal on March 13th 1857. The stamps which are 2/3 margin examples are tied by the Montreal 4-ring number "21" postmark, with the pair paying the double rate to Toronto. An attractive usage and an exceptional example of Pence stamps on cover. The Wilson / Firby Posted Letter Guide (2nd Edition 2001) values the 6d double rate using 2x 3d stamps at $800.00 (as fine). Estimate = $500.00 $450.00
Canada #4 Cover. VF 4-margin example of the 3d "Beaver" pence issue, on early "Money Letter" folded cover from Perth UC (Upper Canada) to Guelph. The "Money Letter" was the earliest form of registered mail in Canada, with the sender paying the Money Letter fee in cash, in addition to the regular postage needed. A wonderful example of early Canadian registered mail. The Wilson / Firby Posted Letter Guide (2nd Edition 2001) values the 3d rate PLUS Money Letter paid in cash at $1000.00 (as fine). Estimate = $500.00 $450.00

Owner's 2024 Scott US$1,520.00 = $2,052.00 $130.00
Canada #14, 14a Plus Extras Study Lot. Used group of twenty 1c Victorias from the 1859 "First Cents" issue, selected at random from an old-time hoard. Unchecked for shades, papers, perfs or plate varieties. Generally sound and Fine or better, but expect the odd small fault in a lot of this type. A great assemblage of these popular classics, perfect for the student of early Canadian issues. Apart from the regular issues there is a decent sampling of Back of the Book material including early airmails, postage dues, special deliveries etc. Expect a few faults, but still a very decent basis for expansion. 2024 Scott US$2,271.85 = $3,067.00 $95.00
Canada #14/20 The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Mixed condition used study lot of 1859 to 1869 issue "First Cents", consisting of #14 x 1, #17 (Shades) x 10, #18 x 3, #19 x 1 and #20 x 2. While you can expect some faults, none of the stamps have been checked for shades, papers, perfs or plate varieties. All valued as the basic Scott listed types. 2024 Scott US$4,025.00 = $5,433.75 $160.00
Canada #15. Nearly "Post Office" fresh and Fine/Very Fine mint full original gum Hinged example of the 1859 issue 5c vermilion "Beaver". A superior quality example of this well-known "First Cents" classic. 2024 Scott US$800.00 = $1,080.00 $220.00

The group includes a nice range of Small Queens, Jubilees, Leafs, Numerals, Xmas Maps, Edwards, Tercentenaries, Admirals, Scrolls, Arch/Leafs, War and Peace sets plus more, including commemorative sets, coils and imperfs. While the odd small fault is to be expected, there are more than enough Very Fine stamps in the selection to satisfy the quality conscious collector. This lot is the perfect mint Canadian starter collection for the collector who doesn't mind a bit of hinging. 2024 Scott US$3,308.10 = $4,465.95 $160.00
Canada #34/666. Older style, but near-new, Schaubek hingeless album with pages to 1975. An attractive, but a bit random grouping of mint and used issues. Doesn’t really get going until the Quebec issue (mint to 5c), followed by an almost complete mint set of "Admirals", GeoV "Scrolls" mint to the 12c (with a used Bluenose), low value Geo V "Arch" mint and the rest of the 1930’s issues (including back of the book) either mint or used. The GeoVI era includes mint examples of the Peace set / Fish dollar, followed by a number of "OHMS" and "G" overprints. The Elizabethan issues up to the Montreal Olympics are fairly complete and all mint. Some of the mint are Never Hinged (including the Admiral dollar), but are Lightly Hinged / Hinged with the minor faults here and there. Enormous catalogue value. Estimate = $300.00 $230.00

Stamps are in above average condition for holdings like this. 19th century researcher’s delight! Estimate = $200.00 $100.00
Canada - Small Queen, old-time holding of 675 stamps mounted on oversized pages. Mostly #37 and #41, but includes some 1c, 2c and 8c values. Mostly town cancels and lots of readable dates. Includes obvious potential for studying shades and perforations and varieties. Many in top condition, but expect the odd fault. Finding unpicked lots is getting harder and the catalogue value adds up quickly! Estimate = $200.00 $120.00
Canada #37,41. Ten stockpages filled with 887 used 3c Small Queens that are laden with cork and circular date cancels, but also with potential for students of shades, perforations and varieties. While a few minor faults can be expected, the overall condition is quite good. A past collector had started sorting into Ottawa vs. Montreal printings, but hadn’t gotten very far, so there is lots to explore here. Estimate = $200.00 $90.00
Canada #38a, 39b, 40c. Used trio of perf 11½ x 12 Small Queens, consisting of the 5c slate green, the 6c yellow brown and 10c dull rose lilac. 2024 Scott US$437.50 = $590.65 $110.00

Not your traditional "dealer stock" as this collector was only interested in selling his duplicates to help his fellow collector at local shows and stamp clubs in BC's interior. The items are "priced to sell" as you will see from the photos, and include many better items throughout. Perfect for the collector to fill in some gaps, or for the show / internet dealer to add some premium inventory. 93 Canada #288/363. Plate block study or dealer lot, with lots of better. While there is a bit of GeoVI and some commemoratives (e.g. fur trade, Capex, Pulp, Chemical), by far the most comprehensive is the Wilding issue (1c-6c plus the 15c Gannet) in many different plates, most in matched sets. We noted individual plate blocks with catalogue values to $15.00 each. A quick survey showed most to be lightly hinged, and overall centering and condition is above average. From the classic era of Canadian plate block collecting, and not often seen in this quantity (with up to 5 matched sets of an issue). While there are no tagged issues, this should prove to be a nice study group of the regular issues, unchecked for paper types. 2024 Unitrade = $1,911.50 $100.00

Includes an array of private cachets (including local productions) which run into the 1970’s, Canada Post cachets and some uncacheted. Where there is duplication, it is because there are different cachets. About 250 covers, including MPO (Military Post Office) cancels than you would not normally expect to see in a lot such as this. The first volume (1959-1963) need to be cleaned up, but removing the covers should address this. Otherwise the condition is good. Estimate = $130.00 $85.00

The 6c in the centre block does not have the "scratch through window" (scarcer and thus worth a 50% premium) and the 5c in the centre block has the "dot between M and A". Each VF MNH sheet is brilliantly pristine and lightly folded once (mentioned for the record). 2024 Unitrade = $584.00 $180.00

A "similar but different" offering of 1972-1995 high-value definitive plate block duos (and one trio), each being different from their similar looking counterpart by either printer or plate number. These "look-alikes" have gained extra traction over the years, with collectors looking to find these "extras" after completing the basic issues of the sets. Face value alone is $128.00. 2024 Unitrade = $432.50 $110.00
Canada #656, 657. VF mint Never Hinged matched sets of inscription corner blocks of the 1975 "Olympic Sculpures" high-values including the $1.00 "Sprinter" and $2.00 "Plunger". Post Office fresh and nice to get both matched sets at once. 2024 Unitrade = $180.00 $40.00

