Eight mint values from the 1902-1907 version of the Pictorial set with watermark 61. This set shows classic New Zealand scenes, such as Mount Cook and Milford Sound, but is notoriously variable in its quality, as different printings were done in London and in New Zealand. The local printings had difficulty getting the perforations, centering and design/ink clarity right, which makes this issue perfect for specialists. This grouping is in far better condition than normally seen, looking very fresh and with hinging varying from small hinge remnants to Lightly Hinged. A couple have small perforation faults or gum bends, but overall a clean offering. There are two shades and two perforations of the 1/- Kea (bird). Counted as the lowest value in Scott.
