Benjamin Franklin Collection. Exceptionally comprehensive collection based in large part on the 1976 Canada/US co-issue. According to the owner's list, the collection includes Canada #691 (Mint pane of 50 and matched set of plate blocks, 15 FDCs including two with both U.S. and Canada stamp, 14 event covers, eg. stamp exhibitions, Kaulbach Island, ship mail, northern explorations). USA #1690 (Mint pane of 50 and complete set of 12 plate number blocks, 35 FDCs, eg. David C, Marj, Ross, Sauter, Farnum, Ardee, Webcraft, Artcraft study group, etc., 26 event covers, eg. historical landmarks, stamp exhibitions, battles, Freedom Train, Ranto cachets, etc.). Great Britain #785 (Bicentennial stamp issued June 2, 1976) Post office presentation cover and three FDCs. The covers are all mounted on 110 pound card stock with clear photo corner mounts and descriptive write-ups. The material listed above all appears in the owner's January, 2017 BNAPS handbook publication "Benjamin Franklin and Postal Services in British North America" but not all of the items shown in the handbook are included in this lot. A true labour of love, well researched and beautifully arranged. Estimate
