Stupendous looking pair of the 3p Beaver imperf on wove paper, tied to an 1953 cross-border cover front, Montreal LC to Portland Maine. The left hand stamp in the pair has the nearly full "(Raw)don, Wright, Hatch & Edson - New York." printer's inscription in the sheet margin at top (this stamp also has a small sealed tear at top). The pair of Beavers is tied to the front with two strikes of a "21" 4-ring target cancel in black. A great looking piece of early Canadian postal history (even without a back), valued as two used stamps only. 2018 Scott US$450.00=
