Aden #1-9. British Administration. Mint Never Hinged and absolutely stunning group of the first 9 "Dhow" issues from the 1937 series, each in a lower inscription -Thomas De La Rue & Company Limited. London - plate margin pair. While there are 3 additional higher values in the set (#10-12), they are all very high value (the extra three pairs would catalogue US$2050.00 alone). A very nice "extra" to showcase this attractive issue. 2023 Scott US$272.00 = $367.20 $30.00
Argentina #1/675 plus Back of the Book. Mint and (mostly) used collection of regular issues and lots of ‘back of the book", especially overprinted Officials on cut-down Yvert pages in a lovely black Stanley Gibbons springback binder. The interesting first page includes #1 and #5 used mixed amongst some of the normal dubious material often seen from this period. There is a "Rivadavia" duo overprinted "Muestra" and it is hit or miss to 1958, including a couple of souvenir sheets. There is a bit of airmail and then a couple hundred "Ministry" overprinted with an alphabet soup of various abbreviations to signify one of over a dozen different government agencies. Overall, the condition appears to be decent. Several hundred stamps. Most appear to be more common, but research could turn up some better items. Estimate = $140.00 $0.00
Australia #1-11, 2a. Sound, fresh and fine OG mint hinged / hinge remnant group from the first set of 1913 "Roos" from the 1/2p green to the 2sh brown plus Scott #2a (1p red). A few minor short perforations, as often found on this issue, but overall a very clean group. 2024 Scott US$1205.00 = $1,626.75 $13.00
Australia - Page of mint King George V "Heads" and early commemoratives with some official "OS" perfins. Fresh appearance, most are mint never hinged, with a touch of even toning and some penciled catalogue numbers. Unchecked for perforations or watermarks. Catalogued as the lowest value with no "never hinged premium". A bit of work could pay dividends. Total 2024 Scott US$402.75 = $543.71 $0.00
Australia - Queensland Postmarks. An early selection of 216x George V era postmarks, mostly being the "Head" issue, on stamps / cut squares. All neatly laid-out on Vario stockpages. Although with duplication, there is a wealth of interesting town names. A very popular collecting area of Australian philately. Estimate = $140.00 $0.00
Australia - Selection of 96 different recent used 2017-2023 stamps, most being high values with a few AAT (Australian Antarctic Territory) and Christmas Island as well. It is not easy to find these recent issues! 2025 Scott US$207.00 = $279.45 $22.00
Australia - Two £1 and four 10/- ‘Roos? That should indicate that this is not your usual consignment balance bankers box. Yes, there is lots of common material, especially from the decimal era, but there is a nice 1968 series Stanley Gibbons 4-ring binder and a well-loved 64-page Lighthouse stockbook. Plus, there are album pages, envelopes, presentation packs, "102" cards and then a small group of earlier issues including some ‘Roos, some early perfins (both "OS" and private) and a few officials to go with the airmails, mixed in with some Australian Antarctic Territory material. Expect the condition to be all over the place, and for there to be a moderate amount of duplication. Estimate = $180.00 $10.00
Australia and Australian Antarctic Territory - Estate balance. A diverse offering which includes a large binder of manila stockpages covering "Roos to about year 2000 with some back of the book, a stash of AAT issues including partial collections, a near new 16-page stockbook and misc loose items. There is also a stash of loose glassines and dealer cards that includes some "States" material, with cancels and other "odds and ends" (noted a used trio of O12-O14 - catalogues $82.50). If you are looking for an eye-catching piece, there are a few large used blocks of #J83, totaling 40 copies (catalogue $8.50 each). Great potential here. Estimate = $200.00 $16.00
Australian States and Australia - A collection balance, the best is the "States" material with several manilla stock pages, an approval book (never in a circuit, and only a few stamps removed), plus a near-new 32-page green Lighthouse stockbook with only 11 New South Wales stamps. Perforation, shade and cancel potential here. The Australia consists of a 1982 yearbook and a small group of 1970’s blocks with denominations to the dollar. Estimate = $150.00 $30.00
Austria - Two volume Austrian holding, starting with a Minkus album with pages to 1981 and with a lovely selection of mint, used (and sometimes both), including lots of "back of the book", noting some better semi-postals and airmails. The album concludes with occupied or administered areas such as Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The collector has tucked in many duplicates under other mounted stamps, often for nice cancels, but who knows what else could be here. The second value is a large three ring binder with what appears to be the collector’s 20th century duplicates, with thousands more stamps here to increase your enjoyment. These types of lots do not come around often. Estimate = $400.00 $22.00
Belgian Congo #6-13. Complete used set of the King Leopold II series of 1887-1894, each with a decent circular date stamp cancel. The good 5fr violet has an expertization mark on the reverse. One of the key Belgian African colonial sets. 2023 Scott US$1120.00 = $1,512.00 $10.00
Belgian Congo #14/62. A pair of stockpages with 45 different, mostly used, examples from the various pictorial issues from 1894-1915. The #14 and #33-35 are mint, the rest are used. Includes different perforations, colours, designs, etc. Most notable is the #29 (has a bit of a rounded corner, which may be "natural" from the perforation process) and #30. What makes this lot even better is that most of the used examples were selected for the desirability of their postmark, so even if you already have some or all these stamps, check them to potentially upgrade your collection. A couple have owner’s markings on them. Total 2023 Scott US$475.70 = $642.50 $28.00
Belgian Congo & Congo #64/322, B5/B26, C1/C17, J1/J12 and 323/352. Clean collection of mostly used issues from around the end of WWI to the first couple of overprinted sets by independent Congo. An attractive range of singles, sets, overprints, with some good back of the book. There is a mint (used and very lightly hinged) semi-postal souvenir sheet B26, airmail sheetlet C11a and the Congo overprints. The used includes high denominations with catalogue values to $20.00 each and many with nice cancels. The front of the collection catalogues US$446.65. And if you like cancels, look to the back of the binder, with several black stockpages and some "map" pages showing location of towns. These are stunning cancellations, there are about 150 of them, and not catalogued. Estimate = $200.00 $42.00
British Commonwealth - Antarctic Grouping. Falklands Islands Dependencies / South Georgia / British Antarctic Territory selection of 192 mint hinged / never hinged stamps, neatly laid out on stockpages. The earlier material (George VI) is hinged, with much of the Elizabethan material being never hinged. A good array of material, including many complete sets, 1946 Peace issue, 1948 Royal Wedding, 1949 UPU, overprints etc. 2025 Scott US$269.60 = $363.95 $16.00
British Commonwealth - Atlantic and Antarctic colony issues, the balance of a dealer’s stock that we have been breaking up. These are album and stock pages, 2x 16-page Lighthouse stockbooks, glassines, cards and some loose stamps that never made it to sale. Includes Ascension, lots of British Antarctic Territory, and touch of South Georgia, AAT, Ross Dependency. Almost all mint, with some light duplication. Issues up to 2002, but generally coverage is lighter after 1980. Estimate = $150.00 $22.00
British Commonwealth - Bankers box filled with random, loose and varied album pages from a variety of sources. Lots of Caribbean, with some African and to a lesser extent, Oceanic colonies. We only took a quick look into this lot, and noted a range of mint and used, with a bit back to Queen Victoria mostly stopping by 1980, with the occasional obviously better item (e.g. Montserrat 1948 Royal Wedding), but this will need a collector/harvester to pull out its best. The balance of an estate. Offered as received. Estimate = $140.00 $13.00
British Commonwealth - British America collection in a Scott Specialty album, with pages to 1960. We noted Antigua, Bermuda (George VI "Keyplates" to 5/-), British Honduras, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, some from "the Saints", Trinidad, etc. A bit "hit or miss" throughout, with more used than mint. Lots of common items and short sets, but with better singles and nice cancels noted. If particular interests is a Guyana 24c double overprint on a mint single, unfortunately might need to be soaked to remove it from the page, listed in Gibbons at £200.00). Hundreds of stamps and an album in excellent condition (binder alone retails $80.00). Estimate = $200.00 $38.00
British Commonwealth - British American accumulation with lots of album fragments, noting earlier Bahamas, 1980’s Antigua (and with Barbuda), with some Guyana, Grenada, Turks and Caicos, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago. Everything is mixed in this lot: mint and used, sparse and thorough, classic and modern, etc. Great exploration and sorting lot. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
British Commonwealth - British Caribbean assorted dealer stock, with a few classics, back to the 1935 Silver Jubilee and then with a lot more modern "collector targeted" issues, such as Royal Family, Michael Jackson, Elvis, topicals, etc. with imperforates, inverted centres, etc. Most are mounted on dealer cards or stockpages. A large handful of material that would have had enormous initial cost. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
British Commonwealth - Complete mint King George V Silver Jubilee common design and Scott-listed other designs. Fresh, mint, many never hinged, the balance lightly hinged in clear mounts on quadrilled pages housed in a "Simplex" springback album. Not often seen with this completeness and quality. 2024 Scott US$1401.00 = $1,891.36 $200.00
British Commonwealth - Decent material that is so chaotic and disorganized that the previous owner put this off long enough to eventually declare "enough, can’t do it". This lot of Pacific Islands (or Oceania) has nice material in plain sight, but it will need a collector with more time and patience than the previous owner could spare. Mint and used, light duplication, going back to the early 20th century with some overprints for New Zealand-administered islands (with Admirals to 3/-), up to about 1990. Noted Fiji, Papua New Guinea (including a 10/- bird overprinted "Specimen"), Tuvalu, New Hebrides, Pitcairn Islands, Tonga, Norfolk, Christmas, Aitutaki, Kiribati and the list goes on (no Australia or NZ). Lastly, there is a 64-page stockbook, album pages, presentation packs, glassines/envelopes. A wonderful opportunity here for the intrepid sorter. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
British Commonwealth - Old and well-loved 1960 British Asia Minkus album. A mix of mint and used, from light to heavy coverage, classics to the early 1970s and a bit of topical material. Includes material from Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Labuan, Maldive Islands, Muscat (and Oman), North Borneo, Palestine, Qatar, South Arabia and Yemen. Includes some British overseas offices overprints. A few hundred stamps. Estimate = $130.00 $22.00
British Commonwealth - Remarkable complete collection of the King George VI 1948-49 "Silver Wedding" issue including all common design issues (e.g. Hong Kong, Malayan States), plus a complete run of Scott-listed non-common designs. Fresh, mint, most are never hinged on quadrilled pages in clear mounts. Perfect for dealers and collectors, alike. 2024 Scott US$2542.00 = $3,431.70 $350.00
Canada #1. Very Fine four-margin (large to huge all-around) used example of the 1851 issue 3 Penny Beaver imperf on horizontally laid paper (good strong laid-lines visible). Tidy 7-ring target cancel, making for a wonderful example of Canada's "number one". 2024 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00 $210.00
Canada #2. Sound and VF used example of the 1851 issue 6p Consort on vertically laid paper (good strong laid-lines visible). Large and even margins all around. Light and unobtrusive 7-ring target cancel. An attractive and fault-free Canadian pence issue classic. 2024 Scott US$1,500.00 = $2,025.00 $300.00
Canada #4. VF used example of the 1852 issue 3p beaver imperforate on medium wove paper. Four full margins (about as good as it gets), sharp impression, 7-ring target cancel. A pretty stamp! 2024 Scott US$225.00 = $303.75 $22.00
Canada #4/611. Minkus pages with a great exploration of the first 100+ years of Canadian stamp issuance. Includes a 3p beaver with three nice margins, some "Cents", a few Large and Small Queens, Jubilees from the 1/2c to 50c (mostly mint), with some mint and used Victorian, Edward VII and Quebec issues. After the Admiral set, most sets are fairly complete, with the lower denominations often being mint, such as the KGV Scroll, Arch, issues. There are multiple mint dollars such as the Destroyer, Champlain, Ferry, Fishing. No "back of the book", but there is a bit of duplication where the collector has hinged extra stamps in, underneath. There are a few nice cancels noted. The biggest challenge for this collection is the condition, which is diverse. Much of the earlier is faulty, the mint heavily hinged, but this is mixed in with a number of really nice clean singles here and there. The catalogue is enormous, but we have decided to give this an estimated value. Estimate = $400.00 $20.00
Canada #4d. Sound and VF used example of the 3p beaver on thin paper. Full to huge margins all around, attractive blue cancel. Very pretty! Comes with a 1996 Green Foundation certificate. Unitrade is $300.00 for a stamp of this quality. 2024 Scott US$225.00 = $303.75 $13.00
Canada #5. Fresh and VF used example of the 1855 issue 6p slate gray Albert imperforate on wove paper. Sharp impression, four large margins. A real pence issue beauty. 2024 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00 $210.00
Canada #5b Cover. Fine appearing example of the 6p greenish grey Albert on wove paper tied by grid postmark, sent from Brantford UC (Upper Canada) to New York USA, paying the correct 10c cross-border rate. Comes with 2000 Greene Foundation certificate which states (in part) "Canada Scott #5 (b) Used on cover, genuine but stamp is cut into at right side". 2024 Unitrade = $2,000.00 $110.00
Canada #8. Used example of the 1857 issue half penny QV imperforate. Four huge margins, tidy "21" 4-ring cancel, with light toning / soiling at top. A stunning looking stamp. 2024 Scott US$700.00 = $945.00 $11.00
Canada #8. VF used example of the 1857 half penny rose Queen Victoria imperforate pence issue. Attractive 4-ring "21" cancel (Montreal). Nicely balanced, clear to huge margins on all sides. Unitrade is $1000.00 for VF used. 2024 Scott US$700.00 = $945.00 $95.00
Canada #9. Attractive looking F-VF appearing used example of the 7½p green Queen Victoria 1857 imperf pence issue. Nicely balanced margins, tight margins (to just in) and expertly repaired / sealed tear on the lower right. A very respectable example of this scarce issue. 2024 Scott US$3000.00 = $4,050.00 $150.00
Canada #11. Fine used example of the 1858 issue half-penny rose perforated pence issue, neat Toronto "grid / diamond" postmark. 2024 Scott US$1500.00 = $2,025.00 $110.00
Canada #11 Cover. Seldom seen example of the 1858 half penny rose perforated pence issue, on folded circular from Hamilton UC, March 1st 1859 to Iowa USA. The stamp, although faded and with faults is nicely tied by the numeral grid "16" used at Hamilton. Very interesting intact "Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Canada" multiple printed page enclosure. While the stamp is faulty, this represents a very scarce example properly used in-period on circular. 2024 Unitrade = $3,000.00 $110.00
Canada #12. Used example of the 3p red "Beaver" provisional 1858 "perforated pence" issue. Fine centered with a light "Beaver-free" postmark (appears unused at first glance). Short perforations along the bottom, but still very respectable and missing from most collections we see. 2024 Scott US$1,400.00 = $1,890.00 $12.00
Canada #14/19a. Used "First Cents" offering as assembled on the previous owner's album page, include notated shade varieties. While there may be the odd small fault, we have catalogued these as basic issues (no sub-listing shade premiums). 2024 Scott US$1577.50 = $2,129.65 $10.00
Canada #15. Mint Hinged example of the 1859 issue 5c vermilion "First Cents" beaver. Looks to be re-gummed, so valued as the lesser "no gum" by Scott catalogue. 2024 Scott US$425.00 = $573.75 $22.00
Canada #15 Study. Attractive used assembly of 24 used examples, plus 1 cover of the 1859 issued 5c Beaver. A nice range of shades and cancels, with some collector done work on plating / plate flaws. Expect a couple small faults, but overall a tidy offering. Estimate = $150.00 $26.00
Canada #18TCix. Imperforate trial colour proof in black of the 12-1/2c 1859 issue Victoria. Close but seemingly full margins all around. Unusually, this item has been gummed (and hinged) on the back, perhaps in an attempt to make this look like an issued stamp? You could likely remove the gum if so desired. A key "First Cents" issue proof. 2024 Unitrade = $650.00 $10.00
Canada #21/30. Collector's pages with an interesting array of 26 Large Queens, including shades and perf varieties noted by previous owner. Expect the odd small fault, but we have conservatively valued these at the basic stamp catalogue value only. 2024 Scott US$2655.00 = $3,485.25 $46.00
Canada #29vi. F/VF mint hinged part-original gum example of the 15c grey-violet Large Queen, with Unitrade listed plate scratch at top-left (from position 9). A seldom seen listed variety, with accompanying 2024 Greene Foundation "pink" certificate, which verifies the stamp, but indicates that it has partial original gum, "but gum added that is not original". While Unitrade adds a 100% premium for original gum, we have conservatively not added that here. 2024 Unitrade = $800.00 $10.00
Canada #34 Printing Flaw. VF mint Never Hinged JUMBO example of the 1/2c QV Small Queen, with boardwalk margins, partial imprint in selvedge and than notably a horizontal printing flaw or guideline extending from just above the "E" of "POSTAGE" and extending through the right margin and into the selvedge. Minor natural gum bends mentioned "for the record", but an exceptional stamp! Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Canada #34 Varieties. F/VF mint octet of 1/2c QV Small Queens, each with an "offset on the gum-side" variety, caused by the stacking of sheets while still partially wet after printing. A range of hinged / never hinged, but nothing obstructing the clear printing offsets. An attractive group. Estimate = $120.00 $0.00
