Germany - Bavaria # 2/71

Not your typical Bavarian offering. A selection of 47 mostly used stamps, issued 1849-1900. The "Broken circle" issue includes a nice copy of #3. There are nine values from the "complete circle" design including #8 (lovely "396" SON cancel) and #13-14. The Coat of Arms set includes a complete imperforate sets and the perforated issues include denominations up to 2m. What makes this lot better than average is the condition is that the early issues have good margins, and only noted the occasional minor fault with the stamps being fresh and the cancels mostly readable. This collection last saw the open market in the early 1970’s. Owner’s 2023 Scott US$1430.90 =
