Extensive collection of prolific American postcard artist Ellen Clapsaddle (1865-1934), with 325 mostly different postcards issued 1906 to the start of the Great War. Themes include US Patriotic, Christmas, New Year, Birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Valentines Day, with the classic artistry that defined this genre. Includes a one-page biography of her life, an artist who deserves (in our opinion) more recognition. The cards are a mix of mint and used. There are a few "face similar" cards, but they may be from different printings. The conditions is a bit mixed, but most are eye catching and in great shape. Estimate =