Canada #40, 40a, 40b, 40c. Used quartet of the 10c Small Queen, with Unitrade / Scott listed shades (dull rose lilac, magenta, deep lilac rose), plus the dull rose lilac PERF 11.5x12. A couple of short perfs, but overall a clean group. 2024 Scott US$595.00 = $803.25 $0.00
Canada #45 Shades. Group of three mint OG Hinged / Hinge Remnant / Disturbed gum examples of the 1897 issued 10c Small Queen, showing a trio of subtle, yet different shades. Beyond the gum issues, here is a nice chance to pick up three sound mint examples of the 10c Small Queen. Catalogue as basic mint copies, with no premiums for shade sub-listings is US$675.00 per stamp! Estimate = $200.00 $0.00
Canada #46, 47. F/VF mint Hinged examples of the 1893 issue 20c vermilion and 50c deep blue Queen Victoria "Widows Weeds". Rich original colours. A very attractive mint duo. 2024 Scott US$800.00 = $1,080.00 $36.00
Canada #50, 53. F/VF mint Never Hinged JUMBO examples of the 1/2c black and 3c bright rose QV 1897 Jubilee issues. Each of these examples was selected by the previous owner for having extremely large "Jumbo" margins (far bigger than the average stamp). Valued as two standard NH singles. 2024 Scott US$350.00 = $472.50 $0.00
Canada #50-65. F/VF used complete set of the ½c to $5.00 Queen Victoria 1897 Jubilee issues. While there will be the odd short-perforation, this is first complete used set that we have ever offered as a single lot. The reverse side of all of these are sound, with no thins or defects. While the lower/mid-values have some attractive CDS cancels, the high-values shift into having the usual roller postmarks. An excellent opportunity to acquire a full set of one of the most popular classic Canadian issues. 2025 Scott US$5298.50 = $7,153.00 $120.00
Canada #51-54. F/VF mint Never Hinged quartet of 1897 Jubilee issues consisting of the 1c, 2c, 3c and 5c values. A few of these easily verge on VF centering. A great start to a Never Hinged group set. 2024 Scott US$442.50 = $597.40 $0.00
Canada #54. Fresh and VF mint Never Hinged example of the 5c deep blue 1897 Queen Victoria Jubilee issue. A very attractive stamp, with deep colour. 2024 Scott US$200.00 = $270.00 $11.00
Canada #54-57. F/VF nicely postmarked used quartet of the 1897 issued 5c, 6c, 8c and 10c QV Jubilee issue. All with tidy and often dated CDS cancels. Finding these mid-value Jubilee stamps nicely cancelled can be difficult! 2024 Scott US$410.00 = $553.50 $55.00
Canada #56. VF mint Never Hinged perfectly centered mint example of the 8c dark violet 1897 issue Queen Victoria Jubilee. Nice even margins all around. Unitrade is $600.00 for VF mint NH. 2024 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00 $16.00
Canada #57. Fresh and F/VF mint Never Hinged example of the 10c brown violet 1897 Jubilee issue. Rich true colour with sharp impression. 2024 Scott US$400.00 = $540.00 $10.00
Canada #58. F/VF mint Lightly-Hinged example of the 1897 issue 15c steel blue QV Jubilee. Fresh, well centered and a very respectable example of this tough stamp. 2024 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00 $0.00
Canada #59. Vibrantly fresh and F/VF mint Lightly-Hinged, well centered example of the 20c vermilion 1897 Queen Victoria Jubilee issue. 2024 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00 $0.00
Canada #60, 60i. VF used examples of the Unitrade listed ultramarine and deep ultramarine shades of the 1897 issued 50c Jubilee. A nice shade duo. 2024 Unitrade = $525.00 $13.00
Canada #61. F/VF used example of the 1897 issue $1.00 lake Jubilee. Attractive light grid "face free" postmark, well above average for this issue. 2024 Scott US$750.00 = $1,012.50 $70.00
Canada #61. VF mint Lightly-Hinged example of the 1897 issue $1.00 lake high value Jubilee. Unitrade is $1,200.00 for VF mint Hinged. Rich deep colour, well centered and worthy of any collection. 2024 Scott US$1,000.00 = $1,350.00 $110.00
Canada #62. Sound and Very Fine centered used example of the $2.00 dark purple 1897 issue Queen Victoria Jubilee. Fresh with sharp and clean "UNION STN TORONTO" roller cancel. A truly lovely Jubilee! 2024 Scott US$550.00 = $742.50 $22.00
Canada #64. Fresh and Fine used example of the $4.00 purple high value 1897 Jubilee issue, with tidy "face free" magenta CDS postmark. A far better used example / postmark than we usually see for this issue. 2024 Scott US$1,000.00 = $1,350.00 $120.00
Canada #65. F/VF centered used example of the $5.00 olive green 1897 issue Queen Victoria Jubilee high value. Clear "MONTREAL QUE 9" roller cancel. A very clean example of this stamp, with typical postmark for the period. 2024 Scott US$1000.00 = $1,350.00 $80.00
Canada #65. Fine appearing, mint hinged / full original gum, but with damage at bottom and light thin from hinging example of the $5.00 olive green 1897 Queen Victoria Jubilee issue. A good chance to get this sought-after stamp, but at a fraction of what a fault-free example would cost. 2024 Scott US$1300.00 = $1,755.00 $55.00
Canada #76. Superb mint Never Hinged sheet-margin example of the 1898 issue 2c purple Victoria "Numeral". Rich original colour, pristine and unblemished gum, with partial inscription in selvedge (natural gum skip in selvedge only). Unitrade is $240.00 for VF mint NH. A choice little Victorian era item! 2024 Scott US$100.00 = $135.00 $15.00
Canada #83 Cover. Scarce single usage of the 10c brown violet 1898 issued QV Numeral issue, used in-period on cover from Ottawa ONT (August 6th 1903) to Switzerland. Endorsed in the LL corner "AGB" (likely Andrew George Blair, MP from New Brunswick), but although members of parliament had free franking privilege within Canada, overseas mail had to be paid for (10c pays the double-weight UPU rate to Switzerland). A bit roughly opened, but a very nice "single use / on cover" example of this elusive QV issue. 2024 Unitrade = $1,000.00 $10.00
Canada #84. Fine mint Hinged example of the 1900 issue 20c olive green Queen Victoria Numeral high value. Nice eye appeal and great colour. 2024 Scott Classic US$650.00 = $877.50 $0.00
Canada #85, 86. Collector's accumulation of mint / used 1898 "Map Stamps" on auction cards / album pages including a mint imprint block of four (some perf separation, hinged top, NH bottom), 46 used stamps and 2 mint singles. Some plating work has been done, but still much to explore. Expect the odd fault, but overall a clean group. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Canada #89/302, C1-C9. F/VF mint Hinged selection of 182 different stamps from the 1903-1951 period, including the "back of the book" airmail issues #C1-C9. A clean offering for the period, being largely complete and the perfect way to fill the majority of spots for the first half of the 20th century. Expect a couple small faults, and likely some hinge remnants, but if you don't mind the hinging, this lot is for you! 145 Canada - "Picture Postage" Selection. All different used group of 28 Canada Post produced self adhesive "Picture Postage" stamps, all being "P" values with a wide-range of topics covered. 148 Canada - Accumulated from several sources, this banker’s box contains a bit of almost everything. The bottom is lined with old album pages and presentation folders (the more recent includes a set of six from the 2012 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee). There is the start of a calendar collection of the 2c QV numeral, some 5c-8c postage that moisture has claimed for all but the most diligent, a 3-ring binder contains a good start to a Centennial postal stationery collection (both mint and used), plus some other covers and a couple of cello-paks. Next is a Harris starter collection has a mix of mint and used up to 1972, an early Minkus binder has a few "Cents", "Large Queens" (noting a 15c with a Calgary squared circle cancel!), both Widow Weeds, Bluenose, Parliament dollar, etc. Good little project box. Very complete selection, including different booklet covers, lots of "P" values and better, with light duplication throughout. Noted a couple Montreal Canadiens $9.00 souvenir sheets and the "Musicians" sheetlets of 16. Overall condition is good, but a couple of longer pieces may have minor edge faults. A couple of first day covers are not counted in the total face value. Conservatively valued for the total usable postage value only. Total face value = $1,786.17 $60.00
Canada - Mint Accumulation. Old computer label box filled with 38 pocket-sized "mint block folders" holding mint (mostly never hinged) plate blocks, regular blocks and singles from the last King George VI issue up to the 1989 "Mammal" issues. The early are missing the better (there isn’t much above a 25c face value until 1980), and the issues get stronger through the 1980’s to the 37c era. There is good pickings for the plate number collector of the 1950s-60s, or the person wanting to round out their plate block collection of the 1970s-80s. Or for the person just looking for cheap postage. We conservatively estimate the face value at $250.00 and are estimating the lot at the same. Estimate = $250.00 $22.00
Canada - Mint Accumulation. Quintet of stockbooks with a mint never hinged accumulation from 1947-2001, always in pockets. Mostly plate blocks, with lots of sheetlets, souvenir sheets, the odd booklet with some "mammals", "Montreal Olympics" and later individual denominations to $5.00. Three of the albums are block formats, the rest are conventional. The stock books are fairly well worn, but have done a good job in holding this accumulation. There is some duplication. Conservatively valued for the total usable postage only. Total face value = $1,124.89 $70.00
Canada - Mint and Used collection 1859-1989, comprising of 1660 stamps mounted on Jarrett album pages within a padded Minkus brand album. We have catalogued the 1859-1951 portion (#14/302) which comes out at US$3066.65 ($4140.00 CDN), and then added the face value of the mint stamps only from #3030 onwards (face value $195.60). A decent offering to either break apart to enhance your own collection, or continue on with the original collector's endeavor (there are lots of very obtainable stamps that could be added here). Offered as received. Estimate = $350.00 $55.00
Canada - Mint madness mounted on stockpages. Seems to have been ordered by date of purchase. Includes a couple of pages of mint, hinged, singles, going back to the 20c Widow Weeds, and the 8c Jubilee up to the Fisheries dollar, with some attractive Admirals and 1930’s commemoratives. A page of coil pairs, and a trio of King George V coil "line" pairs, is followed by a very old approval booklet (priced in sterling!). The lot finishes with multiples, blocks and plate corners, booklets and a few cello-panes. The catalogue value will be substantial. Estimate = $170.00 $10.00
Canada - Modern mint Never Hinged souvenir sheets / miniature sheets / prestige booklet. Mint Never Hinged group of 22 different modern Post Office stamp packs, all still in the original Canada Post sealed packaging. These sealed packs are becoming more popular now, as there is increased awareness that the more modern Canada Post issued package material (often only available through Post Office fulfillment service) are tough to find a decade or so later in the secondary philatelic market. All sheets feature "P" stamps or "Dollar+" values only, and include Lunar New Years, Star Trek, Maple Leafs $5.00 jersey, Franklin Expedition and "Wait for me Daddy" (to name a few). Conservatively valued for the total useable face value alone (there are 205 "P" stamps, plus the high-values), but these often sell at a premium! Total face value = $240.90 $150.00
Canada - Modern Mint Souvenir Sheets. A marvelous mix of mint Never Hinged modern souvenir sheets, lightly duplicated with a wide range of the interesting and colourful issues that Canada Post has issued over the past couple decades. A total of 65 souvenir sheets, all bearing "P" stamps ONLY! Includes Recording Artists, Star Trek, CFL, Dinos of Canada, Pet Adoption, Haunted Canada, Chinatown Gates etc. Conservativly counted for the total postage value only, which looks like it may be set to increase in the near future, increasing the face value of these stamps. A total of 269x "P" stamps. Total face value = $266.31 $110.00
Canada - Modern Mint Souvenir Sheets. A second offering of mint Never Hinged souvenir sheets, from the past couple decades including the usual intriguing and colourful run of Canadian issues that we have come to expect from Canada Post. All of these souvenir sheets are "mixed values" including MANY "dollar plus" stamps and "P" stamps throughout. A total of 50 sheets, including UNESCO, Empress of Ireland, "Far and Wide", Lunar New Years, Photography and Christmas etc. Conservatively counted for the total usable face value only. Total face value = $206.24 $100.00
Canada - Old-time auction lot holding. An interesting assembly of mostly mint material QV to QEII, still arranged on the original 1980's era auction cards they were purchased on. Included two early Pence Proofs (both with faults) #42 unused (no gum), O10 F/VF used, Special Delivery stamps, "back of the book", BC Airways, Commercial Airways 1931 Semi-Official Flight, 1938 Pictorial Set (mint hinged), #790 printed on gum side, #790 misperf block and several others. Take a good look a the photos to appreciate the scope of the lot, well worth our conservative estimate. Estimate = $250.00 $16.00
Canada - One man’s castaways are another collector’s treasures. This banker’s box is mostly album and manila stock pages, with thousands of used stamps from the 1940’s-1990’s, with some nice "back of the book". But as we were repacking it, a couple of envelopes slid out that we took out the best and mounted them on a card, as there is a 3p Beaver (tear), along with "Cents", Large Queens, Small Queens, Widow Weeds, a couple better "Leaf" and "Numerals" with some Jubilees and a couple of KGV era "Paquebot" cancels on piece. We could have also titled this box: From the sublime to the ridiculous. Who knows what else lurks in this estate remnant. Estimate = $170.00 $34.00
Canada - Postcards - WWI Military Camp, Petawawa ONT. Another WWI military camp high-quality offering. This time with 9 RPPC (real photo postcards) from the Military Training Camp at Petawawa, Ontario. Includes scenes of Howitzer, "60 Pounder", church service, Battery Gun drill and views of the camp. Each item is individually sleeved and priced. Total retail as marked = $495.00 $22.00
Canada - Presentation folders, postage and potential. A collector’s leftover box of "new issues" purchases including folders, loose stamps. Includes 2 sealed copies of the 2000 Millennium collection, lots of 1990s - early 2000’s folders and (mostly) complete booklets. Lots of plate blocks from the 1970s-1990s. There are even a few issues up to last year. This was a partial postage box, collection duplicates and recent purchases not yet incorporated. Conservative face value of the stamps only = $1,021.77 $36.00
Canada - Selection of better modern issues missing from most collections. Includes the 1992 "Signed" souvenir sheet on Harrison paper (Unitrade #1407ai - $125.00), the $5.00 Moose with offset (#1693ii - $100.00), two copies of the good (first) NHL All-stars self-adhesive booklet which was not included in the annual collection (#1972 - cat $90.00 each), plus a complete set of the "Write me, Ring me" in unopened packages (#2045-2048 - cat. $200.00). All in as-issued condition. Total 2024 Unitrade = $605.00 $32.00
Canada - Teal tub of treasures?!? A 68-litre rubbermaid bin packed with loose stamps, kiloware, baggies, envelopes, bundleware, album and stock pages. We noted a bit of Small Queens, up to the turn of the next century, with several Grizzlies. There are individual items of value, cancel and variety potential, probably from over a dozen different sources, but needing someone who has the patience to sort the wheat from the chaff. Many thousands of stamps, enormous catalogue value, moderate to heavy duplication is to be expected. Offered as received. Estimate = $160.00 $11.00
Canada - Thematic Collection / Special Edition, Canada "Back of the Book" collector's holding in a shoebox. A very clean offering of the often neglected Post Office issued "back of the book" (items listed in the back of the Unitrade catalogue) products, most still in the original packaging. Includes Post Office souvenir collections 1968-1974 (inclusive, the small format cards in envelopes), several thematic collections (Public Gardens, Ships of Canada, Endangered Wildlife, Olympics, Wildlife, 1976 Olympics, "Singing Songs to the Spirit", 1994 Commonwealth Games etc. Lastly is the complete set of the 2012 QEII Diamond Jubilee packs (plus separately sold storage folder), these catalogue $76.00 alone. A total of 31 items, perfect to knock off a few of those pesky thematic listings. Estimate = $120.00 $22.00
Canada Cancels - Alberta post marks Elizabethan-era holding in four parts. There is a mounted collection of Calgary and Edmonton sub offices and slogan cancels on stamp, piece and receipt, with many rubber hand cancels which are very difficult to find. Next is a nice group of split-ring cancels, mostly on piece or stamp, covering much of the province (could be some better towns lurking here). There is a fragment of a mounted post office collection here, with details of the post office and a few modern cancels (only covers post offices starting with "AR"). Finally, there is a bundle of registered covers from "A" to "C" post offices (no Calgary), sent to the Health insurance plan, most 1974-84 with registration and early POCON markings (these may take some patience to remove from the homemade album). Terrific for the post mark collector. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Canada Cancels - Fredericton NB Squared Circles. Interesting lot of 137x Fredericton NB Squared Circle cancels on QV Small Queens, Jubilee and Leaf issue stamps. Primarily on 3c Small Queens, with the quality of strikes being well above average, as these look to all be dated copies (not many partial strikes, if any here). A great way to enhance your squared circles or date / calendar collection. Estimate = $120.00 $10.00
Canada Cancels - Free-for-all cancel extravaganza with half the box consisting of a few thousand stamps and most selected for their cancel, with very little organization. The balance of the box is an assortment of covers (many #8 sized) from three different corporate sources, most kept for their hand cancels. Most provinces have some representation, but the strength is Alberta and BC. The balance of an estate offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $22.00
Canada Cancels - Saskatchewan town cancels "A" to "L" post offices, over 2000 pieces from many different towns (each identified with Topping rarity factors listed) in an older 48 divided-page stockbook. Almost all are 20th century, with strength in the QEII era, but not much seen after 1985. Good mix of split ring, CDS, duplex, MOTO, MOON, POCON. Estimate = $250.00 $120.00
Canada Cancels - Trio of "open face" red dealer boxes with "102" cards, with an estimated 1500 "102" cards inside of them, each with a single stamp, with many being "socked on the nose", and many others being easily readable. Includes some King George VI material and we didn’t see any stamps past 2000. Given the deterioration of the rubber bands that were holding the little bundles together, this group hasn’t seen the light of day for many years. The only downside to this lot is the lack of organization. It looks like most of the cancels are Alberta, BC and Ontario, but there are pockets of other provinces. Many of the cards include the Scott number of the stamp, and the name of the town and province written in pencil. Estimate = $200.00 $46.00
