British Columbia Postal History. BC #7, vertical pair of the 3p blue affixed sideways with each stamp struck with a black ink "4" (Yale) and sent to "Mrs. O’Reilly" in Rock Bay Victoria. There is a light blue ink New Westminster CDS transit cancel (annotated as December 14, 1870) just clear of the stamps. The envelope has an intact embossed red wax seal on reverse, couple edge tears away from stamps and a small corner crease on the lower stamps. A fine and very scarce cover with VF strikes. ex-Wallace collection. Estimate =
