Postcard collection of "Western Canada Farming". A total of over 100 postcards, plus several photographs filling a small album. A visually striking group of early farm life in Western Canada, primarily from the 1905-1920 period when many "settlers" came to the West in order to better their lives or provide for their families. A great mix of RPPC (Real Photo Postcards) and printed cards, with only a few that would date post-1920. While many of the photographs are unattributed, the clearly show both the celebrations of life and manually working hardships that often made up life in the Canadian Prairies. A wonderful glimpse into the social history of the time period. Estimate =