Canada Covers - "Ship" topical cover / postcard offering of 22 items, still mounted on the original collector's hand-written album pages. Seemingly an Eastern Canada oriented grouping, with several better usages / postmarks throughout. Noted ships SS Belle Isle, SS Nova Scotia, SS New Northland, SS Cumberland County, SS Gaspesia etc (to name a few). At sometime, values were assessed in pencil, which seem quite reasonable. Estimate = $140.00 $11.00
Canada Covers - Alberta Postal History. A modern marvel of 958x special Post Office "Pictorial" illustrated postmark covers from the 2005-2019 period, organized alphabetically within two shoeboxes. These illustrated postmarks were often used to mark anniversaries or prominent tourist attractions within these small towns (such as a Star Trek postmark for Vulcan AB). Duplicated throughout, with the collector often aiming to get at least two from each town. These were often only able to be acquired by collectors by sending in self-addressed stamped envelopes to these Post Offices. A mountain of time (and postage) went into assembling this offering. Estimate = $300.00 $55.00
Canada Covers - ASSA Assiniboia Postal History. A compact, yet enticing offering of Assiniboia postal history, including five postcards and a duo of "Map Stamps", mostly loose with one mounted on collector's page. Postmarks on postcard include Grenfell 1887, Moosomin 1906, Lipton 1907, Carnduff 1907 and Bladworth 1907, followed by a complementary 1899 Qu'Appelle Station ASSA and 1900 Indian Head ASSA CDS cancelled "Map Stamps". Estimate = $120.00 $22.00
Canada Covers - BC British Columbia Postal History. A "modern" and marvelous collection of 119 covers, all postmarked 2014-2018 from Post Offices across the Province. What makes this selection so enthralling is that these covers were all made a by a collector to feature new "Retail Centre" Post Offices only, with many Post Office names we have never seen or heard of before! While we can't name them all here, some notables were "Mt.Lehman Center P.O. Great Canadian Dollar Store", "Seven Oaks P.O. Sheffield Express", "High Street P.O. London Drugs", "Bainbridge P.O. Burnaby", "Ocean Grove P.O. Campbell River", "Tyee P.O. Campbell River", "Askew Creek P.O. Chemainus", "Blue Mountain P.O. Coquitlam" etc. There is very little recorded on these modern postmarks, so much of what is out there is unknown. Many of these modern Post Offices are only open for short periods, or have their P.O. hammers switched out regularly. A great opportunity for the BC postmark hound. Estimate = $150.00 $32.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. A bakers dozen (13) item offering of intriguing "odd-ball" BC postal history items, each selected for an interesting aspect / postmark. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00

Okanagon BC 1884 (first spelling, vs current Okanagan) split ring cancel, Small Queen cover to "Richmond P.O., North Arm Fraser River" via Kamloops and "Missent to Victoria, British Columbia" (boxed marking, which explains why it is also backstamps Victoria BC, as it made an unintended trip to Vancouver Island). The Post Office used this spelling between 1872-1912, but early covers are scarce! Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Canada Covers - British Columbia Postal History. Sayward Alberni 1887 split ring cancel, incoming Small Queen cover from St.Williams ONT. The highlight of Canada's Centennial year, this exposition was open for 183 days and had more than 50 million paid admissions. While we see the odd postcard here and there, this is by far the largest group we have seen. Estimate = $ $120.00 $13.00
Canada Covers - First Day Cover Holding. A shoebox, containing 608 First Day Covers from the 1960's to early 2000's (with a few earlier), being a mix of both Canada Post Official cachet and private cachet covers. Not much in the way of duplication here, as these were assembled by a collector as the stamps were issued, or came his way. We noted some Post Office sealed packs, large format covers, MANY plate blocks, souvenir sheets etc. A good sort ahead, conservatively estimated at less than 20c per cover. Estimate = $120.00 $16.00

Canada Covers - Modern FDC First Day Cover Holding. A shoebox crammed full of 553 Canada Post Official First Day Covers from the 1999-2014 period, as accumulated by a collector. There is seemingly no duplication here, which suggest that this would be a near complete run of issues for the period. We noted many higher value souvenir sheets, "P" stamps and "Dollar Plus" stamps throughout. The face value of the stamps alone adds up to $832.00, which puts the original Post Office retail price well over $1000.00! A great opportunity to get a modern run of material. Estimate = $250.00 $32.00
Canada Covers - Modern FDC First Day Cover mini-holding. A collector's accumulation of 177 covers from the 2000-2019 period, all being Official Canada Post cachet First Day Covers. Several better noted, including several sealed packs, Lunar New Year souvenir sheets, high-value souvenir sheets, many "P" stamps, dual frankings and more! 199 Canada Covers - Postal Stationery "wholesale" unused offering (unused, fully usable, flaps not-stuck) offering of 1180x 45c value envelopes, either featuring "Birds of Canada" or "Edmonton". While this might be quite the large batch for the "one of each" collector to take on, this group would ideally work for the internet / mail dealer, as these can easily be uprated to the current rate and be used as "discount postage" with the envelope included! Valued on that aspect. Total face value = $531.00 $65.00
Canada Covers - Postcards - WWI Military Camp, Borden ONT. 201 Canada Covers - Postcards. Edward Goodall Postcard Accumulation. Attractive group of 126 seemingly all different cards from Goodall’s early pencil sketch views to the Watercolor view cards that he produced later in his career. All neatly arranged in a padded postcard album. Goodall’s scenes feature largely buildings, homes and ships from Victoria and area, but also some Vancouver and parts of Vancouver Island. Goodall opened a studio located at his house in Oak Bay (Victoria) in 1945 and worked on his pencil sketch images which he then had printed to fill orders for postcards sales. In the late 1950’s he changed his medium, switching to watercolor images rather than pencil sketches. A nice showing of this ever-popular BC artist. Estimate = $300.00 $10.00
Canada Covers - Prepaid (International) Stationery Postcards x80. A diverse, yet duplicated offering of 80 postcards (some still in the original sealed plastic wrap), issued with prepaid international rate postage (for use anywhere in the world). The face value of these postcards increases with every postal rate hike! Conservatively valued for the total face value (due to increase) that they currently represent ($2.92 each). Total face = $233.60 $34.00
Canada Covers - Private Perfin Covers. A collector's accumulation of 51 covers and postcards, all with private perfin stamps from the Edward to QEII period. No "OHMS" examples here, but a good showing of Railway (CPR, CNR) among others. We noted at there are at least a dozen Admiral era items! Some identified (often in the original sleeve from when purchased), others unmarked and unresearched. Offered as received. Estimate = $140.00 $32.00
Canada Covers - RPO Railway Post Office accumulation. A wild-range of 152 RPO cancels on postcards / covers, as put aside / accumulated by a collector but were never processed. Runs from QV to QEII, but the majority of the items are in the Edward VII / George V era, from "coast to coast" with Western, Ontario / Quebec and Eastern railway runs represented. Some of the covers / postcards are still in the original dealer sleeve from when purchased, others are just as found (and seemingly unchecked). A nice opportunity to sit down with your RPO handbook and figure these out. Estimate = $150.00 $55.00
Canada Covers - Saskatchewan Postal History. Modern Postmark Marvel! A collector's ambitious assembly of 581 covers from the 2013-2019 period, organized alphabetically in a shoebox, acquired by mailing in self-addressed stamped envelopes to Post Offices across the Province to acquire a run of "modern" postmarks. Lightly duplicated (as the collector often wanted two examples), but a marvelous run of modern POCON, Retail Centre and Postal Outlet postmarks. Many of these postmarks were only used for short-periods before either the Post Office outlet changed location (or "hammer"). A considerable amount of time and money was spent putting this assembly together and would be near impossible to duplicate. Estimate = $200.00 $36.00
Canada Covers - Semi-Official Airmail Covers. Batch of 6 different semi-official stamps, used on cover from the 1925-1931 period. 208 Canada Covers - Semi-Official Airmail. A quintet of CL42 franked 1928 Yukon Airways & Exploration Ltd, semi-official airmail covers / flights, including a couple of Pilot Signed examples. A fair offering of this popular area of Canadian Aerophilately. 2024 Unitrade = $325.00 $12.00
Canada Covers - Special Event, Custom and Commemorative Envelopes Produced by Canada Post. An array of 28 different 2008-2016 specially produced event covers with "pre-printed" postage stamps (printed directly on the envelope), produced by Canada Post to commemorate special events. These covers are now all listed in the back of the Unitrade catalogue, but finding them now in the secondary market has been a challenge as many collectors did not opt into purchasing these at time of issue. Far harder to find than the catalogue might indicate. Estimate = $120.00 $11.00
Canada Covers - WWI Postcard. An astounding offering of 25 postcards, all featuring Canadian Troops or with a Canadian Army connection. Many RPPC (real photo postcards), including Nurse Military Hospital staff, Hospitals, military training, rifle range, Red Cross train, monuments, Canadian Railway Troops (Windsor NS), Bramshott Camp etc. While some of the Canadian connections are obvious, a few appear to be British, with the connection not being obvious at first glance. Each item is individually sleeved and priced. Total retail as marked = $850.00 $42.00
Canada Literature - A useful "10-pack" of Canadian philatelic literature, packed into a large shoebox, with a clear flair for Postal History related topics. The seldom seen original 1962 Hardcover Limited Edition, published by the Royal Philatelic Society, #124 of 350 copies, 223 pages with colour frontispiece and black and white photographic plates. In fair condition, with some slight bumping along the edges (not bad for a 63 year old book!). A wealth of information inside here, including printing process, the stamps, the forgeries, the proofs and postal rates / usages (among others). Of interest (but not totally relevant), is that there is only one 1962 version listed on Amazon, at over $1600.00! This book includes the original auction card from when the original owner purchased it in 1988 (for $176.00). Estimate = $200.00 $36.00
Canada Perfins - Positional Canadian Perfin collection, consisting of 87 different commercial and government perfin designs with a total of 1422 all different perfins (either by stamp, design or position). (perfin catalogue #O09 and O10 varieties). A wide range of issues, ranging from the QV numeral issue to QEII 1982-1987 definitives (#75/924), with a high percentage / strength in the George V Admiral issue. 217 Canada Revenues - Outstanding holding of Federal and Provincial Revenue Stamps, which have pushed this 32-page stockbook they are housed into retirement. Federal Revenues include lots of Gas and Electrical inspections, Excise Tax, Bill stamps, Law, a nice External Affairs duo, a nice mint set of 2-leaf Postal Scripts, a red War Savings booklet (no tab) and some UIC "Fishes". From the Povinces are lots of Law Stamps including the Saskatchewan Bileski creations. The prices indicated by the previous owner on some of the items are probably over 30 years old, but a quick scan of the 2022 catalogue indicates many better individual stamps with catalogue values up to $50.00 each. The last page has a group of mostly transit tickets (BC). In case this isn’t enough, this lot comes with the original 2-volume van Dam Canada and Provinces Revenue album duo (1983) with padded binders, in like-new condition. Estimate = $300.00 $11.00
Canadian Provinces - A very attractive holding of the four colonies from the Atlantic provinces plus BC, mounted on an assortment of pages. The Newfoundland goes back to #11A, the early is mostly used, and the mint heavily hinged (as often seen), with decent representation of the Cabot, Royal Family, Gilbert and Trail of the Caribou sets, typically in a mix of mint and used, with some duplicates tucked in. The 1930’s issues are fairly complete, with some air mail and postage dues. BC, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI are all here too, in varying degrees. The condition throughout is very mixed, especially amongst the higher catalogue value stamps. Still, there is value here at every corner, perfect to cherry pick to improve your own collection. Estimate = $250.00 $75.00
Canadian Provinces - The balance of a dealers stock with album pages from several collections, mostly mint and used Newfoundland (with a touch of back of the book), with some PEI, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Chaos rules here, but there are stamps which look like they catalogue up to $35.00 each with no indication as to whether varieties are here. Expect some light duplication and places where there is both mint and used. Hiding amongst the album pages are free-range stamps and glassines. Offered as received. Estimate = $160.00 $36.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #2. Fine mint partial original gum (closer to unused, no gum) example of the dull rose 1860 issue 2½p Queen Victoria. A key pre-Confederation issue. 2024 Scott US$475.00 = $641.25 $12.00

Slightly uneven margins, generally clear of the framelines but in at top upper right. Partial "... ISLAND" oval cancel in blue. Originally torn on the top left (1cm) and expertly repaired. Still a rare pre-Confederation colonial classic. 2024 Scott US$1200.00 = $1,620.00 $12.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #5. Fine mint no gum example of the 1865 issue 5c rose Queen Victoria, perf 14 x 14. A very pretty stamp, with rich colour. "Georg Buhler" expertizing mark on the reverse. 2024 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00 $13.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #5. Fine mint partial OG Hinged example of the 1865 issue 5c rose Queen Victoria, perf 14 x 14. 2024 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00 $13.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #5, 6. Used examples of the 1865 issue 5c rose and 10c blue "Victorias", both perf 14 x 14. The 5c has a nice "35" (Victoria) cancel in blue and the 10c has a light partial "Post Office Vancouver Island" oval cancellation. 2024 Scott US$600.00 = $810.00 $11.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #7, 7a. Mint part-original gum hinged examples of the blue and pale blue shades of the 1865 issue 3p "Seal of BC". A couple minor perf faults, noted "for the record". 2024 Scott US$425.00 = $573.75 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #7, 8. F/VF mint, part original gum hinged examples of the 1865 issue 3p blue "Seal of BC" and the 1867 issue "TWO CENTS" surcharge on 3p brown "Seal of BC", perf 14 x 14. A nice duo. These issues are notorious for losing their gum over time. 2024 Scott US$410.00 = $553.50 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #8, 11. Duo of fine used 1867-1871 "Seal of BC" surcharge issues, including the 2c on 3d brown (#8) and the 25c on 3d orange (#11). Both with attractive postcards, including a partial "Vancouver Islands" and a cross cut "cork" cancel. The example of #11 has a creased LL perf, mentioned "for the record". 2024 Scott US$475.00 = $641.25 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #9. Trio of used example of the 1867 issue 5c on 3p bright red "Seal of BC", each with a "35" (Victoria) numeral postmark. Two of the stamps with straight-edges, but still a presentable group. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #9 on Piece. Fine used example of the 1869 issue 2c on 3p bright red "Seal of BC", perf 14 on "Wells, Fargo & Co." USA Postal Stationery cover piece, with USA postage (stationery) and "35" numeral cancel in blue (Victoria) on the BC issues, which ties it to the piece. Catalogued as a used single stamp only, but worth considerably more. 2024 Scott US$250.00 = $337.50 $11.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #11. Fine used example of the 1869 issue 25c on 3p orange "Seal of BC", perf 14 x14. Light (but legible) "35" numeral cancel in black (Victoria). 2024 Scott US$325.00 = $438.75 $13.00

Canadian Provinces - British Columbia #16. Sound and Fine mint, traces of original gum, hinged example of the 1869 issue 25 CENTS surcharge on 3p orange "Seal of BC", perf 12½ x 12½. A rare pre-Confederation classic in any condition, let alone as nice as this. 2024 Scott US$1,150.00 = $1,552.50 $270.00
Canadian Provinces - British Columbia - An interesting appearing, but altered example of a circa 1860 "Dietz & Nelsons British Columbia and Victoria Express" stationery cover sent to Lytton. The cover is franked with a pair of British Columbia & Vancouver Islands #2, but the stamps were added at a later date and do not belong to the cover. Still, a historically important item from Victoria to Lytton, which would be worth thousands if not altered. Estimate = $200.00 $22.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #1, 1a. Used examples of the red and dark red shades of the 1851 issue 3p imperforate. Both with Fine used appearance, each with small thins and margins cut-in on at least one side. Note that the example of #1 has a clear St John numeral cancel (#1). 2024 Scott US$1200.00 = $1,620.00 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #1b. Bisect of the 3p red imperforate on piece, clearly tied by grid cancel. A very interesting item, which was previously sold on the January 8th 1983 F.E.Eaton auction in Vancouver (previous owner paid $265.00 in 1983!) On a full cover this catalogues $6,000.00 (2024 Unitrade), but forgeries are known to exist of these. Sold as-is. Estimate = $300.00 $11.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #2. VF appearing used example of the 1851 issue six pence olive-yellow imperforate, with numeral grid #15 cancel (Hampton Ferry, NB, rarity factor 8, "Very Rare"). Four clear margins, but with miniscule sealed tear below the "N" of "PENCE", which does not overly impact the appearance or collectability of this BNA Classic with a rare numeral grid postmark. 2024 Scott US$1,200.00 = $1,620.00 $80.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #6-11. Mixed condition mint set of the 1860-1863 decimal issues (most with no gum, see notations). Note that the example of #10 has a small nick lower-left, so was not counted in the catalogue value. 2024 Scott US$215.00 = $290.25 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #8P, 9P. Plate Proof duo, including a pair of the 5c Queen Victoria and single of the 10c Queen Victoria. Both are sheet-margin examples, on india paper. The 5c pair has some foxing spots, as can often be found on this issue. 2024 Unitrade = $180.00 $0.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick #10 Cover. Choice "on cover" example of the 1860 issue 12½c blue "Steamship", posted from St John NB on April 14th 1862, paying the correct Trans-Atlantic rate to Liverpool UK (received April 28th). Small tag affixed to the cover lower left, which could likely be removed with a bit of effort. 2024 Unitrade = $400.00 $0.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick - A collector's accumulation / stockpage of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia issues, with 42 mint and used stamps, quasi-organized with several better throughout. The stamps are generally quite sound, we didn't notice any major damage, but the odd small fault (short perf etc) may be found. The mint are generally hinged, or hinge remnant or no-gum (the latter counted as used, or lowest catalogue value). A very useful group, with catalogue listed shades noted. All catalogued as basic stamps, at the lowest catalogue value. 2024 Scott US$964.00 = $1,301.40 $12.00
