Anti-Bolshevik Expeditionary Corps Souvenir Sheet. VF mint NH example of the 1941 issue WWII French Volunteer Legion F + 100F "Polar Bear" souvenir sheet of one. This sheet was issued to raise funds for the French Legion anti-Bolshevik Expeditionary Corps. In October 1941, the French infantry regiment (638th), 2,452 men strong, crossed the frontier of the Soviet Union as part of the foreign contingent of the German invasion force. Needless to say, not many returned. An evocative piece of WWII ephemera. Light gum bend mentioned for the record, but does not detract from this key-item.
