Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #163c, 186c, 191b. Trio of mint imperforate pairs, with the 1c re-engraved publicity issue showing a map of Newfoundland and Labrador (no gum), followed by the 2c green King George V with a large sheet margin (has staple damage at the extreme left - which could be trimmed), with no gum. Lastly, the 5c Caribou pair has original gum, a small hinge remnant and a nice right side sheet margin. Newfoundland has some relatively inexpensive imperfs which can really jazz up your collection. 2023 Scott US$242.50 =

Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland #183/225. Mint Hinged selection on two stockpages with almost two sets of the 1932 definitive series, a complete mint set of the Sir Humphrey Gilbert set, plus the four intervening stamp issues and the "extra" listed 5c Caribou #191a. This collector was very deliberate with their Newfoundland material and while some of the duplicates are for different perforations (listed in Unitrade), we have valued them as basic stamps by Scott catalogue (so some obvious upside with a Unitrade handy). A very nice mint offering, all hinged, and with great appearance. Total 2023 Scott US$360.75 =

Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland - Exciting balance of a collection on a range of album pages and stockcards. Mostly 20th century and mostly mint. This material was collected with a specialist’s eye, so pay close attention when going through the pictures (some of the material uses very old catalogue numbers that no longer exist). In chronological order, there is a couple of 12c Queen Victoria, ten Newfoundland dogs, a couple of the 1897 Royal Family sets, a smattering of the "John Guy" issue and a nice 6c Francis Bacon (#92). We noted 7 values from the Trail of the Caribou issue, a nearly missing bar on overprint #130, the 1932 Pictorial set (note: a couple are noted as having inverted watermarks, but we disagree) and a mint copy of #224. There are three sets of the 1935 Silver Jubilee and a couple of sets of the "Long Coronation" (look for perforation varieties), most of two sets of the re-issued definitives of 1941 and a bit of airmail and postage dues. Overall condition is above average, with mint stamps with no gum and significantly damaged stamps are inverted. Significant catalogue value and potential here. Estimate =

Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland - Massive Mint and Used Stock. Valuable mint and used stock of thousands, ranging from the first decimal issues of the 1860s up to the last issues of 1947. Not too many complete sets noted but lots of useful singles make this stock well-worth the estimate. Estimate =

China and Area - Starting in 1932, this collector started putting together a collection of early Chinese material. Nicely laid out on quadrilled pages with a combination of typed and handwritten notes, which will help you critically assess some of the potentially better issues here. The China starts back with the Imperial Dragon design with a good number of values from the 1894 Shanghai issue, followed by some Dr. Sun Yat-sen and "Junk" issues, mixed in are some overprints and some "back of the book". The "Area" group includes Hong Kong with a $5.00 King George V that catalogues $77.50 alone. There is a touch of mint Manchukuo and a few labels or local prints. Estimate =

France - Modern Collection. A seldom seen (mostly) 21st century French collection in three albums with Minkus pages (starting in 1996 and runs to 2013). Includes a mix of mostly used stamps (the occasional stamp or souvenir sheet/booklet pane is mint). A bit hit or miss, but if a set was started, it is often complete, but there are small gaps throughout. Some of the used are undoubtedly philatelically inspired, but this is a high catalogue value era, with sets and souvenir sheets often cataloguing $5.00 - $15.00 each. The final album includes "back of the book", such as officials and postage due (but no semi-postals), with a touch of material from the "colonies" which goes back into the early 20th century. About 1500 stamps, with overall condition being excellent. One binder is quite damaged, but the other two "old-school" Minkus binders are okay (one still has its original dust-jacket). Estimate =
