Algeria #B14-B26. F/VF mint Hinged complete set of the 1930 Centenary of French Occupation semi-postal series, with surtax to fund the celebration. A visually enticing set. 2025 Scott US$157.00 = $211.95
History

2
Australia - Bankers box half-filled with a balance of an extensive estate that we have been selling over the past few months. A mix of old and new. There is a bit of unsorted and assorted "States", only a few ‘Roos, and then a small holding of mostly used King George V heads (a couple of the mint indicate that they have inverted watermarks). Some nice cancels and multiples are noted, including a £1 Arms block. Among the decimal era, we noted a mint set of the Explorers, Cook souvenir sheets (regular and ANPEX), plus some mint into the early 1980’s with face values to A$10. This collection has been filled with surprises, so you never know if it has one more trick up its sleeve. Estimate = $140.00
History

3
Australia - The consignor has spoken: Let the rest of it go. A beautiful, mostly mint, collection balance, starting with a few ‘Roos, a few King George V "Heads" to 1/4, the "Melbourne issue", followed by three of the four "Arms" including the £2, the higher values of the Explorer issue (including the 10/-, £1 and £2). There are a dozen different complete booklets including the Prime Ministers. "OS" overprints include a near complete range (either mint or used), plus a couple of blocks and a nice corner block of CO1 (Air mail official). There are a few assorted pieces to entertain you, but of much less value. Estimate = $200.00
History

4
Australia - The last of a postage due holding, starts with the first issue of 1902 (blank panels at the bottom) in a complete set of seven, overprinted "Specimen" (the 6d and 8d hinge remnant, the rest lightly hinged, Stanley Gibbons catalogue £350). The rest of the holding is mostly red and green dues including two pages of a Stanley Gibbons album, followed by a mint and used selection on dealer and stock cards. Offered as received. Estimate = $160.00
History

5
Austria - A "back of the book" holding, with a few post-war regular issues thrown in, all tucked into a 1" 3-ring binder. Includes lots of semi-postals (mostly mint, up to 1976), airmails, postage dues, newspaper, a bit of occupation overprint and some Bosnia and Herzegovina. Several hundred stamps, with a bit of duplication. Much of the material is in old, clear mounts which are not always holding the stamps as was intended, which is the only downside to this nice lot. Estimate = $150.00
History

6
Barbados #12/180, MR1. A mixed batch of 16 mostly mint (or unused) classics up to 1927. Starts with an attractive used copy of #12 with a nearly complete "1" numeral cancel (perfs are trimmed a bit on the left side, but catalogues $800.00). The balance is an assortment of attractive mint hinged (a few have no gum) singles (these catalogue $330.70). Total 2024 Scott US$1130.70 = $1,526.45
History

7
Barbuda #1-11. Complete mint Hinged set of the 1922 George V "BARBUDA" overprinted Leeward Island issues. The set represents the only pre-Elizabeth era series from this British Crown Colony, with the next set not being issued until 1968! 2024 Scott US$179.00 = $241.65
History

8
Belgian Congo #14/129 plus Back of the Book. An unexplored dealer’s stockbook with a decent offering of 1890's-1928 issues, both mint and used, with 1-15 examples of most. The mint is fresh and hinged, the used are often selected for the quality and readability of their cancels, including many from smaller communities. A quick check showed individual stamps with catalogue values up to $20.00 each, and the total catalogue value will climb quickly, as there are a few hundred stamps here. The only downside is that this 16-page Uni-Safe stockbook has been dropped a couple of times. We have somewhat successfully got most of the material back to where it should be, but more organizing will be required. You don’t see lots like this anymore! Estimate = $200.00
History

9
Belgium #1/497. Retired Circuit Book Holding. A mint and used selection of 97 stamps from the 1849-1956 period, spread out on pages within 6 retired APS circuit books. Includes many better individual items such as #Q15, 71, 75, 89 (all mint hinged). Expect the odd fault and a bit of duplication, but a well above-average holding, perfect for either the collector or dealer looking to enhance their holdings. 2025 Scott US$3961.65 = $5348.20 CDN. Estimate = $400.00
History

10
Belgium #106. The 1931 Philatelic Exhibition Prince Leopold 2.45fr + 55c semi-postal souvenir sheet, in VF MNH condition. Cancelled in the margin with the special Exposition postmark (Scott footnotes says to consider sheets with this postmark as unused). Note the usual small handling bends, as are often found on these sheets. A key semi-postal sheet, very scarce this nice. 2024 Scott US$650.00 = $877.50

11
Belgium - Accumulation from a collector who knew what they liked. From the second King Leopold I design, there are 21 used, imperforate, copies of the 10c brown and 14 of the 20c blue (unchecked by us). These are followed by a used example of #213, a couple of examples of B27 and a bit faulty (but never hinged and uncancelled) souvenir sheet B178. The other obsession was the 1957 semi-postal set #B599-604 for which there are 29 sets and 5 presentation folders. Lots of catalogue value here. Estimate = $160.00
History

12
Bermuda #1/141. Collector's accumulation of 114 different stamps from the QV to George VI era, with both mint and used, neatly arranged and identified on three stockpages. Expect the mint to be hinged and a few small faults (short perfs etc). A lovely offering, which includes the popular George V era "ship" issues, Omnibus including the 1948 Royal Wedding set (with the £1.00 value) and George VI Key Plates. 2025 Scott US$2640.90 = $3,565.20
History

13
Bermuda #28-39. Complete mint Hinged set of the 1902-1903 / 1906-1910 "Ship at Dry Dock" design series. A very popular set, the first pictorial series from this British Crown Colony. 2024 Scott US$229.60 = $309.95

