A fascinating clutch of 150 First Day Covers, show / event covers and commercial covers, with some postal stationery from Great Britain, Guernsey and Jersey. Starts with a (damaged) "Penny Black" on a large cover fragment from January 1841 and four pre-#33 "Penny Red" covers. There is a group of commercial and first day covers of the Guernsey occupation issues, the British first day covers are generally cacheted, with some potentially better issued between the 1953 Coronation and the early 1970’s. Noted a £5 Machin and some nice commemorative cancels. Perhaps the most intriguing item is a £5 Traveler’s Check from 1922 for the Bank of Montreal, London with both Canadian and British revenue stamps. Didn’t see anything after 1980. Estimate =