Includes a couple of "investment" portfolios, one being a Bileski creation of used 1960’s phosphor printings (fortunately this includes the 5c Cameo and Centennial Cello-paqs) and noted a TV shopping group offering of the 1897 Jubilees up to the 8c "mint" (the 8c has no gum, the 5c is likely regummed, but we did note the $150.00 "shopping channgel" price tag paid by the previous owner). There is an old Minkus album with a used collection, a Lighthouse "block" stockbook with 5c era plate blocks, as well as a few loose album pages and some random "back of the book". Despite what the start of this description will tell you, there is value here. Estimate = $160.00 $75.00
Canada - Canada Parliament Album with mint Elizabethan collection, mostly 1970-1990, all in collector-added black mounts. Good coverage, including a number of souvenir sheets, booklet panes, three different $5.00 stamps and some different perfs, minor errors etc. Great starter collection. There is a handful of pre-QEII mint Hinged, and a bit of "back of the book" including mint airmails not counted in the total face value. Conservatively value for the total face value of useable postage. Total face value = $540.81 $325.00
Canada - Collection from "Earlies to 2008" in an H.E. Harris album. A mostly used assembly, including a decent showing in QV era including a 10c Small Queen, 50c Widow Weeds (precancelled) and 20c QV Numeral. The collection gains steam post-1950 with a nice run of post-2000 commemorative issues and a smattering of "back of the book". While generally fine, expect a few faults, especially in the earlier material. While the album is in decent shape, the pages need to be reorganized as much of the modern is at the front of the album. Owner estimates there are 2600 stamps and a catalogue value of $3000.00. Estimate = $250.00 $85.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies/Locals: Mixed group of Lafreniere listed and unlisted fantasy productions, mostly those of S. Allan Taylor, the noted stamp forger. The group includes; the obscure and scarcer 1864 Grand Trunk Railway newspaper stamps x 3 (#cc6050); a selection of the 1864 International Letter Express labels (#CC6055); 1865 LeBeau City Post (#cc6100) and a Bankroft's City Express (#cc6080). Other items include a "Little Wanderer Aid Society" trio (unlisted in Lafreniere but attributed to Taylor); J. A. Nutter promotional labels (a Taylor competitor); an 1898 issue 25c McGreely's Express (#cc5490) and a small handful of others. An eclectic and interesting offering! Estimate = $150.00 $210.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1862 Ker's City Post. Comprehensive group of Lafreniere listed (#cc6010) Ker's City Post, early (1862) fantasy productions of S. 168 Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1864 British American College Stamps Plus Extras. All different selection of 14 Lafreniere listed (#cc6030) British American College Stamps (1864) fantasy stamps. Bogus productions of S. Allan Taylor, the noted stamp forger and based on the genuine College stamp of the British American Commercial College of Toronto operated by Musgrove and Wright. Also included are three B. S. & Co Montreal, also Taylor items (#6040) and two other single "College" stamps. The #cc6030 British American College Stamps are valued at $30.00 each in Lafreniere. Estimate = $200.00 $210.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1864 Winslow and Co Portland-Montreal Express. Lightly duplicated selection of 19 Lafreniere listed (#cc6060) Winslow and Co. Portland-Montreal Express (1864) fantasy stamps. Based on a real but bought-out former private Express carriage company, S.Allan Taylor, a noted stamp forger, saw an opportunity to lend some legitimacy to his spurious "cut-squares". Estimate = $200.00 $210.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1865 Baldwin's Railroad Postage. Colourful selection of 24 Lafreniere listed (#cc6070) Baldwin's Railroad Postage (1865) fantasy stamps. Bogus productions were offered for sale by E. Craig & R. Melvin, who were stamp dealers in St. John New Brunswick. S. A. Taylor soon got into the act and produced some of his own! A third type also existes and is included hers. Nice to have all three Lafreniere listed types. Estimate = $200.00 $210.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1865 Bancroft's Express. Duplicated selection of 21 Lafreniere listed (#cc6080) Bancroft's Express (1865) fantasy stamps. Probably the best known bogus production of S. Allan Taylor, the noted stamp forger. Arranged by the collector into "type" groups. Estimate = $200.00 $210.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Fantasies: 1865 Whitteley's Express. Comprehensive selection of 20 Lafreniere listed (#cc6090) Whitteley's Express (1865) fantasy stamps. Yet another bogus production of S. Allan Taylor, the noted stamp forger. The Whitteley's Express design is based on the earlier "Bancroft's City Express" equally spurious series of stamps. Lafreniere values these at $30.00 each (x 20 = $600.00). Estimate = $200.00 $230.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries/Paraphilately: Musgrove's National Business College Stamps. Lafreniere listed (#cc8610) group of all three (1c, 2c and 3c) 1860s issue "training" stamps produced for the Ottawa and Toronto based Musgrove's National Business College. These were produced for internal use to help teach business students the proper use of excise and bill stamps. The original collector noted that the 1c and 2c values (here in blocks of four) are "extremely rare". Estimate = $150.00 $160.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries: B. S. & Co. College Stamp. Unused tete-beche gutter block of 24 dull blue "Washington-ish portrait" bogus 1860s period B. S. & Co. (Bryant & Stratton & Co.) College stamp, probably produced by the prolific S. Allan Taylor in Montreal. Similar in format, size, colour and paper to other well-known Taylor fantasies that are Lafreniere listed. Maybe intended for the US market? Never seen this one before. Estimate = $150.00 $150.00
Canada - Fakes/Forgeries: Barnard Express Octet. All different group of eight dangerous fakes of "Barnard" Cariboo Express PAID or COLLECT private carriage labels. Barnard's Express was very important in BC during the 1861 Gold Rush and is very collectible. The originals come in a variety of primitive designs. Hence the plethora of forged labels. A "must have" lot for the historical BC collector. Estimate = $150.00 $160.00
Canada - Large accumulation of off-paper in a file box. The majority is Elizabethan era up to about the year 2000. Includes two shoeboxes with thousands and thousands of off-paper (one shoe box is "free range", the other has glassines and bundles). There are also two binders, one with mounted stamps, the other with manila stockpages with a couple thousand more stamps, including some earlier back to the Small Queen era (noted a Bluenose) and a touch of "back of the book". All as received. Estimate = $150.00 $30.00
Canada - Mint and Used Collection in Scott Canada Album. Collection of many hundreds of 1859 to 1972 period issues, mixed condition (expect a few faults in the earlies) mint and used, all housed in clear plastic mounts in a two post Scott album with pages to 1972. Noted used Small Queens, a few lower value Jubilees, useful Leafs and Numerals, good Edwards and then decent completion of the regular issues from GeoV on. The "back of the book" section is missing the highest value individual items but is still usefully complete in the lower values. The owner has "tagged" all the mint stamps with red (mint Never Hinged) or green (mint Hinged) stickers. Excellent candidate for expansion with significant total catalogue value. Estimate = $450.00 $120.00
Canada - Mint Medley on Vario brand pages. A compact group of Canada Post year 2000 and newer sheets, singles, inscription blocks and booklets. All neatly arranged on 30 like-new Vario stocksheets (1-3 lines). The pages alone would retail for over $50.00. Conservatively valued for the usable postage value only (with a smattering of used stamps not counted). Total face value = $401.19 $290.00
Canada - Mint Modern "High-Value" booklet grouping. A clean offering of 23 complete self-adhesive stamp booklets, all being either "USA" or "International" rates (high-values) with single booklet values up to $17.50. Many better topicals from the period including Lunar New Years, Christmas, Titanic, Churchill, curling, "Will & Kate" and Calgary Stampede (to name a few). Not catalogued, but conservatively valued for the total face value of usable postage. Total face value = $211.72 $150.00
Canada - Modern Mint Never Hinged "P" Stamp Souvenir Sheets. A wonderful almost all-different assortment of 50x modern Canadian souvenir sheets, all with "P" (permanent) value stamps. A couple of duplicates noted, but includes a wide range of popular Canadian issues such as Superman, Motorcycles, Chinatown Gates, Vancouver Olympics, Tourist Attractions, Art Deco, "Rush", Comedians and Photography (to name a few). While the catalogue value would be significantly higher, these have conservatively been valued for the total usable postage value alone. A grand total of 200x "P" stamps. Total face value = $198.00 $170.00
Canada - Needing low to medium value postage? These two collections, one small photo album and two baggies may be for you. The pair of albums (Scott to 1989 and Minkus 1975-1989) conservatively have $150.00 in mint stamps, with denominations to $5.00, including a number of souvenir sheets and partial and complete booklet panes. As a bonus, there is some used material back to Queen Victoria, some "back of the book" and even a few Duck booklets that are included but not counted. These mounted collections are accompanied by a photo album and two baggies which are filled with corner blocks from the 1950’s-1960’s, many being plate blocks, including matched sets, of which appear to be Never Hinged. Includes lots of Wildings, and some medium value items. Conservatively estimated at the estimated face value of the lot. Estimate = $200.00 $140.00
Canada - Several groups of used wholesale material, by the thousands, packed into a U-Haul box. There are five shoeboxes filled with 1950-2000 era in glassines properly identified by Scott, followed by a handful of full and half-full manila stocksheets, with more of the same. There is another group of stocksheets with slightly earlier material (e.g. Admiral, Scroll, Arch) with significant catalogue value. A couple of small stockbooks have used Canada going back even further, with a touch of "back of the book". To cushion the box, is a medium sized Ziploc bag with mostly used, on-paper, Canada from the GeoV War issue to the QEII Centennials. Estimate = $150.00 $55.00
Canada - Solid mostly mint basis for a mid-Elizabethan printing study that never got past the accumulation phase, with strength in Centennial and Caricature/Landscape issues. Includes regular issues plus variations in paper, ink, printing and tagging varieties (some still with Rose notations), and errors such as the "blind perforation" coil blocks. Most are loose in a pizza box, but there is some Centennials organized in a small "KEK" stockbook. Some of the varieties are listed in Unitrade, some are not. Estimate = $160.00 $160.00
Canada - Specialized Christmas Issue Collections. Kasimir Bileski, the Godfather of Canadian stamp marketing, tended to go a bit "off the rails" when it came to Christmas issues. Perhaps it was the wealth of formats (sheets, miniature panes and booklets) or the other varieties (Winnipeg or General tagging, paper fluorescence etc…) that caused hiim to go into marketing overdrive. Whatever the cause, here we have a group of Bileski prepared groups, all with or still in the original Bileski packaging. The lot includes Christmas issues from 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969 and finally (in all its crowning glory!) the se-tenant issues of 1970. The material includes comprehensive offerings of plate blocks, corner blocks, booklet panes (both left and right tab) and miniature panes (tagged and regular), se-tenant strips and more. The stamps are all either Very Fine mint Never Hinged or with Winnipeg First Day CDS postmarks. This entire group would have originally (over 50 years ago) cost several hundred dollars. Here's your chance to acquire, break down and analyze content and marketing strategy from the philatelic heyday of the "Wizard of Winnipeg"! Estimate = $200.00 $70.00
Canada - Stock of used "Edwards to 1999" arranged in "102" cards within four red boxes, stored in a medium sized box. A good working group, with stamps being represented by anywhere from a single copy, to dozens of examples. We did note an extensive section of "Back of the Book", itemized varieties and lots of postmark potential. A few mint blocks as well, but consider this a used Canada stamp windfall. Estimate = $200.00 $55.00
Canada - Two volume "White Ace" Canada deluxe padded albums, with pages from 1851-1992. A "better than average" collection of both mint (Hinged) and used stamps, in a premium set of albums (perfect for the collector that would rather use hinges). Starting with a showing of "Cents", there a few dozen pre-1900 issues included, but condition on these is a bit "hit or miss", the GeoV material is mix of mint and used, some of the mint is a bit stuck but the used includes wonderful examples of both the 50c "Bluenose" and $1.00 "Parliament". The post-1950 material looks to be exclusively mint, with the face value adding up (especially in Volume 2). A wonderful "foot in the door" collection, that is ready to be integrated in with an existing collection, or built upon. Estimate = $375.00 $170.00
Canada - Unitrade Listed "Pre-Packaged Stamps" Baker's Dozen. All intact and Very Fine quality all different group of thirteen of the scarce early 1964 to 1971 period Canada Post mint stamp packs (all Unitrade type 2 or type 4 packaging). The lot includes commemorative, Christmas and Tagged selections. As a bonus, the lot also includes two privately produced Sears/Carlton cards sticker and three stamp promotional packs (never seen these before). These early pre-packaged stamps are actually much scarcer than most of the annual collections or thematic packs. Overlooked and undervalued additions to your modern Canada collection. Estimate = $150.00 $260.00
Canada - Unity Stamp Album 1851-1987 including pages for "back of the book" and Provinces. The Victorian period is a bit sparse, but includes used examples of #15, Small Queens to 8, a few Jubilees, Leaf issue to 8c and a selection of QV numerals that include the 7c and 8c values. Post QV material is both mint and used, with primarily mint material from 1960 onwards. While this is not a "hingeless" album, the mint stamps have been placed into clear mounts on the pages to protect the gum. The back of the album features several stockpages with mint Never Hinged plate blocks. The usable postage value alone is $170.00, plus some better used and the album itself (which is in very good condition). Estimate = $200.00 $40.00
Canada - Used dealer stock in small glassines, arranged within 5 storage boxes (12" long). Spanning the catalogue numbers #135-563 (1917 to early 1970's), this grouping has not seen the light of day in many years. The organization was detail oriented, and includes stamps separated out for margins, tabs, different shades, coils, booklet stamps etc. A potential treasure trove in the 1967 QEII Centennial series, with many coil pairs / strips. Estimate = $200.00 $14.00
Canada - Vest-Pocket "show stock". A "double high" pizza box, stuffed with the show stock of a dedicated collector, that had the consideration of his fellow collector to put duplicates and packs out for sale at local shows and meetings. A well organized offering of pages with "102" cards, sets on cards, "all different" packages and First Day Covers. Spanning all eras, with both mint and used, this is a treasure trove for any collector to sort. If you take a look at the prices, these were priced to sell! Included with the lot is about one "handful" of Worldwide / British Commonwealth material. Offered as received. Estimate = $180.00 $190.00
Canada / Worldwide War Ephemera - World War II ephemera from both Allied and Axis forces. Includes three brochures with supplementary regulations related to communicating with Prisoners of War from enemy countries (includes postal information). There is a RCAF booklet for families about missing, killed or prisoners of war, three Canadian Red Cross publications and brochures, a US "safe conduct" pass for German soldiers willing to surrender and four German propaganda leaflets. The lot ends with three Canadian patriotic "mini-posters" about limiting talk or gossip. 16 items in total, not often seen. Estimate = $300.00 $210.00
Canada Cancels - 20th century Saskatchewan town cancel collection in three binders, covering "E" to "M" and "S" to "Z" Post Offices. Over 1000 different cancels, with circular date stamps, split rings, duplexes, rollers with a healthy mix of POCONs and some MOONs. Mounted on pages by Post Office, but this was a work in progress with many unmounted stamps and about 100 covers and postcards tucked into the page protectors awaiting further research and mounting. The cancels are almost universally easily readable. There is a relatively small amount of duplication, often showing different ink colours or progression in hammer wear. Estimate = $350.00 $95.00
Canada Cancels - Early Railway Post Office (RPO) cancel study on decades-old quadrilled pages. Total of 276 items, including 90 on Small Queens, 166 on other Victorian issues and 20 Edwardian/Quebec. There is nothing after 1912, with the routes being primarily Ontario, with a bit of Maritimes and Quebec (didn’t note any Western routes). All identified by Ludlow, with rarity factors, but there could be scarcer hammers lurking. While covers were removed a long time ago, the collection is essentially intact. Estimate = $200.00 $60.00
Canada Cancels - Two collections of Canadian cancel material within 1 binder. Consists of over 1,400 alphabetically sorted BC cancels on stamp and on stamp on piece, 1949 to recent, including closed and better Post Offices, duplication but lots of very nice strikes and good cancel type variety, plus a binder of over 230 QEII period duplicated slogan cancels on large and neatly trimmed pieces (lots of room for the full slogan as well as the date stamp). Estimate = $150.00 $110.00
Canada Covers #246/3056. First day covers in three albums and a mint sheet file. The first volume includes 115x 1950’s-1960’s FDCs in a Uni-Safe cover album, mostly Rosecraft cachets but noted a few others, all addressed (the few uncacheted covers are not counted). Volume two is 1965 to 1974 with some private and Canada Post cachets (many addressed). There is a big chronological jump to the last album which is mostly small sized souvenir sheets and Zodiac matched sets of plate blocks for issues between 2016-2018 - these have a face value of $143.70 (stamps only, no FDC premium, "P" stamps counted at .85 - the face value at the time of issue). These all are Canada Post cacheted and unaddressed. The mint sheet file has about 20 oversized first day covers from the 1990’s - most being the "Art" series in plate blocks - about another $60.00 in stamp face value here. Overall condition is quite good. Expect a bit of duplication. Estimate = $140.00 $85.00
Canada Covers #337/475. First Day Covers in shoebox, all #8 size and with cachet, all appear to be unaddressed. Almost all are Rose Craft, with many plate blocks (a couple are corner blocks) with MANY matched sets being indicated by the previous owner. Very clean, individually sleeved and identified. Much better condition than normally seen from this era. Approximately 340 covers. Estimate = $140.00 $180.00
Canada Covers #375/739. First Day Covers in orange shoebox, all #8 size and with cachet, only a few addressed. Most of the private cachets are ArtCraft, when there is duplication, it is often because the cachet is different (noted 2-5 different ArtCraft cachets on single issues). Lots of plate blocks, with other duplication is often being from different plate block corners. About half of the box is Canada Post cachets, noting the 15c Earth Sciences. Very clean, individually sleeved. Perfect for expanding your collection and using the duplicates to help fund your collection. Approximately 375 covers. Estimate = $140.00 $260.00
Canada Covers #376/628. Shoebox full of First Day Covers, all #8 size and with cachet, the majority are unaddressed. Almost all are Rose Craft and most are plate blocks examples with a number of matched sets indicated by the previous owner. Very clean, individually sleeved and identified. Much better condition than normally seen from this era. Some mild duplication. Approximately 280 covers in total. Estimate = $120.00 $160.00
Canada Covers #480/585. First Day Covers in shoebox, all #8 size with cachet, all but a couple appear to be unaddressed. Almost all are Rose Craft (a few Cole and Canada Post were seen). Most are plate blocks and many matched sets are indicated by the previous owner, including tagged issues. Very clean, individually sleeved and identified. Much better condition than normally seen from this era. Only a bit of duplication. Approximately 360 covers. Estimate = $140.00 $170.00
Canada Covers - A "War and Peace" George VI postal history offering. A total of 35 covers / postcards and one piece, with each item carefully selected by the previous owner to show some interesting aspect of mail during this period (not your average grouping!). Items of interest include POW mail, WWII Patriotic, Navy mail, FDC, Stamp Dealer mail, Censor, Special Delivery, First Flight Covers, Registered and Booklet Panes. Two of the most intriguing are an 1944 Armed Forces Air Letter from Winnipeg to the RAF in Ceylon (killed in action, returned, DLO) and a 1948 London squared circle cover from "late use" period. A postal historian's delight. Estimate = $300.00 $170.00
Canada Covers - Alaska Highway Postcard Collection. A collector's accumulation of 58 Alaska Highway postcards, including scenes of construction, USA transport trucks, clearing the snow in the winter, survey party (and many more). All are period postcards, with the first postcard summarizing it well, which says (in part) "From Dawson Creek BC, the road runs some 1,500 miles north-west through Forst St John, Fort Nelson, Watson Lake, Whitehorse and on to Fairbanks, Alaska". A nice change to get this many cards at once, which took years / decades to assemble. Estimate = $180.00 $260.00
Canada Covers - Alberta Postcard Dealer Stock. A dealer's show box of approximately 500 postcards, each individually sleeved and priced (most between $3 and $7). Heavy in Edmonton & Canadian Rockies view, but also a smattering from across the province. An interesting mix with everything from RPPC (real photo postcards) to modern chromes. An inexpensive way to tour the province, perfect for sorting into an existing collection or resale. Estimate = $150.00 $180.00
Canada Covers - Autographed First Day Cover Collection 2002-2009. An astounding offering of 14 different Canadian FDC, each neatly mounted and displayed on album pages (with write up), each being an autographed FDC (usually by the designer, but also by various artists / illustrators / Canada Post delegates and dignitaries involved with the stamp). Each of these was obtained personally by the previous collector, usually at the stamp launch events. Impossible to recreate. Estimate = $300.00 $85.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia - Cariboo Road / Highway Postcard Collection. Over 100 postcards, plus some modern reproduction photos housed in a single postcard album. Many better postcards included here, with the majority being RPPC (real photo postcards). A wonderful glimpse into this historically important route, with many of these cards dating from the pre-1920 period. Estimate = $200.00 $550.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia - Cecil E. Tildesley "Sooke BC" postcard / photograph archive. A small but historically important archive of 33 photographs (about half are printed on postcard stock), relating to Cecil Tildesley, who served as surveyor's assistant F.E. Devereux (BC Land Surveyor, Victoria) during the 1910/1911 season. Included are images of the engineering party, log building of the Leechtown Station, trestles, Sooke Lake camp, local residents, right-of-way clearing, drilling and work gang. An impressive archive which cannot be duplicated, invaluable for the BC historian. Estimate = $250.00 $260.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia "Kootenays" Postal History. The scarce / seldom seen White Sulphur BC 1927 split ring cancel on Admiral rate cover to Netherlands. One of the toughest to find Kootenay Post Offices, this one believed to be the best known example of the copies in extant. One of two lots of Kootenay specific postal history listed in this sale. Estimate = $500.00 $2,075.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia cancels on cover, piece and stamp. The biggest portion is a few hundred, mostly #10 sized registered covers sent 1965-1985, with lots of CDS, POCONs, a few MOONs and other cancels. More than your usual offering of Vancouver and Victoria sub offices, with some New Westminster, Kelowna, Surrey plus a plethora of smaller towns. Most is non-philatelic and the relatively small number that were sent from out of province were struck with receiving cancels upon arrival, some of which are uncommon. There is a mounted collection of a couple dozen #8 covers, some with attractive corner cards, but your patience will be required to remove the tape on the back holding them to the page. The rest of the box is filled with a broader range of items on stamp or piece (1930-1990’s). The collector had started to identify some of them (a damaged stamp has a partial "Lindell" split ring cancel - RF E), but more organizing is required. Estimate = $180.00 $280.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History / Japanese Interment Camp Mail. An elusive example of Japanese Internment Camp mail, posted from Minto Mine on May 22nd 1943 to Leaside Ontario, PASSED BY CENSOR C-270. Only 25 families were relocated to Minto City, making this one of the roughest origins of Japanese Interment Camp mail. Estimate = $180.00 $110.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. A duo of high-powered BC split ring cancels. A seldom seen offering from two of British Columbia's most difficult to find Post Offices. The first is Brechin BC, March 3rd 1911 on postcard to England, the second is Still Bridge BC, January 21st 1936 on cover to Toronto. Both Post Offices are extremily tough to find, especially this nice with the strikes well above-average. Both are sleeved and priced. Total retail as marked = $425.00 $110.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. A half-dozen selected BC split ring cancels 1899-1953 on cover, all selected for scarcity of postmark and quality of strike. Offices include Mount Pleasant 1899, Redonda Bay 1945, Sidley 1899 (seldom seen, often mistaken for Sidney), Appledale 1953. Sweetwater 1939 and Squirrel Cove 1946. High quality offerings such as this are not widely available. A nice chance to knock off a group of better BC Post Offices. Each item is individually sleeved and priced. Total retail as marked = $260.00 $36.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. A tough to assemble group of 10 different LOWER MAINLAND Post Office split ring cancels 1905-1921 on postcards. Post Offices included are Earls Road 1914, Joyce 1921, View Hill 1916, Cedar Cove 1905, City Heights 1912, Janes Road 1912, East Burnaby 1907, North Vancouver 1907, Vancouver Heights 1914 and Fraser Avenue 1911. Including from the Vancouver area, most of these offices which were originally in smaller suburbs were eventually "swallowed up" by the population expansion of the lower mainland over the past century. A wonderful "where is it now" study to research where some of the Post Office locations were. Each item is individually sleeved and priced. Total retail as marked = $610.00 $160.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. Large offering of 20 CDS postmark covers / postcards 1915-1975, including several better short-lived Post Offices. 271 Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #255iv. A Bileski discovered and Unitrade listed COMPLETE OFFSET ON GUM SIDE "mirror image" error on the 1941-1944 issue 3c rose carmine Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), perf 12½ x 12½. The lot includes a long write-up by Bileski himself. As only 200 examples of this error were found, it's nice to note (in this case) that our dear departed Kasimir wasn't exaggerating about the rarity of this piece. 2024 Unitrade = $262.50 $80.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #270iv. Very Fine mint Never Hinged example of the 5c "Cabot" printed in the rare Unitrade listed "blotchy print" aniline ink (according to Unitrade only 100 printed). Note that this stamp is distinctly different from the even scarcer Unitrade #270ii (reverse offset). Comes with Kasimir Bileski's original write-up. Note also that this elusive and undervalued stamp often sells for near full catalogue. Normal stamp included for comparison. 2024 Unitrade = $150.00 $160.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #C6-C8, C9-C11. The 1931 issue Air Post sets in Fine/Very Fine mint Hinged condition, both unwatermarked and watermarked. Nice to get both sets at once. 2024 Scott US$252.50 = $340.90 $130.00

Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland - Messy accumulation of pre-Confederation Newfoundland, the balance of an estate with material that was purchased and then set aside. Dealer cards, bidboard lots, album pages, a bit of wholesale mint (large blocks) and used (envelopes), even a small bundle of town cancels. Classics go back to the "Triangle" issues, most of the Victorian era material is used, and there is a mix of mint and used throughout. Completely unchecked for perforations, printings or varieties. Take the time to tame this treasure! Estimate = $200.00 $260.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia #4. Fine appearing used example of the 1851 issue 6p yellow green imperforate. Light grid cancels, a couple of tiny thin spots noted for the record. Still an attractive pre-Confederation rarity. 2024 Scott US$825.00 = $1,113.75 $100.00
Canadian Provinces - Prince Edward Island - Charlottetown "13" Postmarks. Six stamps and one cover, all clearly postmarked "13", the designated numeral cancel for Charlottetown. The catalogue numbers of the used stamps are #4, 5, 8 (x 2), 11 and 14. The full 1868 cover is franked with #6. A great range of issues, with a decent catalogue value even as basic used stamps. Worthy additions to any pre-Confederation collection. Estimate = $200.00 $250.00
China - PRC #119/866. A couple of incomplete exhibits of early PRC that have been grouped together. From the 1951 to 1965 era, mostly used (a few of the earlier mint are reprints). We noted some partial sets (chrysanthemums, butterflies, etc.), and assorted singles, with some better. Overall, the condition is quite good. Because of the overlap of the exhibits, there is a bit of minor duplication. Offered as received. 2023 Scott US$609.75 = $823.16 $110.00
China - Republic and People’s Republic - Collector's grouping in a full 32-page Lighthouse stockbook. This lot starts with some nice Republic issues, including inflationary and occupation overprints. It then progresses to Taiwanese issues, but with better PRC interspersed, and afterwards, almost every page seems to have a mix of either country, with a touch of post-handover Hong Kong and Ryukyus thrown in. Over 1000 stamps, overall condition is quite nice, but in need of your patience sorting. Estimate = $180.00 $95.00
Czechoslovakia - Five mint sheet files, plus a few loose pages with loads of mostly 1980-1993 sheetlets, complete booklets and a few larger multiples. Lots of painting or astronaut issues among other topicals. Good coverage, many with very light duplication (1-3 copies). Only a couple of minor faults amongst the stamps, the mint sheet files are at the end of their service life. Estimate = $180.00 $60.00

