USA Covers

Navy Covers Part B: Three volume naval post office cancels, mounted on pages and in page protectors, a compendium to the previous lot. Created by a collector in Edmonton in 1968, who wrote every US naval ship that he thought might have a post office and created self-addressed envelopes. The return rate was quite high, and two volumes contain about 410 covers which have a combination of ship name, number and sometimes a rubber stamp or embossed cachet. The third volume has about 155 covers for the Naval support of various Apollo space flight missions with often capsule recovery operations. There is a bit of bonus material, with some of the correspondence from this undertaking, plus about another 50 loose covers (probably duplicated material, and there are a few from non-US countries) and even a touch of ephemera sent by a couple of ships. Total of just over 600 covers with a range of 1-5 covers per ship, likely over 250 different ships. A labour of love, with significant effort to assemble this. Estimate =
