Neatly mounted and extensively annotated five page exhibit of the ill-fated TIPEX 1936 cross-border "Zucker" Rocket Mail project, consisting of the stamps and prepared covers associated with this carefully planned, extensively promoted and ultimately unsuccessful series of flights. Six covers and eight different stamps in total. This lot offers excellent examples of material produced during the 1930s "rocket craze". Gerhard Zucker (1908-1985), the rocket's manufacturer, was a very colourful character, as much a fraudster as a rocketeer. Estimate