The stockbook is a bit lightly filled but has a nice study of Telegraph stamps (noting plate proofs of the 1894 issue), with mint, postal uses and some multiples. Very pleasantly laid out with different printings differentiated by type, year, denomination, colour, overprint, perforation, etc. Includes mint and properly used with some duplication. 292 Ethiopia - Assortment of album pages that the previous owner purchased bidboard and other auction lots, with both mint and used stamps from 1894-2002. Includes better singles, sets and some "back of the book". Because this collector preferred to buy than to organize, some duplication is to be expected. Overall the condition looks quite nice. Estimate = $150.00 $80.00

There is good value in the 1921 and 1922 Constituent Assembly offerings, as well as the final commemorative set and its various overprints. Not to be outdone is the "back of the book", with all facets covered to some extent. We are certain that the total catalogue value of this lot is several thousand dollars. Estimate = $450.00 $260.00
Fiume #3/26, B1/B3. Hungarian regular issues and semi-postals overprinted "Fiume" including different overprint types. Neatly identified by set and overprint type this group goes beyond what is covered by Scott Classic, which states "applied by 2 printing plates and 6 handstamps. Values are for the less costly". Needless to say, additional research may prove fruitful. A very attractive mix of mint (Hinged) and used issues. Ends with a page of Hungarian issues used in Fiume, but no overprints, which are not counted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott Classic US$1420.30 = $1,917.41 $180.00