Canadian Provinces - New Brunswick - Mint / Used / Proof Offering. An interesting array of the 1860-1863 New Brunswick "Cents" issue, with 23 stamps and 7 proofs, all arranged on two collector pages and a single auction card. Expect the odd fault, especially in the proofs where each looks to have either a cut-in margin or paper thin. That being said, a very interesting assembly, which looks to be largely by purchased from the Eaton Stamp Auction in the early 1980's. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #11A, 15Ac, 18, 20, 23. Mint / unused quintet of imperforate 1860-1862 Pence issue stamps, including the 3p green (#11A, no gum), 1p chocolate brown (sub listing #15Ac, no gum), 4p rose (#18, hinged), 6p rose (#20, hinged) and 1sh rose (#23, no gum). A very clean offering. 2024 Scott US$362.50 = $489.40 $16.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #15A/270 plus Back of the Book. A wonderfully clean offering of 611 mint and used stamps 1861-1947, as assembled by the collector and arranged and identified on stocksheets or mounted on album pages. The mint is a mix of hinged / never hinged (with the majority of the never hinged noted on the page). A wonderful opportunity for either the collector or dealer, as there are MANY better individual items mixed throughout, perfect to keep what you need and sell the remainder. Expect the odd small fault, but overall a very clean offering. Includes blocks throughout, as well as "back of the book" airmail and postage due issues. The catalogue value adds up quickly here! 2025 Scott US$8105.45 = $10,943.75 $80.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #32, 32a, 34. F/VF unused (no gum) examples of the 1868-1873 printed "Prince of Wales" and "Queen Victoria" issues. Striking colour, very nice examples of these issues, but without gum. 2024 Scott as mint US$1075.00. Estimate = $120.00 $0.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #61-74. The complete 1897 issue Cabot/Discovery commemorative set of 14 in fresh and F/VF mint hinged / hinge remnant condition. A superior quality complete set of a popular 19th century BNA issue. Some very nice VF stamps noted in this group, with the only real blemish being a "gum bleed" on the 35c value, mentioned "for the record". 2025 Scott US$331.45 = $447.50 $13.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #87-97, 92A, 87a, 87b. Complete mint Hinged set of the lithographed 1910 "Sir John Guy" commemorative issues, plus two additional listed perforation varieties of the 1c James I issue. Some very well centered stamps in this group. 2024 Scott US$648.00 = $874.80 $15.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #104-114. Complete Fine to Very Fine mint Hinged 1911 Royal Family set of 11. A great early Royalty topical set with three different Kings or future Kings of England depicted, as well as a Governor General of Canada. A couple "foxing" spots noted "for the record", but the owner has also pointed out two possible re-entries. 2024 Scott US$368.25 = $497.15 $22.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #115-126. Complete mint hinged set of twelve of the "Trail of the Caribou" WWI memorial issue of 1919. A great WWI thematic series, one of the most iconic sets from Newfoundland. 2024 Scott US$293.25 = $395.90 $12.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #131-144. Fresh and Fine/Very Fine mint Hinged complete 1923-1924 Pictorial set of 14. A very respectable example of this complete set. 2024 Scott US$187.35 = $253.00 $15.00

Complete F/VF mint hinged set of the 1933 Sir Humphrey Gilbert issue (14 values), plus 19 additional stamps in singles / strips and blocks, added to enhance the offering. Some well centered individual stamps throughout. 2024 Scott US$290.05 = $391.60 $12.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #C6-C7, C9-C10. VF mint Never Hinged quartet of the 1931 Airmail Pictorial issues, with the unwatermarked / watermarked examples of the "Dog Sled and Airplane" and "Airplane and Packet Ship". Nice fresh examples of these popular stamps. 2024 Scott US$150.00 = $202.50 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland - A value laden "old time" Newfoundland offering on album pages / old auction cards. Much of this looks to be assembled in the early 1980's and hasn't been touched since! Included mint / used / imperforates / proof material. MANY better noted throughout, including #1, 3, 11A, 15, 20, 22, "Trail of the Cariboo" etc. Condition is a bit mixed, with several small to large faults noted (short perfs to thins / creases etc), but well worth the reasonable estimation given. Estimate = $650.00 $16.00
Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland - Airmail Grouping. A collector's compact, but enticing offering of airmail related items, including the "Maritime and Newfoundland Airways" 1931 Pilot Signed cover and unissued stamp (this flight was never actually flown), the Scott catalogue listed Wayzata "Trans-Atlantic Flight" label (mint, never hinged), the 1922 "Aerial Service" stamp (listed in the Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue at US$90.00), USA Post Office Labrador $1.00 "stamp" (Cinderella / unissued) and four different 1931 Post Office First Flight Covers (all addressed to Reverend Butler). Interesting material! Estimate = $150.00 $80.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia #1. The 1853 issue 1p red brown imperforate Queen Victoria. Used, but thinned and with cut-in margins. A good stamp to fill the spot until a better example can be acquired. 2024 Scott US$500.00 = $675.00 $32.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia #3. F/VF used example of the 1851 issue 3p dark blue imperforate. Three full to huge margins, just touching on one side. A very pretty pre-Confederation classic! 2024 Scott US$300.00 = $405.00 $10.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia #4. Fine used example of the 1851 issue 6p yellow green imperf. Light and unobtrusive cancel with close / cut-in margins all-around. An attractive pre-Confederation classic. 2024 Scott US$825.00 = $1,113.75 $55.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia #8-13 Forgeries. Complete set of the infamous Fournier forgeries of the six NS decimal issues, all overprinted with the equally spurious SPECIMEN. An interesting add-on to any Provinces collection. Estimate = $100.00 $13.00
Canadian Provinces - Nova Scotia - Mint / Used / Proof / Forgeries Offering. An interesting array of the 1851-1863 Nova Scotia issues, with 40 stamps and 1 proof and 2 forgeries, all arranged on collector pages and auction cards. A range of material here, including imperforate issued (noted a #5 faulty), but in very mixed condition. Expect odd faults, especially in the earliest stamps. That being said, a very interesting assembly, which looks to largely to be purchased from the Eaton Stamp Auction in the early 1980's. Estimate = $300.00 $12.00
Canadian Provinces - Prince Edward Island - A collector's group of 15 stamps, used and (mostly) mint (some no gum / re-gummed as noted) on a single stockpage. Some very useful material here, generally in better condition than usually seen. The no-gum / re-gummed stamps were counted at the lowest possible catalogue value. Where there is likely an upside, is the 1872 series, which is unchecked for perforations (of which there are several sub-listed types in the catalogue, counted as the cheapest). 2024 Scott US$327.50 = $442.15 $11.00
Canadian Provinces - Prince Edward Island - Fascinating assembly of old auctions cards from the early 1980's F.E. Eaton Stamp Auctions, combined to make an offering of 24 mint / used stamps and 1 proof. As with much of the early provincial PEI material, most of this has small faults in one way or another (creased corner, short perf, thin etc). Included a presentable (but faulty) example of the 6d QV (#3, 1861 issue, perf 9). That being said, a very reasonable lot at our conservative estimate. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Cane of Good Hope - Exciting "Cape Triangles" offering of 16 used examples, all either mounted on the previous owner's home-made album page, or still in the original "Eaton's Auctions" sales cards (1980's). While the odd fault will be present (as usual for these issues), overall the condition is well above average. Take a good look at the photos to appreciate the quality of this offering. Left on pages and catalogued as previous owner identified, 2024 Scott US$5150.00 ($6952.50 CDN). Estimate = $650.00 $42.00
Ceylon #278/295. Specialized mint assortment of the King George VI pictorial definitives of 1938-1952. Includes different perforations, several with sideways and upright watermarks, and both of the later printings. Includes a complete set, plus Scott and/or Stanley Gibbons varieties, followed by all three of the good perforation combinations on the 50c "Elephant" issue. The perforation anomalies occurred after the bombing of the production plant in London during WWII and alternative arrangements were needed to finish the job. Catalogued as the Scott-listed varieties. Total 2023 Scott US$765.10 = $1,032.89 $42.00
China #307-310. Attractive used pairs of the "Nomads in the Desert" issue for the 1932 "Northwest Scientific Expedition" led by Sven Hedin. The stamps were sold in Peking, and several other cities at 25 times face value to fund the expedition. Nice to have these pairs intact as the "Peking" cancels are nicely centered. Very fine condition. 2023 Scott US$720.00 = $972.00 $11.00
China - Estate balance A: From what we can tell, in the 1970s and early 1980s this collector bought lots of collections of China, took out the 19th century material and set aside the pre-1950 issues for a later day that never happened. In the intervening 40 years, this material has appreciated significantly. There are several partial mounted collections and a number of envelopes and glassines (many of which are not properly labelled). Lots of inflation, provincial overprints and better issues up to $90.00 catalogue value. Moderate to heavy duplication, lots of cancel interest. But frankly, we only scratched the surface on this lot. Enjoy! Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
China - Estate balance B: From what we can tell, in the 1970s and early 1980s this collector bought lots of collections of China, took out the 19th century material and set aside the pre-1950 issues for a later day that never happened. A wonderful treasure trove for the China collector. Estimate = $350.00 $10.00
China - Part A: Amongst the most popular lots on the bidboard are these consignment or estate bundles of older holdings of China (including the later Republic and PRC issues), as most of them were accumulated at a time when this material was under appreciated. Notably random, disorganized, but with enough potential here or there, including better issues, cancels and unidentified varieties that could be lurking. This bundle meets those criteria perfectly with a handful of stock and album pages, with some glassines and a little bit of loose material, includes a couple more recent FDCs. Not much after 2000, most is pre-1980. Noted souvenir sheet #471 (filler), but other goodies are likely lurking. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
China - Part B : Amongst the most popular lots on the bid board are these consignment or estate bundles of older holdings of China (including the later Republic and PRC issues), as most of them were accumulated at a time when this material was under appreciated. Notably random, disorganized, but with enough potential here or there, including better issues, cancels and unidentified varieties that could be lurking. Rough themes from this bundle includes some 19th century "Imperial" issues, a clutch of album pages with material from at least three collections, a potential-filled bag of mint and used PRC, a couple of bundles of 1987 cancels on individual cards, a small group of "102" cards, and some more modern mint Taiwan. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
China - Scott Specialty album with pages to 1949 (binder is in excellent shape). Nothing pre-1930, with strength of wartime issues/overprints/revaluations and some post-war, there are hundreds of regular issue stamps, with a bit of "back of the book" and some "Provinces". Well organized, more mint than used, and very fresh condition. The best is souvenir sheet B9a (never hinged but corner crease, catalogues $200.00). Perfect basis for a good collection of this technical collecting area. Estimate = $180.00 $11.00
Cilicia #117-127. Complete set of nine (there is no #118 or #120) overprinted "O.M.F." (Occupation Militaire Francaise) and revalued with the 2mm spaced overprint in mint, never hinged, blocks of 10, the last lot from an old holding that we have been selling over the past couple of months. Excellent condition and appearance. 2021 Scott Specialized US$1717.00 = $2,317.95 $10.00
Cuba - Wonderful mounted collection of Revenue stamps issued during the republic period of 1917 to 1958. Neatly mounted and simply notated, with high degrees of completeness. There are over 300 stamps here including "General Revenue", "Casa de los Tribunales", "Bottled water", "alcohol", "tobacco", "legal" (including 4 on documents) "health/TB" and more! Includes used, mint, multiples and more "Specimen" overprints than you may expect. You can find the reference: Jones & Rodríguez (Specialized Catalog-Handbook of the Revenue Stamps of Cuba) 1998 online that will help you sort these out. This will be a terrific addition to any Cuban collection. Estimate = $250.00 $12.00
Cyprus #125-135. Post Office fresh complete mint Lightly Hinged (almost appearing NH) set of the 1934 GeoV pictorial series of 11 values. The colours are all just as vibrant as the day they were printed. A premium quality set, without having to pay the NH premium! 2024 Scott US$231.80 = $312.95 $11.00
Danish West Indies #1/4. A sextet of "Coat of Arms" with two copies each of #1 and #2, a single copy of #3 (these catalogue $862.50). The #4 is a very attractive space filler (catalogues $700.00). Bonus items are two different forgeries. Estimate = $250.00 $11.00
Danish West Indies #5. Specialized group of nine different printings of the 1874 1c green and brown-red definitive. A mint and used copy form each printing (the mint copies of II and IV have no gum). Otherwise, an interesting group, which could contain better. Received from the estate of a DWI specialist. Valued by basic Scott catalogue, so lots of upside if using a more specialized catalogue. Basic 2023 Scott US$607.50 = $820.13 $10.00
Danish West Indies #6/9. Specialized group of different printings of the 1874 3c to 7c definitives. Mostly used examples of many printings. Condition is a bit mixed, with the first and last stamps on the page not counted. Otherwise, an interesting group, which could contain better. Received from the estate of a DWI specialist. Basic 2023 Scott US$528.00 = $712.80 $10.00
Danish West Indies #10/11. Specialized group of different printings of the 1874 10c and 12c definitives. Five mint and nine used stamps, covering several printings. The condition is a bit mixed, otherwise an interesting group, which could contain better. Received from the estate of a DWI specialist. Basic 2023 Scott US$870.50 = $1,175.18 $10.00
Danish West Indies #12. The key 14 cents stamp of 1874, a lovely stamp with a light "mute" cancel. Comes with a 1969 "Gronlund" certificate that online translation services says, "free of defects and without repair or actual defects of any kind". We agree. 2023 Scott US$1750.00 = $2,362.50 $26.00
Danish West Indies #13/15. Quartet of higher value stamps, including the 50c definitive of 1874, both shades of the 1c on 7c overprint of 1897 (both have no gum) and a clean used single of the 10c on 50c revalue of 1895. Received from the estate of a DWI specialist. 2023 Scott US$612.50 = $826.88 $11.00
Danish West Indies #16/30. Semi-specialized group of 1896-1903 definitives and overprints. A mix of mint and used, with some different printings identified by the collector. The condition is a bit mixed, but this is not often seen material. Received from the estate of a DWI specialist. 2023 Scott US$445.20 = $601.02 $22.00
Denmark #2/462. 50+ year old mounted used collection on black pages with an excellent offering of various versions of the "Royal Emblem" including shades, cancels and more valuable (#11-15, most of the "Skilling" denominated numerals, a complete Christian X set). A quick check indicates that most will come off the pages easily. A tally of the catalogue value of the first page came in at over $1100.00 and we suspect that using a Facit catalogue may turn up more value. The "back of the book" pages are being sold as a separate lot. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Denmark #26/474 plus Back of the Book. A century of Danish issues up to 1971, in a mounted accumulation of mostly used stamps, with a nice range of "Ore" emblems, coat of arms, King Christian X definitives, an accumulation of about 40 copies of the post office 300th anniversary, including some pairs, and then just a good solid stretch to the early 1970’s, with a touch of back of the book issues. Ignore the catalogue values in the margins, as they were done about 30 years ago. A bit of light duplication that could likely be covered in the specialized Facit catalogue, but not in Scott. Estimate = $180.00 $0.00
Denmark #B1/B34, C1/C10, I1-I5, J1/J38, M1-M2, O6/O24, P1/P20, Q1/Q27. The "back of the book" section of the previous old-time collection. A wide diversity of issues, mostly used, and all hinged to black pages. Noted B1-B2, C2-C3, plus a good range of postage due, officials and parcel post stamps. At first appearance, the condition looks quite good, and all are pre-1966. Most are identified on the page by Scott number in very light pencil. Total 2023 Scott US$1024.30 = $1,382.81 $10.00
