Barbados # 5/189, B1/B1a

A spectacular trio of black stockpages with 147 early Barbadian stamps. The "Britannia" issue includes 28 examples of the "Seated Design" with both imperforated and perforated, showing a wide range of perforations (many lightly penciled notes on back), and with a solid mix of mint and used. Includes #38 with a SON CDS cancel, and #79. There is a 1/2p stamp with inverted watermark (unfortunately damaged and not counted). Includes a range of "Badge" or "Seal" of the Colony issues with denominations up to 2/6 and a representation of the Nelson, Victory and 1935 Silver Jubilee. The Kingston "Relief" semi-postal includes regular, inverted overprint and "missing period after 1d". Expect the earlier mint Victorian items to be heavily hinged and the used to have the occasional minor faults here and there. The cancels are particularly nice. Almost no duplication here. 2023 Scott US$1735.30 =