Neatly identified by set and overprint type this group goes beyond what is covered by Scott Classic, which states "applied by 2 printing plates and 6 handstamps. Values are for the less costly". Needless to say, additional research may prove fruitful. A very attractive mix of mint (all but one is Hinged) and used issues. Total 2023 Scott Classic US$2024.50 = $2,733.88 $150.00
Fiume #86-99. A gloriously Never Hinged (Hinged in the selvedge) complete set of the 1920 Gabriele d’Annunzio issue. The previous collector Hinged these in the selvage, in many cases leaving a hinge remnant. The stamps and their gum emerged unscathed, so could have the selvedge removed if so desired. 2023 Scott US$415.00 = $560.25 $85.00
Fiume #104/121. Near complete mint Hinged / Hinge Remnant set of the 1920 overprints and revaluations, missing only the lower value #115, but includes a shade variety of the 20c value (#111). This issue was for the Fiume Legionnaires d’Annunzio who occupied local islands of Arbe and Veglia for a couple of months. One of the key sets of Fiume. The higher value stamps have authentication stamps on reverse. 2023 Scott US$1375.00 = $1,856.25 $150.00
Fiume #121, E4-E5. Trio of mint Hinged / Hinge Remnant key values from the 1920 overprints with the 10 lira value and a pair of Special Delivery overprints. This issue was for the Fiume Legionnaires d’Annunzio who occupied the local islands of Arbe and Veglia for a couple of months. All three stamps have authentication stamps on reverse. 2023 Scott US$1180.00 = $1,593.00 $130.00
Fiume #122/133. "Arbe" and "Veglia" overprints of 1920 on the previous month’s "Occupation anniversary" issue. Mint Hinged, with the usual centering. Many with expertization marks. The 5c "Arbe" has a small thin, so it is not counted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott Classic US$785.00 = $1,059.75 $110.00
Fiume #150/160. A partial mint Hinge Remnant set of the 1921 "First Constituent Assembly" overprints on semi-postal stamps. Eight denominations, including #150-152, 154-155, 157-158, 160. Tough to find material! 2023 Scott US$479.50 = $647.33 $110.00
Fiume #B4-B15. Lovely fresh mint Hinged set of the 1919 semi-postals commemorating "200 years of Peace" issued to benefit Italian students in Fiume. 307 Fiume - Balance of a consignment in a disintegrating stockbook full of fascinating material including overprints, printing varieties and "back of the book", supplemented with nice cancels, forgeries and other "odds and ends". Better items include #144-145 (catalogue $95.00 each), the 1922 overprint issue (including some in different papers) and examples of the black denomination postage dues (including used on piece). Comes with a handful of dealer stockcards that never got integrated, some sparse "Borek" album pages and the softcover book "The Stamps and Postal History of Fiume 1600-1924" by Den. Do not overlook this accumulation. Seldom seen material. Estimate = $200.00 $140.00
France #15/4823, B14/B716. Large index card box packed with "104" cards, each with 1-8 stamps on each card, most identified by Scott in pencil. Most are used, with almost no duplication. Perfect as a collection or a dealer’s stock. Overall, the condition is excellent. Appears to include items that generally catalogue under $10.00 each, but among the couple thousand stamps here, there may be hidden gems but regardless, the catalogue value will add up quickly here. Estimate = $200.00 $100.00
France - Accumulation of mostly 20th century on album pages or in glassines. Most are auction or dealer purchases that were never integrated into the collector’s collection. There is a bunch of pages of "back of the book", that purported to catalogue $800.00 (year unknown). There are other collection fragments or stockcards back to the earlier years, mostly used. We even noted some revenues and a page of Red Cross seals. Estimate = $140.00 $80.00
French Colonies - Dizzying array of diverse and disorganized material from a wide number of French outposts. We think that you will find particular interest in French Polynesia, Algeria, Wallis and Futuna, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Morocco and New Caledonia. There are smaller, yet still worthwhile offerings from another dozen colonies, and a few albums and stockpages with multiple colonies on each. Estimate = $180.00 $200.00
French Equatorial Africa #C9-C16. Complete used set of the 1940-1941 overprinted airmail issue, all on small piece with the exception of C9 (one of the two high-values) which is off-paper with expertization "C.Issac" signature on reverse. 2023 Scott US$603.50 = $814.75 $130.00
French Martinique / French Guadeloupe - Duo of used collections 1884-1947 on collector's pages, consisting of a nice sampler run from the French colonies. Guadeloupe consists of 57 stamps, with Martinique featuring 65 issues. While a bit disorganized at first glance, there are plenty of better stamps mixed in throughout (including many pre-1900 issues). These were catalogued at one time (likely 20 years ago) totaling approximately US$350.00, but many of these early issues have seen price increases in subsequent years. A great way to fill some spots in your album from these seldom offered areas. Estimate = $130.00 $55.00
French Polynesia - Mint Lightly Hinged / Never Hinged group of "back of the book" airmail stamps and postage due stamps 1942-1987. Includes many better sets or singles, all neatly arranged in mounts on cut-down album pages (looks to be Scott pages). 2023 Scott US$513.30 = $692.95 $75.00
German Democratic Republic #48/634, B14/B92. Part 1 of a fabulous DDR collection, this lot is a single Lindner hingeless album, with a near complete run of stamps and souvenir sheets, some mint, some used from 1949 to 1962. Includes the Mao set (Never Hinged, the low value with the slightest of gum disturbance) and #129 (Never Hinged). The Marx souvenir sheets (both perforated and imperforate) are cleanly used and there is good semi-postal representation including B21a. A few of the earlier mint are Hinged, but most appear to be Never Hinged. About 3/4 of the lot is mint including semi-postals. Condition appears to be as good as it gets. This album with slipcase, as new, retails at $400.00 alone. 2023 Scott US$1356.00 = $1,830.60 $400.00

Part 2 of a fabulous DDR collection, this lot is a pair of Lindner hingeless albums, with a near complete run of stamps and souvenir sheets, some mint, a few used from 1978 to 1990. Better includes the 1964 15th anniversary souvenir sheet, and a complete sheet of #692a (15 blocks of 4 - catalogues $240.00) and lots of topical interest (e.g. animals, insects, sports, space, transportation). Over 95% mint Never Hinged. The few used stamps are often duplicates of mint examples. Condition appears to be as good as it gets. These albums (only one has a slipcase, as new, retails at over $1100.00. The stamps have a 2023 Scott catalogue value of US$1126.55. A wonderful stamp / album combination. Estimate = $400.00 $160.00
German Democratic Republic #1875/2852, B187/B204. Part 3 of a fabulous DDR collection. This lot is a pair of Lindner hingeless albums, with a near complete run of mint Never Hinged stamps and souvenir sheets issued between 1978 to 1990. While there are over 1000 different stamps here, there are no particularly valuable stamps. Perfect to start (and finish) a collection, for a stock or for the myriad of stamps with topical interest (e.g. animals, insects, sports, space, transportation). Condition appears to be as good as it gets. These albums (no slipcases), as new, retails at over $600.00 and the stamps have a 2023 Scott catalogue value of US$745.75. Estimate = $250.00 $160.00
German Democratic Republic - Part 4, the final part of this fabulous DDR collection, in two volumes. One is kind of a "Back of the Book" offering, with 15 mint examples of the 1963 "Central Courier" official stamps, listed in Michel at about Euro 35 each, but not listed in Scott. There are also other officials and regular issues in differently cut se-tenant multiples, some black print souvenirs, as well as a few oversized souvenir sheets, sheetlets or multiples. There are coil strips of 5 of the 1961 definitives. All housed on nice Lindner hingeless pages. The second volume is an "Abria" springback stockbook, with about 800 mostly canceled to order used stamps, with some better up to about $20.00 catalogue value, and a bit of light duplication. No souvenir sheets in the second part. Good value in the books, and some better items could be hiding. Estimate = $200.00 $110.00
Germany #4/3252 plus semi-postal and airmail. Two large binders with a full run of Germany (up to 2021). The first century is a mix of mint and used, starting off a bit sparsely (although some nice cancels noted), and there is some better amongst the immediate post-war era (#665-668 Hever Hinged, catalogue $142.50). From about 1950 onwards, the material is mostly used. There are only a few souvenir sheets, being a mix of mint and used (regardless of the era). There is a very nice run of semi-postals and airmails (again, more used than mint). The overall condition is excellent, with no duplication. Probably 2500 stamps here, mounted on loose-leaf pages (many in page protectors). The owner’s accurately catalogued the collection by his older Scott catalogue. Owner's older 2018 Scott US$4400.00 = $5,940.00 $110.00
Germany #8/526, B3/B293 plus other Back of the Book. A near-new Schaubek 2-post binder in burgundy fabric with regular pages for "Germany 1872-1945". A mix of a few hundred mint and used stamps, a bit sparsely populated in the 19th century, gaining strength through the inflationary years and then quite a bit stronger to the end of the Second World War. Stamps are in collector-added black mounts, and the couple of faulty items are clearly marked. Presume the mint stamps to be Hinged, but some are Never Hinged. The only souvenir sheet is the 1936 "Horse Race", cancelled to order. The stamps are generally more common, but we did see several stamps cataloguing $10.00 - $20.00 each. This album is still available, and the cost of a new album will set you back over 200 Euros for the album alone! Estimate = $180.00 $120.00
Germany #1286/1695, B558/B723. Collection of 1979-1991 issues on Lindner hingeless pages in an 18-ring album (brown), with a mismatched slipcover (dark blue). A near-complete run of about 550 mint Never Hinged stamps and a few souvenir sheets (seems to be missing only a few booklet issues). Back of the album includes a few "bonus" items from slightly earlier (e.g. souvenir sheets) that are on black stockpages that the collector just hadn’t gotten around to mounting. Owner’s 2023 Scott catalogue value for the stamps is US$595.00, plus a new album of this type retails for about $300.00 alone. Estimate = $180.00 $70.00
Germany - Berlin #9N471/9N592, 9NB191/9NB285. The final stanza of Berlin issues with what appears to be a complete run of mint Never Hinged, regular and semi-postal issues from 1982 to 1990 in a Lindner hingeless album with slipcase. There are no booklet stamps, and a souvenir sheet or two may be missing, plus we noted a couple of used are duplicates of mint examples. A new album of this type will set you back over $300.00 alone and the 2023 Scott catalogue value for the stamps is about US$350.00. Estimate = $160.00 $42.00

