Australia #1/2448 plus Back of the Book. Substantial mint and used collection, mounted on computer generated pages (to 2006) in a large binder. Generally dual pages to 1971 (one page for mint stamps, another for used), and then one set for used stamps afterwards. The strength in this collection is pre-1940 with a good range of used ‘Roos (including a number from the first issue and later printings to 5/-) and King George V "Heads", and a good number of the 1930 commemorative issues. Throughout there is mixed coverage which gets very light after 1990. Many used stamps were selected for their cancels. There is a touch of back of the book including some Antarctic Territory, mint air mails and some postage dues. Lots of catalogue value here. Estimate =

Australia #1/731. Very nice mounted pre-1980 regular issue collection has lots of better and attractive issues throughout, arranged on pages within a well-worn springback album. Mostly used, the collector appears to have gotten the watermarks, perforations and printings correct, with the first ‘Roos to 2/- (and later ‘Roos to 10/-), the good Kookaburra (which is not seen as often as the catalogue value would indicate that it should be). There are lots of King George V "heads" with many socked-on-the-nose cancels, and most of the 1930's commemorative issues (sorry no 5/- Sydney Bridge) and then missing very few issues to 1980. Individual items with catalogue values to $200.00. Expect a bit of mixed condition, but the overall appearance is excellent. Estimate =

Bahamas #11/764. Attractive mounted collection up to about 1980, the first page having a nice assortment of "Chalons" and Queen Victoria side-face issues, collected for shades (we catalogued this first page at $563.00!). Afterwards, there is a mix of mint and used with coverage to varying degrees. Noting some "Seal of the Colony", a used set of the 1935 Silver Jubilee, a complete used set of the 1942 Columbus overprint and then hit or miss coverage through the Elizabethan period. Great for those who love to cherry-pick or want to expand their British Caribbean collection. Estimate =

Barbados #2/836. Used and mint mounted collection of early Barbados (with some QEII material) starting with a couple of attractive pages of the QV "Britannia" issues (page one catalogues over $500.00!). There are later versions of the Britannia design (noted #77 used), with some of the "Nelson", "Seal of the Colony" and "Victory" sets, the 1935 Silver Jubilee set used, and most of the 1938 Britannia set (both mint and used). From 1950 until 1999 it gets progressively lighter in coverage, but there is lots along the way to keep your collection happy! Estimate =

Bermuda #9/133. Twenty-five different mint blocks from the early Queen Victoria to late King George VI period. Includes some cylinder and inscription blocks. Sizes range from 4 to 12 stamps. Most of the stamps are never hinged, with the occasional hinge in the selvedge. Terrific appearance but about half have substantial tropical staining of the gum (most likely due to the acidification of the gum). Two copies of #21 have a strong bend, otherwise the condition is above average. Conservatively catalogued as hinged. 2024 Scott US$825.60 =

Bermuda #14, 15. A used dynamic duo. Two of the three 1875 "One Penny." overprints on the original Queen Victoria definitive issue. Both stamps have light, indistinguishable cancels. The 3d buff has a "Stanley Gibbons" stamp in purple ink on the back and a collector’s initials. The 1/- green has a very light purple ink owner’s stamp. Bermuda #17/23. Seldom seen mint Never Hinged multiples of Queen Victoria Bermuda issues, including three which have cylinder imprints. The 4d orange is the first watermark from 1880, and the balance is from the 1883-1904 definitive set in blocks ranging from four to twenty-four. Outstanding eye appeal and condition, with only the occasional minor fault. Catalogued as hinged, so plenty of upside when looking at the conservative catalogue value. Total 2024 Scott US$1173.00 =

Bermuda #94-97. All four of the King George V "Keyplate" issues from the second watermark (block "CA") released between 1924-1932. Stunning appearance with fresh colours, nice centering and great perforations. The stamps are all hinged, with the 2/6 having a single tone spot on the back and the 10/- with a bit of offset that someone has tried to erase, disturbing the gum. There are shades listed in both Scott and Stanley Gibbons, but we are valuing them at the cheapest version in Scott, so plenty of upside here. 2024 Scott US$590.00 =