Ethiopia #268/499, C1/C76, E4. Attractive mint (mostly) and used selection of 158 different 1929-1968 stamps, mostly in complete sets, all neatly laid-out on a double sided stocksheet. A very colourful offering, which includes 1929 airmail overprints, 1961 "triangle" stamps and loads of better topical stamps throughout. A spot check showed most of the mint to be either Lightly Hinged or Never Hinged. 2025 Scott US$286.00 = $386.10 $20.00
France #323/2179, B49/B662 and other Back of the Book. Lovely mint and apparently all never hinged collection of over 1500 different stamps in a 60 black-page padded stockbook. The regular issues and semi-postals are reasonably well covered from 1937 to the early 1990’s for issues up to $5.00 catalogue value (no souvenir sheets or booklets), with a smattering of airmail, postage due and UNESCO issues. The condition is excellent, with stamps being well centred, and no perforation issues were seen. The stockbook itself has a bit of cover wear, some creased interleave pages (should press out) and a previous owner put Scott numbers in the margin in white ink - fortunately this can be countered with a few minutes with a black sharpie. A terrific stock or collection builder, with substantial catalogue value here. Estimate = $200.00 $13.00
France #938/4139 plus Back of the Book. Substantial mounted collection of (mostly) used French issues from 1960-2012, with lots of complete sets, a few souvenir sheets and an early First Day Cover, all on quadrilled pages. A bit of the 1960s material is both mint and used, and there are an inconsequential number of duplicates. Otherwise, what you have is a nice, clean run of nicely used modern French material. Most of the usages are by light machine cancels with the occasional nicer socked-on-the-nose circular date stamp. The catalogue value of this lot will add up quickly. Over 1500 stamps. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
France #4139/4301, B723-B724. A near-complete offering of the 2012 issues, all used, including most sets, souvenir sheets and both Health issues plus the 2012-2013 large format "Marianne" issues. Includes better individual items like the metallic "Handball" issue, Gardens souvenir sheets. The sheer volume of France’s philatelic production means that there is not much excess material on the market. The overall condition of this lot is excellent. Total 2023 Scott US$677.35 = $914.42 $10.00
France - Mounted collection of 1925-1960 mint and used material, including regular issues, Postage Due, Airmail and Semi-Postals. All neatly displayed on Minkus pages. The hinging looks to be done very well, with good hinges, so these should remove easily. A few in mounts, which appear to be Never Hinged. Overall, a fairly comprehensive offering of the period, perfect to be tidied up and amalgamed into your current holding, or break apart for resale. Owner's 2023 Scott US$2468.45 = $3,332.40 $36.00
French Colonies - A diverse and wild-ride of French Colonies, with mint and used, arranged on stockpages or on album pages from Cameroun 1916-1961 (#130/332 plus "Back of the Book", 143 stamps, Grand Comoro 1897-1912 (#1/28, 11 stamps), Guadeloupe 1891-1940 (#14/120, plus postage dues, 108 stamps) and Somali Coast 1915-1941 (#B2/B10, J1-10, 19 stamps). A total of 281 stamps, sure to fill a few holes in any "Colonies" collection. 2025 Scott US$519.95 = $701.95 $65.00
French Colonies - Olde-time and interesting mounted collection of French colonial material, including a nice run of Offices in Egypt (both Alexandria and Port Said), plus a page of generic "French Colonies" issues and a page of French Congo. We did revise the catalogue value from the 1982 prices listed on these four pages which came to US$475.00. The material gets a bit more scattered, but no less interesting, from French West Africa, Algeria, Comoro Islands, Sudan, Equatorial Africa, Middle Congo, finishing with a promising offering of Madagascar. A mix of mint and used, with a bit of back of the book material. Stamps are mostly pre-1950, and most have been identified with Scott numbers. Value likely lurks here. Estimate = $170.00 $55.00
French Southern and Antarctic Territories #C1-C2, C21-C22. Quartet of Airmail stamps. Including the "Emperor Penguin" issue of 1956 mint (Hinged) and the 100fr and 200fr denominations from the 1969 "Amsterdam Island Meteorological Station" issue mint (Never Hinged). Fresh and well centred. 2024 Scott US$232.50 = $313.90 $11.00
French Southern and Antarctic Territories - Small mint holding of mint never hinged singles and airmails, including C1-C2 from 1956 to the early 1990’s, plus a small group of "new issues" from 1996 that includes regular and air mail issues often in a block of 4 and a single, which includes individual stamps of up to $12.00 catalogue value each. These all will total up quickly. The bonus item is the 1987 Reindeer issue #130 tied with a first day cancel on a complementing limited edition lithograph signed by the stamp’s designer (we have seen these listed on-line for up to $100.00). Something for your collection, for your duplicates, and for your wall. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
GB Offices in China #17-27. Mint set to the $2.00 value of the Hong Kong overprinted, King George V issue. The lower denominations are very lightly hinged, and a couple are never hinged (with a touch of disturbed gum). The three high values all have hinge or paper adhesion. All have great appearance. 2023 Scott US$452.25 = $610.54 $70.00
German Democratic Republic - Overstuffed Schaubek binder with pages covering 1968-1981, plus an assortment of other pages covering 1982-1990. Very complete, including souvenir sheets, sometimes mint, sometimes used, sometimes both. Clean material, attractively housed in clear mounts. The fabric covered binder is in good shape. Over 1000 stamps here, including lots of topical interest. Estimate = $150.00 $55.00
German Offices in Morocco #1/57. Attractive page of overprinted early 20th century German issues including sloped and ornate overprints with two different spellings of "Morocco". All but three of the 29 different stamps are used, including the high value, revalues of the "Marokko" spelling. This is from a high-power collection, but still have to be offered as-is, as dangerous forgeries known to exist (although these come from an old enough collection to dispel much of this worry). 2023 Scott US$768.70 = $1,037.75 $22.00
German States - A sextet of German states on an excised stockbook page with Brunswick #8/10 (catalogues $245.00), Hamburg ($52.00), Hanover #2/23 ($108.00), North German Confederacy #1/26, O2-O5 ($344.85), Prussia #2/27 ($371.60) and Saxony #1/20 ($371.15). Primarily used, with many nice cancels. Overall the condition is excellent, with fewer than 10 stamps not counted because of condition and there is one obvious forgery. Individual stamps with catalogue values to about $50.00. Most identified by previous owner by Michel numbers (for the specialists). Total 2023 Scott US$1492.60 = $2,015.01 $10.00
German States - Baden #21/28, LJ1-LJ3. Attractive page of mostly used issues comprising about 2/3 of the stamps ever issued by this German State. Starts with the thin paper first printing of 1851 (#4a has thins and is not counted in the total, but has catalogue value of US$160.00) and followed by set that are usually just missing the highest values (#10 is also not counted). The balance of the stamps are clean with decent margins or perforations. The mint have hinge remnants. 2023 Scott US$651.25 = $879.19 $10.00
Germany #1-10. Almost complete used set of the 1872 issue, missing only the 18kr high value. An attractive grouping with a few readable and dated cancels. Expect a minor fault here or there, but cleaner than normally seen. 2023 Scott US$581.25 = $784.69 $22.00
Germany #13. The 30kr high value with a neat vertical pen cancel, on a reasonably well centered stamp with clean, intact perforations. 2023 Scott US$540.00 = $729.00 $13.00
Germany #14/25. Used group of most of the second definitive issue of 1872, missing only three of the four high values. An attractive grouping with a few readable and dated cancels. Expect a minor fault here or there, but cleaner than normally seen. 2023 Scott US$706.75 = $954.11 $10.00
Germany #138/511. A dozen complete coil rolls, including bands and starter strips, all appear to be relatively intact. Includes three denominations from the 1921 pre-inflation definitives. With the 10pf (#138, 6 rolls), 15pf (#139, 1 roll), 30pf (#141, 2 rolls) and 1941 Hitler definitives 4pf (#508, 1 roll) and 8pf (#511, 2 rolls). Not listed in Scott, but Michel lists them at €4.50 to €11.00 per strip of 10. Catalogued by the owner as 45 strips, but no premium for any starter or ending strips. Their only obvious imperfection is that a few of them have been bent a little during storage, but a spacer in the centre could round them out. Owner’s total Michel catalogue value €5017.50 ($7448.00 CDN). Estimate = $350.00 $10.00
Germany - Bankers box estate balance, with a range of Germany (plus West, East and Berlin). Includes album pages, a couple of older, but worthwhile, stockbooks of mint and (mostly) used material and souvenir sheets (e.g. Berlin Olympics, Beethoven). Finishes with five smaller stockbooks, sorted by area and time. Could be some better post-war issue, plus other interesting material from the first half of the 20th century. Not much material after 1975. This is an older holding that hasn’t been touched in 30 years! Estimate = $150.00 $10.00
Germany - Turn of the 21st century "Muster" overprints (e.g. "sample" or "specimen") and promotional/press photo enlargements, covering a few years on either side of 2000. Available to certain philatelists and people in the trade, they were issued a few times a year, often with other brochures and information on pictorial cancellations. The distribution was a bit uneven, with incomplete sets being a regular occurrence, sometimes made up in the future, sometimes not. This lot has a few hundred regular, semi-postal and souvenir sheets represented, mostly in their original packaging. We have taken some out for display purposes. Part of getting this lot will be to play "matchmaker" and putting some order to this chaos. Overall, the condition is quite good. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
Germany - Two complementing collections in a pair of post-war albums. A Borek hingeless album (black cover) with pages up to 1975, has a good range of used regular issue and semi-postal issues (previous owner catalogued this at over US$400.00 in the late 1980s). The second is a Schaubek regular album with stamps that go from 1975-1990. Well filled with mint stamps, and some matching used issues, again both regular and semi-postal, but this one has some booklet panes and coil strips, but almost no souvenir sheets. Albums would have had substantial cost, and the catalogue value will still add up. Estimate = $180.00 $0.00
Germany - Bavaria #2/135 plus Back of the Book. A quartet of excised stockbook pages with an excellent selection of issues from 1849 to the end of WWI. Every issue has some representation including the "numerals", "Coat of Arms" (to 5 marks), and good coverage of the "Prince Luitpold" and King Ludwig III" issues, including the imperforates. There are postage dues and officials from the back of the book. Outstanding condition and cancels throughout. This is better than most collections from this region. Total 2023 Scott US$1466.65 = $1,979.98 $32.00
Germany - Berlin #9N1/9N34. The 1948-1949 black and red overprints a group of 28 different used singles, most with tidy circular date stamp cancels. These stamps are an intriguing part of post-War German philatelic chaos. Includes most of the smaller sized stamps and the 2 mark with red overprint. Alas the 3 mark with black overprint is heavily damaged and not counted (catalogues $475.00). While these look good, and come from a reputable collection, but use a cautious eye when viewing. Total 2023 Scott US$418.60 = $565.11 $11.00
Germany - Berlin #9N1/9N571, 9NB4/9NB253. A "Double" Schaubek album with a very nice collection of mint, used and often mint and used material from 1949 to 1988. What makes it a "double" album is that the collector took two sets of (slightly different) pages and incorporated them into one binder. For the most part, you get a page of used, followed by a near identical page of mint (only a few pages are missing). The collection itself is quite complete, starting with a mostly used set of the UPU issue, with lots of "Bells", "Portraits" and early semi-postals, supplemented with extras in the later material, such as complete booklets, souvenir sheets and coils (not listed in Scott and either mint or used). Most are in clear mounts. Presume the earlier mint to be hinged. Around 1000 stamps, with individual sets of up to $100.00 catalogue value. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Germany - States - A pair of excised stockbook pages with a lovely collection of Thurn and Taxis (both Northern and Southern Districts #5/60 (catalogues $778.75) and Wurttemberg #2/71, O3/O132 ($352.90). Almost all are used, with lots of spectacular cancels. Overall condition is excellent, with only a couple of stamps excluded because of damage. Most are identified by a previous owner by Michel for you specialists. Total 2023 Scott US$1131.65 = $1,527.73 $22.00
Germany and Colonies - A sextet of pages excised from a stockbook, with Germany from 1880 to the end of the Great War. With a quality offering of Germany, plus occupied areas and colonies such as German East and Southwest Africa, Cameroon, Caroline and Marshall Islands, Togo, Belgium, Etappengebiet West, Ober Ost, Poland, Romania, Turkey, New Guinea, China and more. 90% of this lot is used, and there are spectacular cancels everywhere. Includes better stamps with catalogue values up to $40.00 each, and most have been identified by a previous owner by Michel numbers. Includes some fiscal issues. The catalogue value will add up here very quickly. Estimate = $20.00 $65.00
Germany and States - This bundle from a diverse estate and includes old Schaubek album pages for Germany and some German States up to about 1939, with a good selection of used and some mint (it’s a good thing that there is less mint, as the album suffered either minor moisture or was stored horizontally, and the mint are stuck down, including some 1930’s souvenir sheets). The balance is a series of black stockpages with post-war used Germany and DDR up to the 1980’s. The lot ends with a stockbook of mint Bavarian issues produced by Kenmore stamps. Estimate = $150.00 $44.00
Germany. DDR and States - A quartet of small stockbooks, each with a distinct personality, the balance of an interesting collection that we have been breaking up. Includes a Lighthouse stockbook that has a range of over 125 mint and used "States" material plus four pages of mint Nazi-era material. The Alligator stockbook is all post-war, more mint than used, with some duplication half being West Germany, the other half from the East. A small Dutch-made spiral bound stockbook has a few pages which seem to be the start of a study of the postwar German AM Post and "Castles" issues. The final stockbook has about 10 pages of assorted German states material that looks like it was the start of a dealer’s stock. Huge potential here for the researcher. Estimate = $250.00 $10.00
Germany/States and Occupied areas - Fascinating collection of many different pan-Germanic areas housed in a 64-page "King" Uni-Safe stockbook. Mint, used, cancel interest, individual stamps of value, from a local collector and offered as received. Includes Danzig, Saar, Saxony Province, East & West Saxony, AMG overprints. Most states are represented such as Baden Bavaria, Brunswick, Hamburg, Oldenburg, Prussia, Thurn & Taxis, Wurttemberg, Heligoland and more! Expect condition to be mixed, some dubious material and some mixed condition. Still a great unpicked holding. Offered as received. Estimate = $400.00 $10.00
Great Britain #1. Two different "investment" folders, each with a Penny Black. The Fleetwood folder has a four-margin copy (three big margins, and the left-hand side is clear, but barely), with a Red Maltese cancel. The second is a faulty example with no significant margins and could use a soaking! You will undoubtedly be getting these cheaper than what the original investor paid. Total 2024 Scott US$750.00 = $1,012.50 $13.00
Great Britain #3/1061. Simple, but attractively mounted, collection on homemade pages, starting with a good selection of used Queen Victoria issues, including some #33s, and better singles up to $350.00 catalogue value, plus some nice cancellations jump out at you and the occasional perfin. There is a mint single here and there (6d 1884, 1/- Jubilee, 10d KEVII etc.), but the collector hinged stamps over top of each other, so there could be sleepers (the 10/- #109 is completely out-of-sight at first glance). The KGV includes some Seahorses to 10/, the 1948 Royal Wedding "pound" is mint, as is the first set of Wilding/Castles. The Elizabethan is mostly mint up to 1984, so there will be a few pounds of usable face value as well. A nice offering, which could include a few surprises. Estimate = $180.00 $0.00
Great Britain - A diverse consignment balance that fills a bankers box. From bottom to top, we noted a binder of 1970’s presentation packs, an older collection in a springback binder back to the Penny Reds, with most of the QV Jubilee and KEVII sets used, Seahorses to 5/-, an older Stanley Gibbons binder with a mix of mint and used Machins and Regional issues, followed by what looks to be a recent and brand-new Gibbons 4-ring binder, a Lighthouse FDC album with 1970’s FDCs. Finishes with a bundle of loose stamps, revenues, presentation packs, even a large old folding map of Philatelic Britain. Hours of fun here. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
Great Britain - Channel Islands - Jersey 1/603, J1/J46 and Guernsey 1/445, J8/J41, a Channel Islands duo with a mint collection on Stanley Gibbons pages in padded burgundy binders. Both collections are mostly mint, with a touch of used (usually duplicated) material, covering 1960 to about 1990. Unusually, both albums have the pages out of order, which seems to have resulted in a bit of duplication, and makes it a bit difficult to determine completeness, but there are very few vacant spaces. All are in collector added mounts. A few of the early issues are hinged, but are otherwise unhinged, with extra material such as se-tenant pairs, booklets and mini-panes/souvenir sheets. The Jersey comes with a full run of postage dues with a total catalogue value of $455.35. Guernsey is missing the first set of postage dues and the early high value definitives re-issues with different perforations, and only the occasional stamp, catalogue value $264.90. One binder has one ring that needs straightening, the overall condition of the stamps is excellent. Total 2023 Scott US$720.25 = $972.34 $10.00