A wonderful basis for a future study, this accumulated group was put together by a collector from several sources with the idea to eventually do a study on these notoriously "tough" early issues. Lots of upside once identified, but except some faulty and forgeries to be included as well (the latter interesting in their own regard). Comes with a 1965 article "Greece, The First Hermes Head Issues" by Drossos and the 1965 book "The First Athens Issue of the Large Hermes Heads of Greece". Wonderful potential. This is all followed by a binder with Vario-brand pages with earlier issues, sorted by year and a glassine box packed with an organized selection from early issues up to about 1970. Bonus items are two £5 postage dues which we haven’t counted. Note: several of the covers have minor damage or aging (mentioned for the record). The stamps alone soaked off the cover would appeal to collectors of used IOM, as the material is seldom seen used. Without the postage dues or premiums for the first day covers, the stamps’ total face value is £188.94 = $324.98 $120.00
Israel #15/103, C1/C17. Wholesale lot of early mint Israel, most with tabs. A mix of Hinged and Never Hinged, in which we noted #15, 23-24, 31-32, 35-36, 37, 55 and C1-C6, mounted on black pages and stockcards. Good appearance, with most being singles, but a few of the later issues are found in multiples. 2023 Scott US$734.20 = $991.17 $75.00
Israel - Precursor Group. Over 130 duplicated mint Never Hinged 1940s-early 1950s period Israeli precursors/fund raising stamps, all laid out on four stock sheets. Note perf and imperf types, corner blocks, gutter blocks and plate inscriptions. An increasingly popular area of middle eastern philately. Owner's Estimate = $150.00 $85.00
Italian Colonies - Not often seen mini-hoard of mostly 1930’s issues, including "back of the book". Lots of overprints, such as "Cirenaica", "Libya", "Tripolitania", "Somalia", "Eritrea", as well as regular issues (such as East Africa). A mix of mint and used, expect a bit of duplication and that it will take you some time to sort through what is here. From several dealers and auction houses as purchased / accumulated by a collector. Overall condition is fresh and clean, but expect the mint to be Hinged. Estimate = $140.00 $210.00
Italy #133/328, C62-C65. Six better mint Hinged sets from the 1920’s-1930’s including the key "World Cup" set (with airmails), as well as Dante, Mazzini, 10th anniversary of Fascist government, etc. A fresh offering. Total 2023 Scott US$693.50 = $936.23 $90.00
Italy #361/409, B26/B38, C3/C105. Six mint sets or partial sets, including Child Welfare, Centenary of Famous Italians, Flaccus (missing 2 lowest denominations), most of the first airmail issue and semi-postals for the voluntary militia. All mint hinged, generally good condition (one damaged stamp noted, not counted). Great material from between the world wars. Total 2023 Scott US$913.15 = $1,232.75 $150.00
Italy - Run of 20th century Italy (and a bit more) in an accumulation that will have you using many different sections of your catalogue. Includes a host of dealer cards with some "back of the book", post-war overprints, Aegean Islands and a couple of "dubious" postmarks on revalued stamps. Looking for more modern material? There are some album pages with mint 1990’s issues, plus a paper bag with "new issues" that haven’t seen daylight since they were bought. We finish off with a bunch of 1989-1994 first day "panels" (most of which have been 3-hole punched). Estimate = $150.00 $120.00
Japan #222/606. Mostly mint collection of the sought-after New Year’s issues from 1935 to 1955, highlighted by the miniature sheet of 20 first issue #222a as well as souvenir sheets available only by lottery. Hinged to 5 album pages with the sheets affixed by multiple hinged around the edge on the front of the sheet. A scarce grouping! 2023 Scott US$1398.40 = $1,887.85 $280.00
Japan - Well organized collector's duplicated, ordered and organized within 3 matching 32-page Unisafe stockbooks. While mostly used material, there is still a good amount of mint roaming throughout this group. From "earlies" to "modern", the collector organized items as found and added them to this holding. We noted several better areas of interest, including the "National Parks", 1960's commemoratives and early material with postmark intrigue. The stockbooks alone would set you back $100.00! A very clean offering. Estimate = $220.00 $90.00
Jersey #137/660, J7-J20. Two big bundles of presentation packs covering issues from 1976 to 1994. About 210 packs, with coverage being a bit random, but there are lots of definitives and commemoratives. Stamps are in excellent condition, a few of the folders have minor faults and with some duplication noted. Significant topical appeal throughout. This would be an easy way to build a collection and to sell the duplicates to offset your cost. Includes one set of postage dues not counted in the total face value. Conservatively valued for the face value of the stamps. Total face value £238.35 = $409.96 $190.00
Jersey #155/660. Bundle of about 200 cacheted, unaddressed First Day Covers generally with two of each type including face values to £5, including a couple of souvenir sheets. Total face value of the stamps on the FDCs £150.55. There is a bit of minor damage to a few covers, mentioned for the record, but as so few of these stamps are available postally used, we often see used collections with stamps soaked from FDCs. Great collection or stock builder, as there is lots of topical interest (e.g. animals, ships, flowers). With no premium for the covers, the total original purchase price of the stamps £230.02 = $395.63 $100.00
Korea #61-63, 66, 69. Post WWII (1946) mint wholesale grouping of five different issues including singles, pairs, blocks etc. A very popular time period for collectors of Korean material. While Scott catalogue offers a premium for Never Hinged, the gum of these varies from pristine to slightly foxed / no gum so no premium was added (leaving some potential upside once sorted). A total of 193 stamps, neatly laid out on stockpages. 2024 Scott US$533.25 = $719.90 $32.00
Korea #229/1967. Singles, sets and souvenir sheets mostly mint, 1950’s-1960s on a few stockcards. A VF selection of stamps, including the 600th Anniversary of Separation from House of Monfort, 1944-1945 Pictorial series (two complete sets), Birth of Prince Johann Adam Pius and the 1947 "Arms Type" 5fr high-value. An attractive group of stamps in choice used condition. 2024 Scott US$285.80 = $385.85 $55.00
Macau #375/436, C19-C20. A packet maker’s stock starting in the 1960’s, with anywhere from 16 to 200 of each stamp, including a couple of complete sets (usually when there are two stamps). This material was packaged in the late 1970’s before Macau became appreciated by many collectors. Cleanly used and sorted by number. Some of these stamps catalogue up to $8.50 each! The Dutch material includes a used set of the 1940 overprints and a clutch of cut down stock cards filled with a selection of mint and used issues from the first half of the 20th century. The lot also includes bits and pieces of mint and used Aruba, Antilles and Surname issues on an assortment of pages. The value will add up quickly here. Expect a little bit of duplication throughout. Estimate = $140.00 $65.00
New Caledonia - VF mint Never Hinged group of 14 imperforate "die proofs" from the 1970's / 1980's. 400 New Zealand - A bag and a box. This two-part offering includes a very mixed bag (pun intended) with mostly early to mid-century mint (noted some 1935 and 1940 officials) and wholesale quantities of the 1940 Centennial (including large multiples). There is a beautiful large piece franked to cover postage due costs with 7 copies of the 5/- "Official" overprint, some presentation sets, over $50.00 in postage, a few album pages, a block of 3d GeoV proofs and even a bit of "Islands" with overprints on New Zealand stamps. 401 New Zealand - A collector's accumulation of "earlier issues", used and arranged by issue within a 24-page stockbook. Condition is a bit mixed, as to be expected, but lots of potential for postmarks at every turn. The previous owner's calculated catalogue value is over $1000.00. Estimate = $120.00 $32.00
New Zealand - A mostly mint accumulation of 950 stamps (at least 90% mint) 1935-1990 arranged on 10 Hagner brand stocksheets, including earlier material. All neatly arranged in glassines (likely as received from the NZ Post Office). Noted several better topicals including Preforming Arts, Pacific 97' Stamp Exhibition, Dinosaurs and Vineyards (to name "a few"). Mildly duplicated in areas. Very conservatively valued for the postage (face) value only. Total face value is NZ$850.59 = $711.85 $325.00
Nicaragua #717-729. Complete mint Never Hinged sheet of four (13 in total), issued for the 1949 World Series of Amateur Baseball, featuring a series of sports related scenes. A bit of very minor gum toning mentioned "for the record", but not detracting from this tough to find "topical" issue. 2023 Scott US$375.00 = $506.25 $190.00
Norfolk Island / Pitcairn Islands - Norfolk Island #127/636, Pitcairn Islands #151/382. Pro-rated for Never Hinged (@ 1.68) based on the complete set Hinged/Never Hinged differential in Scott. 2024 Scott US$607.75 = $820.45 $110.00
North Borneo #208-222. Complete mint Lightly Hinged set of the 1945 "BMA" overprinted pictorial set, issued under British administration. A visually striking series, one of the most popular of the period from this country. 2023 Scott US$142.95 = $193.00 $140.00

Papua New Guinea #268/951. Wholesale group of 43 complete booklets issued between 1968-1998, including Shells, Constitutional Development, Telecommunications (11x "Dunlop" and 15x "Book Depot" covers), 1991 "Birds" (two different formats), 1994 Cars, 1995 Mushrooms and 1995 Sea Kayaking World Cup. Some have been catalogued by Scott (each with a minimum catalogue value of $15.00 each), but some have not and require more specialized catalogues. While there is some tropical staining, this would indicate that they actually came from the South Pacific, rather than some philatelic printers filling mail-orders. Estimate = $100.00 $42.00
Poland #261/390, B28/B44, 3K1-3K16. 416 Portugal and Colonies - Disorganized collection of over 1000 stamps distributed on 50 album or stock pages. Some meticulously identified and catalogued, others...not so much. Noted classics up to the 1992 Columbus issue and a bit beyond. About half this lot is from the colonies, with virtually every colony covered to varying degrees. A mix of mint and used, includes a few souvenir sheets. Lot concludes with 42 tourist postcards mostly sent to Canada 1960’s-90s. A nice lot to play with. Estimate = $150.00 $75.00
Russia / USSR - Accumulation in four parts. The first is a binder with two collections on album pages (most postwar to 1970) - many hundreds of stamps here. The second is a Filek 32-page stockbook with a more from the earlier periods running up to the 1980’s. Third is a mint sheet binder with partial sheets, souvenir sheets and glassines mostly covering #3022/3522 in quantities mostly in the 10-30 range (Scott catalogue about US$1000.00). The lot finishes with a mysterious pouch of miscellaneous material, most being relatively modern in glassines but also with a pair of approval books priced by Zumstein 1951! Terrific potential here. A compact collection, accumulation and study lot on 4 Vario-brand pages (8 sides), full of early GeoV (up to 5/- and some coils), scenery issues (mint and used, with lots of pairs, and many obvious printing differences awaiting your identification skills), a nice run of War issues and Elizabethan issues into the early Republic period. What may set this lot aside is the "back of the book", with some great semi-postals, a few airmails and then an amazing run of used postage dues, including several multiples, a few official pairs and even a few revenues and Cinderellas. Previous owner had catalogued these at a plausible US$1750.00 several years ago. Will be good value at estimated value. Estimate = $200.00 $110.00
South Africa #30. Sound and Fine used bilingual pair of the 1927-1928 issue 2sh6p "Trekking" perf 14 x 14 with "solid shading below the country name". A rare used pair. 2024 Scott US$400.00 = $540.00 $110.00

