Royal Visit / Royal Train Holding. An enticing group of 30 covers, primarily from the 1939 Visit (including Newfoundland), but also a few from the 1951 and 1972 visits. We noted both First Day Covers (including better illustrated cachets) as well as "other dates" which can be tracked by date as to what city the Royal Train was in (for example, May 28th 1939, Royal Train at Banff AB). Of particular note are two registered covers, both the English "Royal Train Post Office, Canada" registration box postmark. A very interesting area of Canadian postal history, with enough dates and different postmarks (Flag and CDS / French and English) to keep you busy looking for all the variations. Estimate =