Greece #8/1252 plus Back of the Book. A large binder holding Scott Specialty pages (each held in its own page protector) with a nice collection of used (mostly earlier) and mint (mostly later). Some Hermes issues, and a solid run of material up to 1978, with a healthy number of back of the book and occupation issues. The stamps have a very fresh appearance. Most of the mint will be hinged. Pages run to 1997, but the last 20 years are awaiting your additions. The catalogue value will add up quickly here. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
Greece - Balance of an estate. Starting with two Vario-brand pages that have an accumulation of used Mercury/Hermes issues, which are both attractive and loaded with potential. Next up is a Minkus album with a large range of 1910-1968 stamps (binder could use a good cleaning, but is in excellent condition). The last part is a bundle of 20th century album and stock pages with glassines with a range of material up to 1980. Great collection or stock builder. Estimate = $180.00 $0.00
Greece - Minkus album with pages to 1986 holding a lovely collection, from the classic period onwards, with back of the book and occupied/administered areas too. Has a nice selection of Hermes heads, with a mix of mint and used up to WWII, and then a mix of mint and used to 1980 (includes better sets such as #535-38, 568-73, 582-585, 587-601, 604-617 all never hinged, these alone catalogue US$720.00). From 1980 onwards are all mint. The album is in excellent condition, many clear mounts have been added. The collector has often added extra stamps, sometimes to get one mint and one used, sometimes because of different printings or cancellations. Enjoy unpacking this one. Estimate = $250.00 $0.00
Greenland #1/326 plus Back of the Book. An accumulation of both mint and used Greenland stamps from 1938 to about 2000. The early material includes two mint "American" sets #10-18 (no overprints), and there are 5 mint "Polar Bear" parcel post stamps and two copies each of #33 and #35 (these total up to $700.00 in catalogue value). The more modern material is found in two packages which appear to be all used, with lots of $2.00-$10.00 stamps, but expect some duplication here. Estimate = $180.00 $22.00
Hong Kong #1/55. Group of 29 used and two mint Queen Victoria definitives. The early issues with some minor faults, but a couple with premium "Shanghai" treaty port cancels and one with a company "chop". The best value (and also the best condition) are the 1885-1891 overprints including #52 and #54-55. The 96c (#24) is not counted in the total catalogue value 2023 Scott US$1324.00 = $1,787.40 $10.00
Hong Kong #60. Stunning mint OG, hinge remnant example of the 1891 Queen Victoria "5 dollars" overprint on $10.00 stamp duty issue of 1874. Fresh and well centered, this stamp will be a showpiece in most Hong Kong, British Colonies or Queen Victoria collection. 2023 Scott US$350.00 = $472.50 $22.00
Hong Kong #61a/143. Definitive issue holding of 52 stamps, starting with a trio of Queen Victoria overprints, followed by a mixed offering from two watermarks on both the KEVII (including a mint example of #91) and King George V issues (noting the redrawn 25c on chalky paper (#128). The condition fairly good, but a few small faults will likely be present, but a few have nice readable cancels. 2023 Scott US$494.25 = $667.24 $0.00
Hong Kong #71/83. Attractive used assortment of King Edward VII first (single Crown CA) watermark, an assortment up to the $3.00 value. Nice appearance, with reasonable cancels. The $3.00 has a pulled perf at the top, the only flaw in a nice group, mentioned "for the record". 2023 Scott US$529.25 = $714.50 $10.00
Hong Kong #148/202 plus Back of the Book. A sextet of graph-pages holding a mix of mint and used King George VI to early QEII issues, includes a complete used KGVI definitive set, including both the $10.00 and the better $2.00 denominations (a few of the other issues have a mint stamp mounted over top the used). There is a nice mint 1941 Centenary set, plus a clean postally used Royal Wedding high value. The common Elizabethan material and half of the back of the book items are not counted in the total 2023 Scott catalogue value US$573.10 = $773.69 $0.00
Hungary - Seldom seen bankers box holding of albums, duplicates and "in process" purchases from a collection that was developing from a solid basic collection into a more specialized one. Primarily includes issues from Franz Joseph into the 1980’s, with a mix of mint and used, and a good run of souvenir sheets and "back of the book" issues. Includes an older Minkus binder, some computer-generated pages, a sparsely populated stockbook to help you sort it all out and a couple of binders with manila stockpages. Thousands of stamps here, most reasonably identified and sorted to make it easy for you to take this to the next level. Expect some duplication and overlapping. Estimated value = $400.00 $10.00
Iceland - Small balance of an estate that we have been selling over the past few months. Includes a nice, mounted collection that includes some earlier, Christian X, three from the Parliament anniversary, a few officials. This is complemented by the collectors duplicates on stockpages, within a small stockbook and on cards. A few hundred stamps with the loose ones having only a bit of organization. More used than mint. Not much from the past 30 years. Estimate = $150.00 $17.00
India and States - About half a bankers box worth of everything India, the balance of an estate. The "classic" material includes album and stock pages from a wide range of sources, with a mix of mint and used Queen Victoria issues, King George V issues to a nice mint 15R value, and other nice bits and pieces along the way, including striking cancels. There are touches of Indian States material here and there, but it is generally chaotic. The bottom of the box is lined with envelopes with what appears to be a wholesale stock of used post-Independence issues. Great exploratory grouping. The source makes us think that there could be some better hiding here or there. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00
Ireland - Compact, value-packed small bundle of album pages, dealer cards, a presentation folder, complete booklets, and Framas! From a partially disorganized dealer. Includes 1960 Europa #175-176 mint never hinged, and some 1922 overprints to 2/6, the last St. Patrick high values in corner strips of three, multiple attempts at completing the 1930-60 commemoratives (usually used, but noted some mint, hinged definitives, including blocks and different papers). There are three envelopes of used off-paper. There are even a couple of exhibit pages from the Gerl issues related to parcel customs charges! Fascinating. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
Israel - Fascinating Revenue Stamp Holding. A small but powerful holding of revenue stamps mint, used and on-document, all neatly arranged on stockcards. Includes a 1983 auction receipt from Jacques Schiff Jr, in the amount of $117.40 (1983 dollars!) paying for two lots that are included in this group (it is hard to tell which specific stamps were in the auction, but there are some glassines with lot numbers). Suffice to say, this lot needs a specialist eye, or gives an excellent opportunity to research further. Estimate = $150.00 $20.00
Italian Colonies - Diverse array of mint and used Italian Colonies material, comprising of 116 stamps neatly arranged on stockpages. Includes Eritrea 1892-1936 (#1/C12, 32 stamps, catalogue US$128.15), Italian East Africa 1932-1941 (#1/35, 30 stamps, catalogue US$88.60), Libya 1912-1946 (#2/1N1, 23 stamps, catalogue US$13.75), Oltre Giuba 1925-1926 (#1/25, 8 stamps, catalogue US$57.00) and Cyrenaica 1923-1932 (#5/57, 23 stamps, catalogue US$128.90). Expect the mint to be hinged, with several better issues noted. Total 2025 Scott US$416.40 = $562.15 $24.00
Italy Aegean Islands Rhodes #B9-B14, B17-B18, CB1-CB4. Three complete Mint OG / Hinged semi-postal sets of including the 1944 surtax for War Victims (both regular and airmail issues) and the 1944 surtax for the Red Cross. Seldom seen material. 2023 Scott US$215.00 = $290.25 $12.00
Japan #198-201. Bright, fresh and Very Fine mint Never Hinged 1927 issue "50th Anniversary of Japan's joining the UPU" commemorative set of four. Scott only lists a value for a Hinged set and the domestic Japanese catalogues add a significant premium for Never Hinged gum. Worth full Scott catalogue. 2024 Scott Classic US$150.00 = $202.50 $0.00
Korea #290a/320a. Complete run of 28 different souvenir sheets issued between 1959-1960, mounted in picture corners on quadrilled pages (they remove easily). All mint hinged (the #290 has a heavy bend), otherwise decent condition. Total 2023 Scott US$557.75 = $752.90 $0.00
Korea - A "New Issue" accumulation for issues mostly 1992-2002, with singles, sets and a number of small and large souvenir sheets. Almost all are in their original glassines, complete with the original price stickers (in US$). Noted some Millenium souvenir sheets, World Cup Soccer, cultural/art, animals, etc. Because of the disorder, it is difficult to tell how complete this is. There is a touch of duplication, the condition is generally excellent and the original cost: substantial. Not often seen. Estimate = $170.00 $13.00
Korea Democratic People's Republic - Accumulation of over 300 souvenir sheets from the "North", most seem to be 1980-2004, but the lack of organization makes it hard to determine both completeness and the amount of duplication (we expect it to be moderate in both terms). Substantial topical appeal here and the catalogue value will add up quickly. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Lesotho - Souvenir sheet stash, perfect for the collector of African material or the topical enthusiast. About 125 mostly different, and almost all mint issued 1980-1992. Often overlooked by collectors as the time of issue due to their prolific issuing practices and high retail value. This stack of individually sleeved souvenir sheets are in in terrific condition, with an opportunity here to likely buy it for less than its original price. Most catalogue $2.00-$12.00 each and topical themes include art, animals, space, soccer/football, Disney, trains, Royals, etc. This opportunity doesn’t come around very often. A bargain at our estimated value at just over a dollar apiece. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Liberia #47-49. VF mint Never Hinged complete panes of ten of the three top/high-values of the 1892-1896 Pictorial series. Visually appealing, depicting "Hippopotamus", "Liberian Star" and "Liberty". While not valued for panes / Never Hinged in Scott, these would certainly demand a premium. 2024 Scott US$270.00 = $364.50 $0.00
Liberia - 20th century collection in a Scott Specialty narrow binder with pages up to 1974. Includes a good range of mint and used issues that are both interesting (different designs, revalues, etc.) and have great thematic appeal (e.g. ships, animals, sports, birds). The "back of the book" includes semi-postals, airmails (with a couple of souvenir sheets), registered stamps and officials. Great collection to build on, the binder alone will set you back $75.00. Estimate = $130.00 $0.00
Libya and Area - An intriguing and seldom offered array of 242 mint and used stamps from the 1912-1998 period, neatly arranged and identified on stockpages, including Libya, Offices in Africa, Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and Somalia. Seldom seen material, especially this tidy, with the never hinged items noted. Of particular note are the many "back of the book" issues, including semi-postals, airmails (many) and special delivery. Don't wait for another lot like this to come around! 2025 Scott US$1425.35 = $1,924.20 $24.00
Libya/Fezzan #2N12-2N22. Mint never hinged singles / multiples of the 1951 series, including printing dates / selvedge. An attractive series, which is popular among the "Camel" topical collectors. While Scott catalogue does not delve into these numbered blocks, they were printed by the same printer of French stamps and the French versions demand premiums in the specialized catalogues. 2025 Scott US$195.85 = $264.40 $10.00
Libya/Fezzan #112-121. Stunning complete mint lightly hinged set of the 1951 Cyrenica British Occupation "Senussi Warrier" issue, overprinted for use in Fezzan. A wonderful series, in pristine condition. 2025 Scott US$434.55 = $586.65 $16.00
Madagascar - Diego-Suarez #2/11, J1. Scarce quartet of early used singles with two different overprints, the high value of the "Unity" issue of 1890 and the first postage due. All with nice appearance, with the example of #11 on a piece. A French naval base on Madagascar, treated as a separate colony until about 1895. A great niche area for Africa / France colonies collectors. 2023 Scott US$435.00 = $587.25 $0.00
Madagascar - Diego-Suarez #13/50, J3. A striking page of used stamps from this French colony, including six values with a straight-line overprint, and most of the first "Navigation and Commerce" issue ("Diego-Suarez et Colonies") and a complete set of the modified "Diego-Suarez", plus the 1c postage due on piece. Several have owner markings on the back. Far better than normally seen. A naval base on Madagascar, treated as a separate colony until about 1895. A great niche area for Africa / France colonies collectors. 2023 Scott US$472.50 = $637.88 $10.00
Madagascar - Malagasy Republic #3-7. Used quintet of the early overprints, each nicely cancelled with readable postmarks, most socked-on-the-nose. While forgeries of these overprints exist, each stamp is signed by various previous owner(s). Certainly nicer condition than normally seen for this French colony. Total 2023 Scott US$660.00 = $891.00 $0.00
Madagascar - Malagasy Republic #8-12. A near-complete used set of the 1891 locally printed set, each with a lovely socked-on-the-nose "Tamatave" cancel. Typical close margins in some places but otherwise a fresh and striking group, missing only the very pricey 5fr denomination. 2023 Scott US$442.50 = $597.38 $0.00
Madagascar - Malagasy Republic #14-22. A complete set of the 1895 "Poste Francaise Madagascar" overprint on the French "Peace and Commerce" issue. The low value 5c is mint, the 10c has no gum, and the balance are nicely used. A few of them have experization marks / owners marks on the reverse from previous owners. A lovely looking set, with normal varied centering. 2023 Scott US$425.50 = $574.43 $11.00
Madagascar - Malagasy Republic #28/128. An attractive page of the "Navigation and Commerce" issue. A mix of mint and used, with a complete basic set including varieties such as both overprints on the 2c, and both colours of the colony name on the 1fr. Most of the surcharges are represented (a couple have no gum and are counted as the cheaper version), including a mint copy of the Madagascar overprint on a "Diego-Suarez" stamp (perfs a bit close). Total 2023 Scott US$497.50 = $671.63 $11.00
Madagascar - Malagasy Republic #63/230 plus Back of the Book. The balance of a French Madagascar collection that we have been breaking up, this section covers 1903 to 1960 issues. The best is a mixed mint and used set of the "Traveler’s Tree and Lemur" set of 1903 as well as a mint set of the first postage dues. Reasonably good condition, and fairly complete, including semi-postals, airmail, airmail semi-postals and postage dues. All mounted on Yvert pages (have been three hole punched, in over-height binder). This type of material doesn’t come along every day. Total 2023 Scott US$877.00 = $1,183.95 $0.00
Manchukuo #1/164, C1-C4. What this collector did not invest in an album, they spent on stamps. About 300 mint and used stamps here, with a substantially complete mint collection and good coverage of a used one, all mounted on 3-hole foolscap paper. Includes the first definitive set complete, the 1933 and 1934 commemoratives, plus lots of the overprints (including the 1937 series). Nice and clean, a bit of duplication that we suspect is there because of different shades or cancel interest. Japanese occupied northern China during World War II makes for a fascinating collecting area. 2023 Scott US$1472.00 = $1,987.20 $10.00
Mozambique #1/477 plus Back of the Book. Collection of mint and used in a pair of customized Lindner hingeless albums, with stamps from 1876-1966. The mint includes #2, 8, 10, 15-23, 125-48, 289-92, B1/B18, RA21/38 and used #36-42, 46-48, 189-91. Condition appears to be generally fine to very fine. The only duplication is where there is mint and used. Significant catalogue value to go with the expensive binders. A great Portuguese African colony lot! Estimate = $200.00 $0.00
Nepal #10a/469, O1/O14. Small, mounted collection of 400 mostly used, and lightly duplicated issues up to 1989. Starts off with a nice used 1/2a tete-beche pair, along with 4 examples with the 1881 design. There are a few unissued stamps included, such as imperforates or official remnant stock. Otherwise, you have a solid, and reasonably thorough offering of 20th century material, with sets up to $30.00 catalogue value. The "added extra" is a near-new copy of the 210-page 1984 booklet "The Classic Stamps of Nepal" by Hellrigl/Vignola, produced by the "Nepal and Tibet Philatelic Circle". Estimate = $160.00 $0.00
Netherlands - Group of 19 different used sets (81 stamps in total), all being "back of the book" issues 1906 – 1963, including 16 semi-postal sets, 2 airmail and one postage due set. Highlight is #B1-3 with CDS cancels but NOT the common CTO date, rather these are dated "AMSTERDAM 23 12 06 6-7N". Some of the other semi-postals are CTO, as often found. Nice sound examples other than the odd short perf. 2025 Scott US$256.00 = $345.60 $0.00
Netherlands - Mounted collection of 167 different used early stamps, being all 1852 to 1939 issues. Lots of goodies, inc. #1-3. All look like sound examples, but expect the odd minor fault with stamps this early. Nicely presented on computer generated / printed pages. 2025 Scott US443.00 = $598.05 $0.00
Netherlands - Pair of albums with two mostly used collections. The first is a basic collection of regular issues, semi-postals and postage dues from 1852-1982 on quadrilled pages. We did note stamps with catalogue values to $35.00, but most of the better are missing. This collector liked cancels, and there are many nice ones to be found. About 800 different stamps. Speaking of cancels, the second part is a near-new 24-page Filek stockbook, with about 250 town cancels (sorted by province and then alphabetically) from the 1890-1910 era. Lots of potential here. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Netherlands - Selection of 287 different mint Never Hinged stamps from the 1930-199 period. We noted lots of sets, including #336-339, 361-364 and a few semi-postals issues. Nice to get these all Never Hinged, which is not common! 2025 Scott US$371.00 = $500.85 $11.00
New Zealand - Bankers box of mostly mint and all decimal-era issues up to about 2003. Lots of fragments of mounted collections (a mix of hinged and never hinged), but there is a good run of "Health" souvenir sheets from 1967-1998, a 1985 year set, some presentation packs, a prestige booklet, a small stash of the 1966 Pictorial issue to $2.00, a bunch of new issue material from the 1990’s (with some stamp show souvenir sheets). Finishes with 10 folders of the 1990 "Birds" Specimen set of six, issued at Auckland 1990. Moderate duplication. Estimate = $160.00 $10.00