Collections of 1850-1940 period issues on thirty-four pages, mainly used, with strength in the earlies, not so much in the 20th. century. While some faults will be found, overall condition is according to the consignor, generally superior. A very good introduction to a comprehensive South American collection. Pages taken from an early representative Scott album. Owner's 2023 Scott US$629.35 = $849.65 $55.00
Spain #815/1964. All Very Fine mint and almost all Never Hinged 1954 to 1976 period collection of over 1,150 different stamps, all laid out on Vario brand stock sheets. Loaded with colourful complete sets. Viva Espana! Owner's Scott $531.10 = $717.00 $230.00
Spain and Colonies #19/1130 plus Back of the Book. Clean Schaubek album with pages to the early 1960’s, with some tastefully added mounts. Several hundred stamps, including some "back of the book". There are some good 19th century issues, almost all used (a few of the higher values are punch cancelled and not counted), with some potential for specialization, as the collector included different shades, papers, etc that are beyond Scott classification. There is a complete block of #174a, Don Quixote forgeries, good 1930’s issues (including a couple with "Muestra" overprints and some back of the book) and the 1961 Valesquez issue souvenir sheet. The album is accompanied by a 2-post binder with Minkus pages with a good number of colonies, with a "starter collection" of mint and some used stamps. Estimate = $180.00 $160.00
St. Thomas and Prince Islands #554. Wholesale lot of 100 souvenir sheets of the 1979 "Sealife" issue, this being the Db25 denomination showing the "Caqui" fish, with the selvage showing shells, anemone and starfish. A couple small faults in the earlier material noted, but there are also some duplicated included (but not counted in the catalogue value). Owner's 2022 Scott US$535.40 = $722.80 $55.00
Switzerland #69/743 plus Back of the Book. A quality used collection in a regular Davo album (in somewhat worn slipcase) with pages to 1983. A bit of a "hit or miss" start, but after 1910 is very complete, missing only some high values, including in the "Pro-Juventute" semi-postals. Overall condition is quite good, with no souvenir sheets or any other "back of the book". A spot check showed stamps with individual catalogue values to $75.00. Also includes an envelope of duplicates of mostly used from the latter half of this album. As new, the album will set you back about $300.00. A bargain at the estimated value. Estimate = $220.00 $70.00
Switzerland #242, B89, B116, B132, B145, B178. Choice group of six different mint Never Hinged / Hinged souvenir sheets from the 1937-1948 period. While most are Lightly Hinged / Hinged, the 1938 Arrau National Philatelic Exhibition is Never Hinged. An ever-popular grouping from a visually striking era in Swiss stamp issuing. 2024 Scott US$251.50 = $339.50 $42.00
Switzerland #502/1009. Blocks by the handful from 1969 to 1997 (give or take). It is a lot of "mostly’s". Most are used, most with full gum, most are from sets, and we believe that most of the sets are intact. Likely a near complete run for the period, with the condition excellent and the items are attractive and will make for a good boost for collector or dealer. The catalogue value will add up quickly here! Hundreds of blocks. Estimate = $150.00 $34.00
Switzerland #B303/B680. Blocks Bonanza! A significant pile of mostly first day cancelled blocks (we presume) are mostly in full sets (plus the odd single). We also presume that it is a fairly complete run for the period, as there are hundreds of blocks here. Eye catching, great to break up the look of your collection, or to add first day cancels without the need for a full cover or to build as a stock. Oddly, there is an assortment of (mostly 1960’s) mint blocks randomly mixed in. Most of the blocks have their original gum and there is also a small group of mostly used singles from the same era. Some of the 21st century high values catalogue $8.00-$10.00 each as a block, so the overall catalogue value will quickly add up here. Estimate = $150.00 $55.00
Switzerland - A working-lot of Swiss material from a range of sources. Includes a sparsely filled Lindner hingeless album with pages to 1974 and a regular Minkus album of a similar vintage (this one more filled in with used stamps). The balance of the lot is album pages and stockcards with an assortment of used and some mint. Not much "back of the book", but there are some early items that might be sleepers. Expect a bit of duplication. Estimate = $150.00 $55.00
United Nations - Comprehensive 1951-1973 Collection. Volume 1 and volume 2 of a neatly mounted complete collection of mint singles, plate blocks and souvenir sheets (plus additional used material) from the first issues of 1951 up to 1973, all Hinged on quadrille pages in two small Stanley Gibbons albums. Of particular note in this group are the first sets of both New York and Geneva Offices (singles and inscription blocks), early New York inscription blocks including airmails and the key 1955 issue #38 souvenir sheet. Estimate = $200.00 $46.00
United Nations - Comprehensive 1973-1991 Collection. Volume 3, volume 4 and volume 5 of a neatly mounted complete collection of mint singles, plate blocks, miniature panes and souvenir sheets from 1973 up to 1991, all Hinged on quadrille pages in three small Stanley Gibbons albums. Of particular note in this group are the first sets of the Vienna Offices (singles and inscription blocks), the popular "flag" sheet series, Human Rights sheets, International Year of the Child plate strips and a myriad of sets, panes and sheets from all three United Nations Offices: New York, Geneva and Switzerland. The "new issue" cost of this material was well over $1,000.00 (in 1970s-1990 dollars!). Estimate = $300.00 $65.00

Of particular note are numerous different "Flag" (possibly a complete set) and "Human Rights" complete panes plus loads of other material from all three United Nations Offices: New York, Geneva and Switzerland. Loads of additional variety and lots of balanced duplication. Some of these more modern sheets are quite good and catalogue for much more as complete panes than just the stamps. The total face value "new issue" cost (in US Dollars, Swiss Francs and Austrian Schillings/Euros) of this material was well over $1,500.00. Estimate = $400.00 $290.00

Worldwide - 1974 UPU (Universal Postal Union) Presentation Book. A stunning deluxe cloth bound presentation album with slipcase, issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union. Produced by Swiss Post at the request of Universal Postal Union, with only 4000 copies in existence. Contains stamps from 157 different issuing agencies, neatly presented alphabetically through the book. Comes with the original documentation explaining the presentation book and history of the UPU. Estimate = $150.00 $110.00
Worldwide - A dozen dealer’s small "show" binders with cards for small souvenir sheets, blocks, sheetlets etc. This group covers a range of non-British Commonwealth countries. There are some concentrations of Romania, Cuba, Bhutan (lots of Disney issues), but for the most part there are 2-3 countries per binder. Most of the material is souvenir sheets, but did not some sets, a few First Day Covers and a couple of booklets, which all appear to be in great condition. Huge topical appeal, with sports, fish, animals, flowers, etc. Up to about 4 of a type, with most of the material being from 1940-2002. A rough count of pages indicates that there is about 50 pages per binder, and the material ranges in catalogue price by Scott from $1.00 to $13.00 per sleeve (2011 prices) with an average around $5.00. This would indicate a total retail value of about US$3000.00. Great for shows, circuit books, club auctions, online sales, you name it. Estimate = $200.00 $325.00
Worldwide - A mix of better Asian material, running from the earliest issues up until about 2000. There are pockets of strength, such as Korea (especially South Korea, but there is a bit of North Korea as well), a good page of better mint Thailand (which will require patience to remove), some attractive Vietnam (including North issues), some Cambodia, a smattering of mint and used Macau and Hong Kong and touches of Chinese material here and there. Significant catalogue value here. Estimate = $170.00 $70.00
Worldwide - A wonderfully disorganized, collector-described, box of "smalls", usually "102" cards, with some glassines and small stockcards. If you want to expand your knowledge of philately and work with material that is both common and better (we noted sets and singles with values up to about $30.00), this lot is for you. And there is the potential for more, as this collector often tucked unrelated items into sleeves, and didn’t relabel them (applies to about 1/3 of the cards in this lot), so you will have to "keep on your toes" to not miss anything. We noted Latvia, lots from the Americas (but only a bit of USA and Canada), Norway, British Commonwealth, Middle East and a bit of Asia, etc. A mix of mint and used, mostly 20th century, with a bit earlier. Fills a small stationery box. Estimate = $180.00 $180.00
Worldwide - An amazing consignment in one brown bankers box with a bit of everything...including value! There are a couple of groups of Germany (East and West), Switzerland, Baltic countries, Finland, Egypt, Liberia, Liechtenstein and many more. Includes binders and many loose album and stockpages. 452 Worldwide - An envelope box labelled by the previous owner as "Box of Smalls - For Album" and they weren’t kidding. Hundreds of "102", black selection cards, glassines, envelopes and packets witch look anywhere from 10-50 years old. A wide array of material, including items that the collector paid $20.00 each (many years ago). The unknown is that many of the packages hold more or different stamps than are written on the front, so there are pleasant surprises lurking everywhere. You will need all 12 volumes of Scott to sort this out. The only real concentration is modern-ish mint Japan singles, but there is material from all over Europe (and its colonies), the British Commonwealth, a bit of Asia and South America (not much Canada/US/Great Britain). Bring your patience, as there is not much order in this chaos. Estimate = $180.00 $200.00
Worldwide - Art Topical. A pair of specialty Lindner albums from 1977 with 55 pages of issues honoring the 400th anniversary of Peter Paul Rubens, who was an influential artist painting in the Flemish Baroque style. This specialty collection includes issues from across the globe, including sets, souvenir sheets and a first day cover. The binders are the traditional 18-ring Lindner in with burgundy padded covers, with the "signature" of the artist on both the spine and cover. All as new. The original cost would have been substantial. Estimate = $120.00 $70.00
Worldwide - Balance of consignment in a small box (about the size of an extra large shoebox) containing Canada / Great Britain (including Channel Islands) and a smattering of New Zealand. The group is about 80% Canadian material, which looks to be all used, including a good run of 1930's George V / VI issues with better postmarks noted and "stock" sorted by issue onto pages / envelopes. The Great Britain / Channel islands is mostly contained in a stockbook, with several hundred stamps including mint Machins / Regionals. The New Zealand is a used selection, tucked into the back of the British stockbook. In need of a good sort! Estimate = $120.00 $26.00
Worldwide - Box of Bits and Bobs and Better. Full to bursting box packed with an eclectic and wide ranging accumulation of material from just about everywhere. Colonies include Cayman Islands, Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Bermuda, Grenada, Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Vincent, St. Kitts, etc. There are several lots of multiple colonies on one page. Massive original cost here. Estimate = $200.00 $230.00
Worldwide - British Commonwealth. Bankers Box containing a dealer’s stock of three filecard boxes and a shoe box with a wide ranging, but not overly deep stock of used (and a bit of mint) material, from classic Queen Victoria to about 1980. Noted some Great Britain, Canada and a smattering of material from dozens of colonies. Most are in individual glassines (noting some duplication of about 5 of a type in an envelope). Most are singles, and many are identified by Scott with a catalogue value from about 40 years ago. We saw a few stamps that would catalogue $30.00+ today, but that was only from a cursory look through the few thousand stamps that are here. Expect some mixed condition in places. Estimate = $150.00 $70.00
Worldwide - Carton O' Fun. U-Haul carton packed with all kinds of philatelic fun consisting of a bit of something for everyone! 459 Worldwide - Central European countries: Germany, Belgium, Austria and Netherlands 1970’s-1980’s mint, Never Hinged and some used material, including "back of the book". This group of 1500 stamps and a few souvenir sheets has become disorganized over time, in its high-end 32-page blue covered stockbook, with acetate strips and glassine interleaves. Generally clean, lots of sets and topical interest. The Netherlands includes some Cinderella issues. Catalogue value will add up quickly. Estimate = $150.00 $65.00