Bermuda #114/217. Astonishing, yet decrepit, thick mint sheet file with a holding of mint multiples from blocks up to complete panes of an assortment of issues from 1936-1967, with a range of definitives, commemoratives (saw a few Common Design issues) and overprints. The 2/- includes the "broken lower right scroll" Stanley Gibbons 116ce, catalogues £225.00 (but the block has a bit of flaking, so we have catalogued it as ordinary stamps by Scott). Canada #338a/458b. QEII "Cello-pack" collection and accumulation in two parts. The first is a collection (or possible exhibit) with Wilding packs, mint and used panes, covers and some Christmas panes on manila stock pages. The second is the balance of the holding, including Cameo and Centennial panes and packs. There are some Winnipeg tags, some attempts at pane reconstruction, and even a letter from the post office in 1961 describing the release of the original packs. The mint are mostly never hinged and there is moderate duplication. This is quite an old holding, as far as we know there has been no attempt to identify different papers. The collection ranges from 1870 to 1982, roughly 97% complete in period, and includes coil singles and "back of the book" material. The collection begins with mint and used sets and partial sets including 18 Small Queen issues noting mint 50c Widow Weeds (HR), Jubilees 1/2c to 10c, Leafs and Numerals (noting mint hinged 8c Leaf, and 10c, 20c Numerals), Edwards, Quebecs, and continues with primarily mint sets and partial sets including Admirals (missing 10c blue), Scroll (except 50c used Bluenose), Arch, Medallion (Scott c.v. $263 total), Pictorials, War Issue (c.v. $173 total), Peace, along with Airmails, Postage Dues, Special Delivery, and G overprints. A cursory check of individual stamps noted a few better never hinged stamps with Scott #s 85-88 (c.v. $307 total), 108-109 ($122 total), 115 ($100), 120 ($200), 157 ($120), C1-C4 ($266 total), O25, O27 ($175 total). The consignor's summary notes 1,345 mint stamps (2025 c.v. $15,870), and 359 used stamps (c.v. $819), with $115 of face value postage post 1951. Consignor's 2025 total Scott catalogue value totals US$16,689.00! We note several faults with the early material, along with some mint stamps having no gum, heavy hinging, or other faults up to the Admiral issues, with a mixture of mint hinged and never hinged material post the 1920s. Indonesia - A wide-ranging bundle of mint, starting with a block of 30 of the 60 cent Queen Wilhelmina Netherland-Indies issue with a Japanese occupation overprint. There is a small accumulation of 1949 UPU souvenir sheets including perforated and imperforate, with the regular and overprints for "RIS", "RIS Merdeka" and "RIS Djarkarta". There is a jump to the early 1990's with a number of "new issue" purchases including sets, souvenir sheets and sheetlets still in their original glassine envelopes. Finally, there are 10 blocks of four with the "RIAU" archipelago overprint (these catalogue $140.00). Condition is good, with the backs ranging from never hinged to minor hinge remnants. Estimate =

Worldwide - An odd assortment of worldwide albums in two banker’s boxes. Starts with two 4" Minkus Global Supreme albums, the first is marked as being "South America" (but it includes others), the second is "H" to "U" countries, with strength from Europe (Binders retail about $150.00). There is a trio of Harris binders, with a brown "Worldwide" binder with "E" to "G" countries, with an assortment of album pages with concentrations from Finland, France (with some Colonies) and Germany and a pair of "Senior Statesman" binders, one with "G" to "Z" countries with Europe, Asia and a scattering of British Colonies. The other is "M" to "Z" countries, with Poland and Russia. These albums have large sections with few stamps, and others that are concentrated. Several sections look like they were collections from other sources, rehoused under one binder. This leads to chaos and some duplication, but there has to be some hidden gems amongst the thousands of stamps. Due to its weight, we are recommending this lot for local pickup or relatively close by shipping. Estimate =

Worldwide - Christmas related topical material. Accumulation of roughly 270 worldwide covers and postcards addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole, HoHoHo, with the vast majority of material from Asian countries, notably Taiwan, Japan, China, etc. Reading some of the postcard messages will restore your faith in humanity including from Jack, who says "I've been so good that I should be on the "nice" list"; Amy says "I'm from the tropics, we don't have snow here, can you visit us sometime?"; and one of our favourites from Yu-Mei "Last night I saw you riding on a sleigh and running through a red light. I think you should follow traffic rules even you're so busy". The material appears to be from post 2000's, with a few faults with some of the stamps, and a few corner bends, but a great topical or thematic group. Overall fine to very fine. Estimate =

Worldwide - Eclectic consignment balance of a consignment on a couple of pages, includes Canada #18 (reperforated?), #111a (regummed), a nice used block of 3c imperforate admiral #138, and a page of assorted used from the small queens to the Export dollar. Plus, there is a pane of the 1992 hologram issue with accompanying Bileski letter, from when this pane was believed to be a "low orbit" example, but it doesn’t meet the definition in Unitrade, so a cautionary tale. There is a mint copy of Great Britain Turkish Empire #6 (cat $575, but no certificate), Nevis 25c Official overprint on unwatermarked paper (possibly only 50 sheets produced), a mint copy of Belgium #38 (50c King Leopold III - catalogues $275.00), Diego-Suarez #7 used (small tear - catalogues $200.00). There is a 1952 issued 30p green and red Israel revenue colour error (Bale R3, cat $1000.00 but very small tear at top), and a Ceylon #245 (KGV 50R high value with registered cancel and crayon, but washed out colour - catalogues $1500.00), and finally a touch of early used Fiji QEII. Worldwide - Most of the "end of consignment" boxes that end up getting sold are either banker’s or U-Haul boxes, which may be intimidating to people who aren’t sure if they want that much unsorted material in one go. This lot is in an envelope box, with much of the material in envelopes or on small cards, but don't pay much attention to the cards, as a number have contents which don’t match the outside description. We noted some useful British Commonwealth issues such as Burma, Bahamas and the Caribbean, a wide range of European material as well as bits and pieces from all over. Much seems to have been purchased in the 1990's (some still in original auction/bidboard packaging), so it is mostly 20th century material. Worldwide - Several assorted albums from an estate. Starts with a Japan collection in a near-new narrow Scott Specialty 2-post album with pages to 1966 (a bit sparsely populated but noted some nice back to the 19th century, album alone retails about $140.00). There is a binder with a densely mounted collection of 20th century Europe on homemade pages. Canada is QEII used duplicates on 20 manila stockpages. Getting into material with enormous original cost is a small collection of 1985 "Queen Mum" issues, and a substantial three volume Stanley Gibbons collection of 1981 Charles and Diana issues, with singles, souvenir sheets, sheetlets and some imperforates, etc. - the original retail on these was likely over $2000.00!
