"Postage Stamps of Manchuoukuo" album published in 1940 by the Manchoukuo Postal Society (in English!). Terrific for the stamps, or a contemporary view of the postal service of Japanese-occupied Manchuria. The album was not likely intended to be used as a stamp album, as the stamps are depicted in full colour (no small achievement during the Second World War). The owner added stamps in black mounts right over top of the pictures, but also added additional stamps (usually a used companion) on the page. There are also Scott numbers and values added in pencil throughout. There are some better stamps here such as the first issue, which is mint except for #13 (used). The second issue is complete, but the top value is used and the scarce 15 fen stamp is a space filler. The third issue is mostly used and there are also commemoratives, overprints, airmail, etc. A very good run of a couple of mint (Hinged) and used stamps up to 1939, not missing much. The catalogue value here exceeds US$600.00. Estimate =