History

15
Bermuda #123var. Lovely mint hinged example of the 2/- King George VI "Keystone" issue with Stanley Gibbons listed constant plate flaw "Gash in Chin" from position R2/5 that existed on two printings, this being the later perforation 14, regular paper from 1943. A fresh mint example with a small hinge remnant. Noted listed in Scott catalogue, but listed in Gibbons as #116df. 2021 Stanley Gibbons £850.00 = $1,520.85
History

16
Bosnia and Herzegovina #30d/42f. Two pages with two groups of "Compound" perforations on the 1906 "Scenery" commemoratives, where sheets contained two or three different gauges of perforations within each sheet, giving many unusual combinations. These are listed in Scott Classic (among others). The first page has 8 used and 1 mint example from the "f" family (perf 9-1/4 and 6-1/2) while the second page has 16 examples from the "d" family (perf 6-1/2, 9-1/4 and 12-1/2). Where there is duplication, it is because the various perforations are on different sides of the stamps. The perf 6-1/2 is notorious for being blunted, and two examples are not counted because of damage. Otherwise, a very presentable group. Total 2021 Scott Classic US$696.25 = $939.94
History

17
Bosnia and Herzegovina #44c/44i. Four used examples of the 2k "St Luke’s Campanile" denomination of the 1906 "Scenery" issue each with a different compound perforation. These stamps were created by sheets that had two or three different gauges of perforations that were used within each sheet and in different combinations in different printings. These are listed in the Scott Classic catalogue. This lot includes nicely used examples of #44c, 44d, 44f, and 44i with various combinations of four different perforation gauges. Total 2021 Scott Classic US$590.00 = $796.50
History

18
Bosnia and Herzegovina #45i. Attractive mint, hinged copy of the 5k "Emperor Franz Josef" high value of the 1906 "Scenery" issue, with each of the three different perforations on a single stamp. These "compound perforation" stamps were created by sheets that had two or three different gauges of perforations that were used within each sheet and in different combinations in different printings. These are listed in the Scott Classic catalogue. This example has sides with perf 9-1/4, 10-1/2 and 12-1/2). 2021 Scott Classic US$625.00 = $843.75

British Commonwealth - A diverse estate balance doing a decent job to fill a bankers box, about half is loose material on album pages, stock cards and in glassines. Includes an interesting holding of Heligoland (British colony in Germany, notorious for forged and reprinted stamps), noted some Caribbean, including classic Bahamas and newer St-Kitts overprints and Specimens. There is some overprints for Middle Eastern colonies and some Aden issue, some Guyana independence overprinted issues that may hold some interest and there is some modern African imperfs and gold foil issues. The second half of the box is a trio of "open face" red dealer’s boxes with "102" cards, probably a couple thousand in total with a mix of mint and used, mostly common material, but with the occasional better item. Lots of digging and sorting here. Estimate = $250.00
History

20
British Commonwealth - A duo of Solomon Islands and Gilbert and Ellice Islands accumulations on pages, dealer cards and glassines, with overlapping, mostly mint, holdings. Includes some nice definitives, minor errors, common design issues and sporadic commemorative issues into the 1980’s. Best is King George VI to early Elizabethan era. A bit of duplication to be expected and lots of stamps in the $5.00-$20.00 range. Overall, the condition appears quite nice. Estimate = $200.00

A nice little bundle. Estimate = $200.00

Many countries seen here including mounted collections of Fiji, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, Aitutaki and Samoa, with a nice group of New Zealand postal fiscal "Arms" overprinted "Niue", with many other island groups represented to a lesser extent. An interesting offering. Estimate = $250.00

British East Africa #17e. Striking used perforated pair, imperforate between, of the 1893 issued 2-1/2 Anna black on yellow "Light and Liberty" design. Each stamp has a December 20, 1893 Mombasa squared circle cancel, issued only a couple of months before. An attractive Victorian-era rarity, as apparently only 90 pairs are possible. Three owner’s marks on the back. Listed in Stanley Gibbons (#7cc £450.00). 2021 Scott Classic US$550.00 = $742.50

This is followed by a mint 15c grey-violet (original gum, a bit off-centre with a hinge remnant), and an interesting ink blob in the lower right "5". The last stamp is the 15c grey with "very thick paper" on deep violet with a nice socked on the nose "Ottawa" grid cancel, but with a thin. Total 2024 Scott US$4325.00 but because of the condition issues we are going to put an estimated value on this group. Estimate = $240.00

History

40
Canada #37, 41. Choice selection of 1034x 3c Small Queens, all selected for postmarks arranged on "Viking Album" quadrille pages. A stunning offering, which looks to be either arranged by town / city or by year / month dates (many of these look to be the arrangement of a "calendar" collection). Lots of better CDS postmarks here, with the majority being dated examples. An excellent opportunity for future study. Mostly eastern Canadian towns / cities, with a few pages of "corks" or other postmarks included as well. Take a good look at the pictures to appreciate the time and effort put into creating this stellar offering. Estimate = $300.00

A copy of the original post office letter is included, with the notations: "make any use of this sheet" and "no necessity for returning any of these stamps". This copy has a readable cancel and a full backing of original gum, with a touch of mounting at the side (the letter mentions that the sheet had some separation that might need repairing). Estimate =

Expect the odd fault and a bit of duplication, but a well above-average holding, perfect for either the collector or dealer looking to enhance their holdings. 2025 Scott US$3961.65 = $5348.20 CDN. Total 2021 Scott Classic US$696.25 =

Estimate =