New Zealand - Bankers box with the balance of an estate. The collector had laid out some of the better on a black stockpage, including newspaper stamps, officials and duplicated copies of C1-C5. The balance of the box is stock pages, album pages plus some glassines, envelopes, presentation packs, approval sheets and who knows what else. Mostly 20th century material. A fun sort ahead! Estimate = $140.00 $22.00
New Zealand - Group of 94 different 2018-2023 period used stamps, with lots of those tough-to-get recent high values up to NZ$10.00. Most are probably missing in your NZ collection as these modern issues are tough to find, especially used! 2025 Scott US$410.00 = $553.50 $13.00
North Borneo #1/71. Terrific looking page of 31 different mint 19th century issues. Includes #1, 3, four nice overprints (including #50) and most of the 1894 commemoratives to $2.00. Much fresher than normally seen with no tropical staining. The backs are a bit mixed, with a couple of the cheaper have no gum, but most of the definitives have the usual hinging hinge remnant. That being said, the four highest denominations of the commemorative set are never hinged! Total 2023 Scott US$642.65 = $867.58 $10.00
North Borneo #60/295. Balance of an accumulation that we have been breaking up. Besides the two 1912 "British Protectorate" high values which are used (as always), the balance of the lot is mint, hinged. Includes a few random sets and singles, but with better values throughout, plus a complete "BMA" overprinted set as well as the full 1961 QEII definitive set to $10.00. Attractive with the more recent being lightly hinged and the earlier a bit heavily hinged. Occasional minor fault. Total 2023 Scott US$810.50 = $1,094.18 $10.00
North Borneo #74/101. Late 19th century mint offering of 21 different stamps including 4 of the 5 overprints on the "Coat of Arms" issues, plus a near-complete set of the 1897 commemoratives (includes the 2c green, 5c and 12c) and much of the 4c overprints. Usual mixed condition, with a couple having tropical aging on the back, and hinging is generally heavy with some remnants. The 2c red #80 has no gum and the #102 high value is missing a corner (both are not counted in the total catalogue value). 2023 Scott US$765.25 = $1,033.09 $0.00
North Borneo #103/149. Eye-catching early 20th century "Animal" issues mint selection of 42 different stamps on a couple of black stockpages. Terrific appearance, only a couple with tropical staining on back. The usual wide range of hinging, with some hinge remnants, but a few in the last set being never hinged. Total 2023 Scott US$876.25 = $1,182.94 $10.00
North Borneo #208-258. Near-complete post-war run of King George VI issues, mint lightly hinged. Includes the "BMA" overprints, the "Crown" obliterations, plus the Silver Wedding, 1949 UPU issue finishing with the basic King George VI definitives (just missing the corrected spelling on the 50c). Fresh, well centered. Total 2023 Scott US$374.60 = $505.71 $10.00
North Borneo #B14/B42, J2/J54, MR1-MR2. Nice selection of mint "back of the book", including Great War-era semi-postal surcharges to benefit the Red Cross, with 13 values from the 2c black overprint and a dozen 4c revalues with the Red Cross emblem. The postage dues include some better singles and the last set of 5 is never hinged. Fresh appearance, but most with the typical heavy hinging often seen on these issues. Total 2023 Scott US$681.65 = $920.23 $10.00
North West Pacific Islands #2/49. A specialist’s dream! Two pages of Australian ‘Roos and King George V "Heads" overprinted for use in New Guinea (now Nauru). Mostly mint, as you may expect, with a few used. Somewhat sorted by watermark, but not different printings, with 5 strips of three. Lots of plate varieties on these stamps, lots of overprint varieties and numerous shades are obvious. We have counted them as the cheapest of the type, with up to 25 of a type. The hinging tends to be heavy, but the appearance is great. Conservative 2023 Scott US$989.50 = $1,335.83 $10.00
Palestine #2/18. Mostly mint selection, arranged in a fifteen-page specialized collection of the lower denominations from the first light blue issue, the first definitives from 1918, and the first two overprinted sets from 1920. Includes some mint (mostly stockbook) and used (everything else), with some specialization possible, but with very few notes. Noteworthy individual items include some "APC" perfins, a mounted collection of town and military cancels, and better such as #79 used (cat $60.00), J1-J5 mint (cat $79.00). A few hundred stamps. Estimate = $150.00 $10.00

Includes some Bureau overprints, 1932 pictorial issue, C12, C28, J1-J5, and over 100 more! Total 2023 Scott US$849.30 = $1,146.56 $10.00
Romania - A large collection on Minkus pages to 1975 that have been hole-punched to fit a large 3-hole binder (a few other pages have been added at the end). The first few years start off quietly, but from 1870-1930 it gets stronger with a mix of mint and used issues. After WWII the coverage gets much more complete, just missing the occasional value or set, and almost all the souvenir sheets). Has a bit of "back of the book" tucked in here and there. Sometimes the collector has added a second stamp (usually to get a mint and used example). A number of clear mounts have been added throughout. Estimate = $150.00 $0.00

South Africa #1/119 & BOB. Odd and interesting assortment of album pages from 1910 to 1952. Used, mint and sometimes both. Very hit or miss, but some of the better includes #15 mint (cat. $260.00), #26-#32 mint singles of both languages (cat $187.50), #38 (mint pair cat $100.00), 1935 Silver Jubilee (mint pairs) and a page of used with a couple of "cleft skull" and other minor varieties, War issues, with a bit of airmail and postage dues. The balance of a consignment. Estimate = $160.00 $0.00
South Africa #26/32. The first printing of the pictorial issue (missing only the 3d) in mint horizontal pairs. The appearance is excellent, but there are condition issues on the back, including hinge remnants and the 2/6 and 5/- have significant tropical staining (not visible to the front). That being said, these are very presentable examples of this desirable series. 2023 Scott US$701.50 = $947.03 $0.00

Southern Africa - Souvenir sheet accumulation, primarily from South Africa, with some Namibia and a touch of Botswana. Most were issued between 1980-1998 and all appear to be mint never hinged, with all being individually sleeved, and in excellent condition. Due to the number of issues and their high original cost, many collectors turned their backs on these issues when they were released. Not often seen and often coveted by topical collectors, these have significant appeal. Themes include art, lunar new year, ships, stamp shows, animals, birds, etc. About 105 different. Estimate = $140.00 $10.00
Switzerland #7/35. Selection of 9 used early Federation issues from the 1850-1862 period, arranged by the previous owner within mount on a homemade album page. Almost all have faults, ranging from major (missing corner #12) to minor (cut in margins), but as a group these have a catalogue value of US$4770.00 ($6439.50 CDN). A nice way to fill a few spots, at a fraction of the catalogue value. Estimate = $200.00 $10.00

Several hundred mint and used stamps starting with the second issue, nicely mounted on quadrilled pages (note: the collector used neat black backing paper, which will appear to be plastic mounts - they are not. The stamps are all hinged in). Despite using a different catalogue, the issues are easy to follow in Scott, with a good range of regular issues plus lots of postage dues and postal tax stamps, plus a smattering of other back of the book. The overall condition is excellent and sets and singles with catalogue values in the $15-$50 range are seen throughout. Untouched from the previous purchaser, who bought it in 2002 paying £500.00 against a plausible owner’s catalogue value of €4500. A true old-time collection. Estimate = $450.00 $22.00

The face value of the 6c-44c era is conservatively counted at US$985.00 and there is lots of catalogue value amongst the rest of this holding. The condition is a bit mixed, as normal. Minor duplication is to be expected. Estimate = $700.00 $110.00

A wild-ride of material here, which looks to be almost entirely from the QEII era (whether Commonwealth or not), organized largely by topic / thematic. Noted a good amount of topics, GB, Channel Islands and Omnibus issues (1948 Royal Wedding, 1949 UPU, 1953 Coronation, 1958 West Indies Federation, 1963 Freedom from Hunger etc). The "hidden in plain sight" value in this lot is the 172 stockpages in near-new condition (these have crept up to near $2.00 per sheet retail cost now!!). Estimate = $250.00 $60.00
Worldwide - A quartet of Minkus "Master Global" albums with pages to 1976 and with thousands of stamps from around the world with hit or miss coverage for everywhere except Canada (the only pages that we noticed to be missing). While the pages have been well loved, the binders are in above average condition and retail almost C$300.00 to buy them today. More used than mint, and a touch of duplication here and there. Pushing a U-Haul box to its physical limits. Estimate = $200.00 $50.00
Worldwide - A trio of circa 1971 Harris "Senior Statesman" binders that are very full with a broad range of country coverage including Europe, British Commonwealth, Asia, Africa, Middle East, South America (just no Canada). Many thousands of stamps here, and the binders are in above average condition. Not just beginner level material, there is potentially better material throughout, including interesting cancels. More used than mint, with a touch of duplication here and there. Not your usual worldwide collection. Estimate = $200.00 $30.00
Worldwide - Albums and stockbooks are pushing this U-Haul box to its limit! We noted an older Scott International binder (blue) with a hit-or-miss selection of British Commonwealth pages and stamps, a binder has a mounted collection of "A" to "R" countries, an old Y&T album with a British Commonwealth group of "G" to "P" colonies and a bit battered "Stanley Gibbons" springback with more British Commonwealth. Northern Europe is represented with a Sweden collection most 1950-1985 in clean mounts in a Viking album (sparse early, pages to 1985) and a 16-page Lighthouse stockbook with a nice offering of Scandinavian Christmas labels. Not to be overlooked is a United Nations collection in a Schaubek hingeless album with a near complete run from #1 to the early 1980’s, including the first souvenir sheet and the 20c-22c flag sheetlets. Finally, there is a hardcover 2015 Scott Classic specialized catalogue, an ageless reference. Lots to sift through here. Estimate = $220.00 $42.00
Worldwide - Albums, binders and stockbooks fill this bankers box. Includes a 1923 version of the Scott International 19th century and 20th century albums. The 19th century is very sparsely populated, and is in "near new" condition, the 20th century saw more activity and includes the fair ribbons won by the young collector in Regina in 1924 and 1925. A black 24-page stockbook has a few hundred used 20th century stamps. A binder contains a mix of Captain Cook, Europa and 1983 Commonwealth Day issues. There is a collection of UAR in a binder with pages 1958-1977 (and stamps 1962-1976). An old Ambassador album has a few hundred stamps, and there are three little, lightly populated, stockbooks to round out this box. Estimate = $140.00 $32.00
Worldwide - An odd mix of loose album and stock pages filling a bankers box. The top 1/3 is Middle Eastern (including some better mixed in with the "Dune" issues, with their amazing topical material). The bottom 1/3 is Malayan peninsula material of many different forms. In the middle is mostly African colonial issues, but we have only taken a glance at this lot. Thousands of stamps and looks relatively unpicked. The balance of an estate. Estimate = $150.00 $24.00
Worldwide - Another incredible box of off (and some on) paper mix from a massive estate that we have been breaking up. Mostly loose, but with a bit sorted into glassines, this lot is not for the impatient collector, unless they are going to rope their stamp club into doing the work! Layered at times, there is some Great Britain, French and British Colonies and bits and pieces from almost everywhere in the world. At a quick glance, we noted very little Canada and almost no American material. This collector was active with classic issues into the early 1990’s and then turned his attention to newer issues from a number of countries, and the lot is very reflective of this. We expect that there will be good finds, but as we mentioned earlier, you must be patient! A very full bankers box. Thousands upon thousands of stamps. Estimate = $200.00 $16.00
Worldwide - Another one of the very popular bankers box lots, filled with an unpicked group of "on and off" paper from around the world. This box is from a new source and not unexpectedly, has its own personality. Besides having thousands of stamps, with a bit more modern take, probably up to around 2005, but still with 19th century material seen here and there. A wide range of countries with no particular strength, but this one has a bit of material from Canada and United States. There is a bit more sorted material than is often seen with envelopes and baggies sorting material by country or region. There are some old packets and a bit of material on small cards. Hours of entertainment and the possibility of finding hidden gems. Estimate = $140.00 $22.00
Worldwide - Asian Accumulation. A bankers box filled with bits and pieces from several different countries. The obvious strength is China (in its different forms, including an intriguing envelope stuffed with pieces from the hyper-inflation period and later over 100 PRC "promotional" souvenir sheets that have no postal validity but add some depth any collection). We noted some Japan, Vietnam (housed in a near-new 16-page stockbook), Thailand, Korea (North and South) and touches of Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia etc. Includes some modern year and presentation sets, plus dealer stock in glassines, but also older on Vario stockpages and lots of album pages. It shouldn’t take too long to bring order to this group. Estimate = $200.00 $22.00
Worldwide - Banker’s box o’ fun (and who knows what else). The balance of an estate, this is everything that didn’t easily fit anywhere else. The bottom half of the box is loose stamps, album pages, presentation packs, etc. (noted some British Caribbean and various European countries). There is a thin Scott International album sparse, but with potential. An older, but in good condition 3-ring red Lighthouse binder with slipcase has 35 Vario-brand stockpages laden with topical-rich material, including a few FDCs. The top of the box includes a couple of red dealer’s boxes. One is filled with "102" cards, with strength in France. The second has some "102" cards, and a bit of loose dealer and auction castoffs - unchecked by anyone, from what we can tell. Lots of potential here. Estimate = $170.00 $16.00
Worldwide - Bankers box full of black and manila stockpages in binders, some one-country, others more mixed. In no particular order, noted Australia, Vietnam, Bohemia and Moravia, United States, Romania, Germany (and a second with DDR), Great Britain. A few thousand stamps here, and probably about $200.00 retail in stockpages. Well organized, most appear more common, but there could be some better in hiding. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Bankers box overstuffed with stamps "on and off" paper. This box contains boxes, glassines, "102" cards and lots of loose stamps. At a quick glance it seems stronger in Europe and Canada, but there is material from seemingly all over. Many thousands of stamps, generally 20th century. The only box of this type that will come from this estate offering. Unpicked territory here! Estimate = $180.00 $16.00
Worldwide - Bankers box with an assortment of complete albums plus album pages and stockpages. A mostly older batch, with a Scott International "Junior" album, a 1966 "Commander" and equally old "Premier" worldwide album, each with sections of strength and coverage. There is a large Scott Specialty binder with pages for Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Yugoslavia. A "Simplex" springback binder contains an interesting but a bit sparse group of mostly earlier British Commonwealth material from "S" to "Z" colonies. A 3-ring binder includes a smattering of mounted pages and a few Vario-brand stock pages. The last little bit in the bankers box is filled with loose album pages and stamps. Totals a few thousand stamps, much pre-1950. More used than mint and could include better and some cancel interest. Seems to be unpicked. Estimate = $160.00 $14.00
Worldwide - Better than average collection balance in a banker’s box. About half the box is albums, including a couple of "Traveler’s" (quite full), an older spingback binder with a collection with lots of European, plus a couple of thinner volumes with less overall material. The second half of the box is a big bundle of black and manila stock pages most filled with stamps from across the globe (noted some nice post-war Germany) and lots of pages that are "one page, one country" with lots of British Commonwealth and Europe. Estimate = $240.00 $14.00
Worldwide - Cinderellas, labels, poster stamps, plus a few others from the very back of the book. Mostly American and Canadian in origin. The USA includes (among others) an Ekko Broadcasting stamp book with a smattering of stamps, plus some revenue stamps. The Canadian includes some local courier/postal strike issues (plus a copy of the Covert catalogue), CAPEX ’51 sheet of the stamp show label (3 penny beaver). We also noted British Local Post (including JFK memorial overprints on complete sheetlets), with some German local post, British Guiana judicial revenues, philatelic show souvenir sheets. Plus, the usual mix of sheets and large blocks of TB, Easter and other charitable seals. Over half a banker’s box worth. Estimate = $150.00 $34.00
Worldwide - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania inter-war collection of the three Baltic countries in a Minkus album. Includes a mix of mint, used, with a few souvenir sheets and a good range of semi-postals and air mail issues plus the usual mix of overprints. Includes a bit of duplication, usually for cancels. A number of clear mounts have been added. Includes some Central Lithuania and Karelia. Hundreds of stamps here and a very clean offering, a true labour of love. Estimate = $400.00 $36.00
Worldwide - Europe-heavy consignment balance in several albums and stockbooks. In no particular order, we noted a stockbook with some San Marino, another with Eastern Europe, a third with USSR (in nice near-new 32-page Uni-Safe product in Soviet red colour) and a fourth smaller sized "Zagreb" brand stockbook, appropriately with Yugoslavia (and its forerunners). There are three worldwide collections in "Modern", "Triumph" and an unknown German album (lots of pre-1950 material amongst this trio). There is a mid-century USA collection that is housed in a lovely red "Rapkin" springback binder, then some assorted material such as "Nubian monuments", Portuguese colonies, a pre-WWII German collection including lots of used hyper-inflation material, a handful of mint Liechtenstein on "102" cards, plus a few stockpages with 1960’s-1970s material from Israel (mint) and the US (used). Happy picking! Estimate = $150.00 $12.00