Expect representation from the seven seas, across all eras, and pretty much any type of stamp. Almost exclusively used, with almost no organization and no obvious concentrations. Build your own collection or stock, occupy a whole stamp club for an evening (or three). Estimate = $140.00 $85.00
Worldwide - Crammed Carton of Curiosities. Moving box packed with an eclectic mix of diversely themed collections/accumulations, each housed in a separate stock book. Lots of "keepers" and "traders" here! Estimate = $325.00 $95.00
Worldwide - End of a consignment bankers box, packed with material. We noted an (originally) expensive group of worldwide "foil" cacheted first day covers in a specialty binder with slipcover (original cost would have been a few hundred dollars), five binders with colour-coded manila stockpages with a mostly used stock covering much of the world and battered stockbook with lots of "I" countries. The binders / albums are accompanied by a manila envelope with a loose scattering of Germany (some DDR and "States"), a bundle of album pages and dealer stockcards of worldwide stamps and a small stockbook with interesting "oldies" from across the globe. Thousands of stamps await you. Estimate = $150.00 $44.00
Worldwide - Every serious collector ends up with random items that don’t fit into their collection. This U-Haul box is filled with any number of items that defy single-lot sales in a bidboard, but will mean hours of exploration and fun for you. Thousands of stamps, from classics to "Dunes". We noted a few stockbooks (some packed, some sparse) and a couple of old springback binders (one with "A-B", the other with "H-L" countries), a handful of manila stockpages that are often "one page - one country" and a number of large blocks/full panes from all over the world. Lastly, we noted 8 retired circuit books from European countries that purport to have had $600.00 retail left in them from 1993! While as diverse as this lot is, we didn’t see much Canada or US, but there are little sections with Middle East and African material. A better than average collection remnant. Estimate = $200.00 $110.00
Worldwide - For those who like their worldwide lots, truly diverse. The U-Haul box includes a "Modern" album from 1925, an Ambassador album circa 1980, a couple old springback binders, and three binders with black and manila stockpages, plus a really old "Lincoln" album abd a shoebox. The quality includes some Great Britain, United States, Canada (noted a used strip of three of the Ferry dollar with a "G" overprint), plus French colonies, lots of Europe and the shoebox contains stock of Ceylon, Malaya, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa. Not much here after 1990. There is undoubtedly value here that has escaped everyone’s filter, until now. Estimate = $180.00 $85.00
Worldwide - Four volumes, mostly pre-World War II collection on decades old quadrilled album pages. Hundreds of stamps, including a mix of mint and used, with some medium to higher denominations and individual stamps with catalogue values up to $100.00. Noted Angola, Argentina, Austria, Albania, Denmark, Netherlands Colonies, Brazil, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, lots of South America and more! No British Commonwealth or United States. Note: as with many of these old-time holdings, identification and condition can be an issue, so use a critical eye. Estimate = $250.00 $95.00

Well over 12,000 different mint and used worldwide stamps, covering all continents, countries, colonies and eras, all neatly Hinged on a wide range of page types (various old album pages, quadrille and blank 3-ring pages, etc) and housed in aa range of different album styles (various springback and 3-ring types). The consignor spent decades assembling this impressive wide-ranging worldwide "sampler" collection, and while there are not many obvious "Pound" or "Dollar" type high values noted in the mix, the sheer volume and variety of material that this lifework lot represents will certainly offer up its fair share of scarce and useful treasures. Well worth the estimate. Estimate = $1,200.00 $475.00
Worldwide - Loose and "near-loose" stamps overfilling a bankers box. Includes "on and off" piece, on "102" and stockcards and a few in glassines. From almost everywhere, mostly used, but with some mint noted throughout. The only theme to this lot disorganization, in need of a patient collector to sort out this jumble. Obviously, we couldn’t go through this in detail, but interesting and potentially better items were found in every handful. Days of fun and learning here. Estimate = $150.00 $70.00
Worldwide - Miasma in a bankers box, the balance of an old-time holding. From bottom to top we noted an old Minkus 2-post album with a worldwide collection, binders and loose album pages, German States, early France, 1960’s British Commonwealth common design issues, wholesale used New Zealand from the 1970’s and more recent Australia used in a small stockbook. Total 2024 Scott US$366.85 = $495.25 $70.00
Worldwide - Philatelic "Tetris" with a dozen albums, binders, stockbooks plus some "extras" filling almost every space in this bankers box. The biggest is a "Statesman" album with a few thousand stamps, but there are a few other worldwide holdings, oddly with strength in "A" to "M" countries. We did see a bit of British Commonwealth and a book of Spain and another of Spanish Colonies. There is a nice presentation album for the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and one for the 1973 Royal Wedding. There are also other loose pages filled with stamps. All adding up to many thousands of stamps here with hours of fun. Estimate = $150.00 $80.00
Worldwide - Rapkin "Movaleaf" stamp album, with pages covering "A" to "J" countries from circa 1935 is not your usual old-time collection. Unfortunately, we don’t know what happened to the rest of the alphabet, but there are a couple of thousand stamps here. Notable better coverage from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany (and states), Great Britain, Hong Kong, Heligoland (with the usual caveats), Iceland, India, Italy, and many others (to a lesser extent). More used than mint, with lots of postmark potential. The springback has seen better days, but the stamps within the album seemed to escape unscathed. For lovers of the classics. Estimate = $200.00 $140.00
Worldwide - Starting with a small Austrian collection and mint Vatican in a stockbook, this lot proceeds "helter-skelter" into a bit of worldwide everything. There is a good-sized bag with loose album pages, stockcards, even some old auction lots where someone paid a couple hundred dollars for a few stamps. Thousands of stamps in total, largely unchecked, offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $60.00
Worldwide - Trio of Harris "Standard" worldwide albums (circa 1975) with a few thousand stamps, with the balance of the U-Haul box filled with three boxes of world-wide material on dealer cards, glassines and even a few loose. Terrific fun for the philatelic hunter-gatherer. Estimated = $150.00 $75.00
Worldwide - U-Haul box that begins with a big binder of black pages with stamps from 4 continents (sorted by country). The only clearly definable single-country area is some album and stockpages with used Denmark, back to its earliest issues. The balance consists of five stockbooks from 4 different manufacturers, 5 small sized stock books or springback albums and the old Ambassador album and a couple of inches of loose album pages. Thousands of stamps, more used than mint, from all over the world. All as received. Estimate = $200.00 $80.00
Worldwide - U-haul box with 10 albums and stockbooks. Thousands upon thousands of stamps to be found here, including a pair of nice "World Senior" albums with padded covers and pages to 1985. Noted older "Ambassador" and (ironically) "Modern" albums and a binder and stockbook with classic Great Britain and British Commonwealth.