Worldwide - Europe-strong bankers box, holding the balance of a large and fascinating estate that we have been breaking up. What has made this estate interesting is the wide mix of better and common material, but also nice cancels amongst the used items. We were always finding better items in odd places, but at some point you have to say "enough". This box has some material mounted on pages (e.g. a wide range of countries, but note Luxembourg), some in a couple of small stockbooks (Austria and Great Britain), two boxes and a bag filled with old envelopes very strong in pre-1950 Europe, much sorted by country. Didn’t see much Scandinavia or Germany at first glance. Thousands of stamps here, with potential at every turn. Estimate = $150.00 $20.00
Worldwide - Five "one-country" Western European collections in their own binders, with the stamps mounted on looseleaf pages, each in its own page protector. Mostly used, with some "back of the book", going back to the 19th century, with coverage ending somewhere between 1980-1990. Includes Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Liechtenstein (a bit sparser with more mint than the others) and France. Thousands of stamps, lots of great cancels, with individual stamps up to $15.00 each (and maybe more). Consigned from an estate and largely unchecked. A bargain at the estimated value. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Worldwide - From a consignor who knows how to make a diverse lot look both fun and interesting! It starts a bit slow with a one pound "Pot of Gold" chocolate box stuffed with off and on paper worldwide, leading to a couple of containers and a red dealer’s box filled with almost 1000x "102" cards, which seem to have no theme or reason (other than a batch of mid to late 20th century Scandinavia) and we note that these "102" cards could easily be reused. The next layer includes mint sheets and large blocks primarily Austria, Haiti and Senegal. The balance is stock pages, album pages and even a couple of retired circuit books with material from all over the world (small concentrations in Belgium and Bahamas). Offered as received. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Kiloware extraordinaire. From a dealer correspondence mostly 2000-2005. Very United States heavy (many $10+ face stamps, Madison $2.00 and Star Wars souvenir sheets, lots of 37c-41c commemoratives...), with a good batch of Great Britain souvenir sheets, and some Canada pieces with stamps up to the $8.00 Grizzly), and then there are bits and pieces from other countries. Much of this material was hand cancelled. Lots of value, lots of duplication. You are going to need a bigger bathtub (or we are going to need a bigger box, as this is overstuffing a bankers box). Estimate = $150.00 $42.00
Worldwide - Latin America bundle of leftovers. The first page shows this lot’s value with the 1974 Uruguay UPU anniversary set and souvenir sheet which shamelessly (and effectively) manages to also celebrate football/soccer and both 1976 Olympics (C395-C398, catalogues US$87.80 per set and there are five sets!). The rest of this handful includes stock and album pages with a smattering of a dozen Central and South American countries. A couple thousand mint and used stamps, most pre-1975. Estimate = $170.00 $12.00
Worldwide - Loose album pages make up the majority of this bankers box. The best is a very old "B" to "L" countries (no Germany) pre-war issues on old Schaubek pages. There is a couple of worldwide collections, some assorted pages, with lots of Asian/Indian Ocean colonies, plus a few small stock/presentation booklets (e.g. Vietnam, USSR). Some of the pages are packed, others are sparse (and some are empty). Still thousands of mostly pre-1980 stamps. There looks to be potential at every turn of the page. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Mystery U-Haul box with the bottom half being loose small sized glassines packed with what appears to be used Canada and Great Britain (a bit of which is mint). The next layer is four small boxes with a mix of glassines, cards and loose stamps (a much broader group). Topping off the box is a big bag with more envelopes and some 20-year-old kiloware (strength Canada, Great Britain, with many other countries too). Overall, most is likely to be off paper. Offered as received. Estimate = $120.00 $12.00
Worldwide - Stockbooks and binders packing a bankers box. We randomly noted Eastern Europe, USSR, Romania, Germany, South Pacific, Liechtenstein "Europa" sheetlets of 20 (many between 1962-1985), used Botswana and Lesotho, with a 16-page stockbook marked "Austrian Occupation" which includes an accumulation of mint and used "Bani" overprints and some nice Bosnia, including a used copy of #60, among many others. The lot concludes with a century old Lincoln album (a bit sparse in some places and with potential in others). Variety, diversity and interesting material throughout. Estimate = $150.00 $12.00
Worldwide - Supermix Lot A: Many thousands of stamps "off and on" paper, originating from several sources, (so there is lots of diversity) overfilling a banker’s box. Dozens of countries are represented here. Much of the material is "free-range", but a bit is organized into glassines and "102" cards. Most singles, but a few larger pieces were noted. At a quick glance, most appears to be 20th century material, with a bit of topical appeal noted and some labels and other "back of the book" seen here and there. There is probably some cancel appeal, but what we can guarantee is hours of fun and entertainment. Winter still has a few months to go, so this will help you (or your stamp club) pass the time! Estimate = $170.00 $14.00
Worldwide - Supermix Lot B: Many thousands of stamps "off and on" paper, originating from several sources, (so there is lots of diversity) overfilling a banker’s box. Dozens of countries are represented here. Much of the material is "free-range", but a bit is organized into glassines and 102 cards. Most singles, but a few larger pieces were noted. At a quick glance, most appears to be 20th century material, with a bit of topical appeal noted and some labels and other "back of the book" seen here and there. There is probably some cancel appeal. but what we can guarantee is hours of fun and entertainment. Winter still has a few months to go, so this will help you (or your stamp club) pass the time! An excellent companion to the preceding lot. Estimate = $170.00 $14.00
Worldwide - Teal tub of fun. From a voracious cancel collector, this is a remnant box from his stamp room. Some is mounted, some on cards, some are in envelopes, and much is pretty loose. From all around the world, but strength in Canada, Netherlands and Switzerland (in that order). Will include some better stamps, and lots of nice cancels, including some better. All you have to bring is your patience and organizational skills. Thousands of stamps, 99% appear to be used. Estimate = $150.00 $12.00
Worldwide - The 1949 UPU - 75th Anniversary a very complete collection of the world’s various issues, including the British Commonwealth common and non-common designs (Scott US$464.00), plus the common designs from the French Colonies (US$139.00), plus an assortment of better items such as the Lebanese, Japanese and Indonesian souvenir sheets. Attractive, many never hinged, nicely mounted in clear mounts on quadrilled pages in an "Ace" springback album. WOW! Estimate = $300.00 $30.00
Worldwide - The consignor accurately described this lot as "albums and many packages". We will add in "with strength in British Commonwealth and Europe", but there is material from almost everywhere. The albums include a 16-page Lighthouse stockbook with lots of older Latin America, a small stockbook with Western Europe with another having more Latin America and American material, with a green "Medium Senator" springback with "A" and "B" countries, finishing with an older "Alligator" brand stockbook with "I" to "K" countries (perfect for collectors wanting both Ireland and Japan). "The packages" include an envelope box filled with dealer purchases made by a local collector in a wide assortment of cards and glassines, with an even wider range of material, followed by a deep stack of about 8"/20cm worth of album and stock pages, with lots of British Commonwealth, but with surprises mixed in. Estimate = $180.00 $13.00
Worldwide - The very worthwhile box of miscellany from a local collection. Includes mounted mint and nearly complete collections of the 1937 Coronation, 1946 Peace and 1953 Coronation issues. There is a stockbook with a collection of Monaco up to about 1980. A battered stockbook holds a lovely group of worldwide socked-on-the-nose cancels. There are a couple of folders with "Staffa" gold foil issues and a couple of small handfuls of show and "102" cards with random material. The balance of the box is about 100 manila and Vario-brand stockpages with neatly organized (mostly) used material from about 50 countries, strength in Europe and Latin America with a bit of US postage (probably US$30.00) with a bit of Asia. Lots of exploring to be had here. Estimated = $200.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Train topical binder from the "Locomotives of the World" collection from the Stamp Collectors Society of America, a massive, specialized, binder circa 1986 with a selection of 708 different stamps, mostly British Caribbean and Oceania, along with write-ups and great pictures. Keep it as-is, or break it down for your collection or resale. The previous owner paid over US$600.00 almost 40 years ago! Estimate = $150.00 $0.00
Worldwide - TREASURE BOX! A 3lb box loaded with goodies, notes a used set of Canadian Millennium issue (cat.102.00), 1892 "Popular Stamp Album" in real good condition with old stamps (stuck down as they didn't have hinges back then); $190.00 van Dam catalogue value in 7 different BC Law stamps, Jersey #854b - 857f used (1999, 2000, 2001 sets) Scott US$68.00, Belgium bundle of used modern off-paper commemoratives, selection of used Alderney, USA set of 3x 1898 Army Franks (listed @ 50.00 on recent eBay), many mint & used souvenir sheets and many glassines & "102" cards with high values etc. Estimate = $300.00 $12.00
Worldwide - U-Haul box absolutely packed with both one-country and multi-country goodies. In random order, there is a nice used collection of Switzerland, back to the "Sitting Helvetia" issues, a wide-ranging Bulgaria collection, a nice offering of QEII Great Britain in a near new 16-page Lighthouse stockbook, with a study of KUT "flyspecks" and topicals, a mint sheet file with Austrian parcel post stamps plus a hardcover booklet of Greenlandic ships (Volume 1). The worldwide is found in three starter binders or albums (packed), a classy Elephant brand stockbook with a smattering of stamps and a World Wildlife Fund album with late 1980’s animal-themed stamps, FDCs, maxi-cards, etc. (with an original invoice that suggests that these cost $10 per page! and there are at least 35 pages). If all this isn’t enough, there is a small white file box with several bundles of "102" cards with a wide range of stamps. From the balance of a local estate. Not much here after 1990. Estimate = $200.00 $11.00
Worldwide - U-Haul box filled with albums, noting a mounted collection of mostly used Great Britain from the last quarter of the 20th century, another with GB and colonies, a near empty but near-new red 16-page Uni-Safe stockbook and a nice 4-ring Stanley Gibbons binder. There are presentation booklets from Bhutan and Taiwan, a few small stockbooks, a retired circuit books with Western Europe and then four bundles of "102" cards with Australia, New Zealand, Latvia and Lithuania. Perfect for a nice winter hunting. Estimate = $150.00 $11.00
Worldwide - What glitters isn’t always gold. This collection of collections of stamps, first day covers and "gold" stamps were effectively designed to separate non-collectors from their cash and were all over the place in the late 1970s to the early 1990s. While most collectors steered clear of these promotions, they have gained more acceptance for collectors who want all known cachets for their first day cover collection, or for collectors who can use the stamps at a fraction of their original cost. This battered U-Haul box contains several volumes, including the American Revolution (75 FDCs - Franklin Society), Commonwealth Day 1983 (British Commonwealth stamps), 1977 Queen’s Jubilee and 1978 Coronation Jubilee (stamps, souvenir sheets, White Ace), 1977 Queen’s Jubilee (60 FDC Westminster Society). Gold foil King Tut (only 3), Achievements in Space (Middle Eastern countries x11), Great Firsts in Aviation (Dominica x30), and the cachets for the Story of Canada (13x FDCs). The original cost would have likely approached $1000.00. Estimate = $180.00 $11.00
Worldwide - Latin America - Five collections from the same source, includes Bolivia, Argentina, Mexico (about 1500 stamps), Brazil (1000 stamps) and Haiti (250 stamps). All start in the 19th century, with "hit or miss" at first, then getting stronger once out of the 19th century and each running to about 1980 (give or take a few years). More used than mint, with lots of "back of the book" and a bit of duplication. The collector has added some funny handwritten notes thoughout and there is a batch of "102" cards, souvenir sheets and loose stamps in packs that accompany the offering. Estimate = $250.00 $13.00
Worldwide Covers - Canada, United States, Great Britain and others in a couple of shoe boxes plus some oversized covers which do a good job of filling a bankers box. Includes First Day Covers and First Flight Covers (mostly with cachets), plus commercial mail etc.. Most 1930’s-2005, with many somewhat bundled or organized. Several hundred covers here, plus a bit of ephemera related to 1967 (Expo, Grey Cup ticket stub, etc.). Completely unpicked and offered as received. Estimate = $160.00 $11.00
Worldwide Ephemera - A fascinating small box, filled with a collector's "odds and ends" of (mostly) non-philatelic paper collectables, from across the globe but with a clean Canadian flair. A wild array of material that includes luggage labels, 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition viewbook, Saskatoon 1943 school yearbook, Toronto 1938 CNE Flower Show booklet, Travel Brochures, 1913 Drug Store Almanac, Rowing ribbons, Music / Song Booklets, 1944 Dominion Train schedule, photographs, fishing related booklets, letterheads, 1917 Opening of British Parliament programme, Acadia College 1897 report, Canada WWII patriotic music sheets, RCMP, CPR Railway Canadian Prairies advertising, Hotel Carls- Rite (Toronto) illustrated cover / menu (x2) and a 1910 Bonanza Yukon merchant letter….etc, etc. While we could not name all the contents, take a good look at the photos to get a feel for the scope of the lot. Estimate = $200.00 $12.00
Worldwide Ephemera - Medicine / Perfume / Sewing Advertising Cards. An unusual offering of 53x 1870's / 1880's Medicine advertising cards, neatly arranged on pages from a collection not touched in decades. Most are American, but we did note a couple Canadian examples (or at least from distributers in Canada). Some of the notable companies / adverts are for Carter's Little Liver Pills, Hanson's Magic Corn Salve, Carter's Backache Plasters, Rose's Pharmacy Perfumes (Toronto), Wistar's Balsam, Barry's Tricopherous, Domestic Sewing Machine Company, Burdock Blook Bitters, Ayer's Sarsaparilla etc (to name a few). All seem to be mounted with old hinges, which easily pop the cards off the pages, and can likely be worked off the card with a bit of patience. Great topical value here. Estimate = $140.00 $26.00
Worldwide Literature - Complete 2023 Scott International stamp catalogues, all in very clean, reasonably used condition. There have been no major price changes between the 2023 and current catalogue. As such, this set is still extremely useful for valuing most material and the numbers don't really change. New, these 12 volumes would retail for well over $1,200.00. The Scott catalogue numbering system is the most universally recognized stamp numbering system used today. Estimate = $350.00 $210.00
Worldwide Postcards - Eye-catching early Greetings postcard collection. A visually enticing group of 77 postcards, neatly arranged within plastic postcard-holder sheets and organized by subject. All look to be pre-1920 postcards and include greetings for Valentines, New Years, Thanksgiving, Birthday, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Almost all cards appear to feature young children and would make for a great display on "the joys of childhood". Estimate = $150.00 $22.00
Worldwide Supplies - A rescue kit to help you get through the remaining collecting days of late winter. This bankers box includes six full size stockbooks (including 4 near-new Lighthouse brand and a couple others), plus a pocket sized stockbook. There is a smattering of blank album pages (both 3 and 4 hole), some black stockpages, two Ziploc bags with clear mounts in a range of various sizes (the packages are open, some have one strip left, others are near full). Finishes off with a watermark tray, a partial box of photo corners, a small bundle of "102" cards and a new pair of long, angled, spade tip tongs/tweezers. Massive replacement cost. Estimate = $140.00 $12.00
Worldwide Supplies - Group of 13 stockbooks, including nine 32-page (mostly Lighthouse) stockbooks (5 white pages, 4 black), followed by four 16-page (three are older and a bit battered, but full of stamps). Some are empty, some have a few token stamps, and a few are pretty full. There are some minor cover faults on a couple. With the rise in cost / supply-chain issues, getting reasonably used supplies is a sought-after venture. Estimate = $200.00 $0.00
Worldwide Supplies - Manila Stocksheets. A small box containing 100 lightly / moderately used stocksheets. The standard 3-ring hole punch pages are ready to be given a binder and live another day. The "new" retail cost on these is over $150.00. A very cost-effective way to store your duplicates without having to pay retail for them. Estimate = $80.00 $60.00
Zambia #271a/439. VF mint Never Hinged accumulation, mostly in blocks, and mostly in sets and a few souvenir sheets, with excellent commemorative coverage between 1982-1988 (plus a few older and a few newer), in an older, but still useful 32-page Lighthouse "block" stockbook (4 strips). We did note better singles including the 1985 "Gold" trio. Lots of topical interest such as Scouts, flowers, animals, airplanes, sports, reptiles, fish, trains, etc. Often overlooked at the time but has gained in appreciation in recent years. There are some scattered used singles and souvenir sheets, and many of the partial mint sets are included but not counted in the total catalogue value. 2023 Scott US$653.20 = $881.82 $10.00
