Many better stamps here, with both regular and "back of the book" issues, that include individual catalogue values up to US$225.00 (Scott). 319
Poland #61/3195. A pair of "Kodak" boxes filled with #8 envelopes with an accumulation of regular-issue Polish stamps from the early issues up to 1994. A quick glance indicates that the material is primarily used, with some light duplication, cancel potential along with a few thousand stamps. After you are done with the stamps, you can sell the envelopes to a Canadian collector, as there are many window envelopes from small Canadian companies (most 1960s-70s) along with a number of unused CN Telegram envelopes. Offered as received. Estimate = $140.00

History

324
Seychelles #31b. Mint Hinged printing error of the 1901 3c revaluation "doubling" on the 1890 Queen Victoria 36c "Keystone" issue. Either the first pass through the press produced quite a light, incomplete overprint and was run through a second time OR when the press was releasing on the first pass air pressure differences caused the sheet to flutter back up to the press (which had less ink, and much less pressure), resulting in a kiss print. Either way an attractive variety. Unobtrusive, hinge remnant. 2024 Scott US$950.00 = $1,282.50

325
South Africa and Area - Retired Circuit Book Holding. A premium holding of 294 stamps, sporadically arranged over 7 retired APS circuit books. Expect a bit of duplication and the odd small fault, but overall a very clean offering. Part of much larger group of circuit books we are offering either as individual countries, or balance lots in this sale. 2025 Scott US$2747.00 = $3708.45 CDN. Estimate = $250.00

327
Straits Settlements #7. Mint Hinged example of the key-value 1867 issued 12c red overprint on India 4a green Queen Victoria, from the first set of this Malayan colony. Comes with a bit of heavy hinging and minor aging (not surprising, since the stamp is from a tropical climate and is over 150 years old). Two separate owner’s marks are on the back. A lovely stamp. 2024 Scott US$1600.00 = $2,160.00

Switzerland #41/381 plus Back of the Book. Retired Circuit Book Holding. Selection of 168 mint and used stamps from the 1862-1960 period, arranged in 2 retired APS circuit books. Plenty of "meat on the bone" in this selection, which has a clean emphasis on "back of the book" issues, especially semi-postals. Expect a bit of duplication, the mint to be hinged and the odd small fault, but overall a clean offering. 2025 Scott US$3419.05 = $4615.70 CDN. Estimate = $300.00

Switzerland Literature - VF clean example of "Switzerland 1854-1863, The Imperforate Sitting Helvetia, Strubel" by Herbert Brach (2000 published, 277 pages with maps / illustrations in colour). A very useful and specialized book (in English), featuring colour plates of stamps and covers from this complicated stamp issue. We couldn't find another example for sale online, and likely had a very high original purchase price. Estimate = $120.00

331
Thailand - The balance of a dealer’s holding that we have been auctioning over the past year. This group includes a large handful "102" cards, a bundle of album pages from several collections with a range of stamps on them (from "picked" to "untouched") and a bit of material sorted on stock cards. The final envelope has some "older new issues" in their original glassines. This material is mostly used, especially amongst the pre-1975 material. Expect some duplication. Estimate = $100.00
History

332
Turkey #14/1281. First century of Turkish issues neatly mounted in a springback binder on blank pages. Starts with a good range of early overprints, perforations with a number having nice cancels. Better includes the 1913 star overprinted set, the 1915 25pi overprints, with a good range of the provisional overprints as well as the 1919 Armistice overprints. The better issues continue into the 1920’s with the 2nd Izmir Exhibition and the new currency issues to 50k. The 1930 Railway opening set is mint as is the 1931-1944 definitives. Not much "back of the book" here amongst the several hundred stamps. The early issues are predominantly used, the later mint. Significant catalogue value here. Estimate = $300.00
History

333
Turkey - Five volume accumulation, the balance of an estate. This collector enjoyed the purchasing of lots in quantities that exceeded his ability to process them. This is a group of five purchases from different sources with varying degrees of collectability. Mounted collections and stockbooks with a mix from the earliest issues up to about 1990 (but overall strength appears to be pre-1940). This collector had an eye for good deals and better material, so there is a good chance that there are better items hiding here. One of the hidden gems is the sparsely populated Minkus album with pages to 1963 that is in excellent condition, including the dust cover (which we seldom see in this condition). Estimate = $180.00
History

334
USA #117. F/VF mint Lightly Hinged example of the 1869 issued SS Adriatic 12c green commemorative, with a nice clean grill and the usual yellowish crackled gum (and about as lightly hinged as you are likely to find). This was the largest ship in the world at its launching and the pride of trans-Atlantic travel at the time. Better than average perforations, and just a touch off centre. This is a 19th century American beauty. 2024 Scott US$1850.00 = $2,497.50
History

335
USA #239. Fine mint Hinged example of the 30c orange brown "Columbus at La Rabida" from the 1893 Columbian series. Deep rich colour, a very pretty stamp. 2024 Scott US$225.00 = $303.75

USA - Philatelic Follies and First Day Covers in a U-Haul box. Two binders of 22k foil "Proof replicas" of the stamp as part of the cachet on First Day (or Commemorative) covers. About 40 different covers, a bit later than normally seen (late 1980s-mid-1990s) as most collectors had given up on the investment quality of these products (original cost over US$400.00). Next up is a commemorative folder for the Statue of Liberty, followed by a 1977-78 "Fleetwood" commemorative cover collection honouring America’s First Ladies (usually with a stamp depicting their husbands!), and a 1983 complete set of 93 covers honouring the "Proudest Americans" (cost US$300.). Returning to more conventional philately are three cover albums with about 100 mostly cacheted FDCs and commemorative covers from 1948-1982 (most Artcraft but includes others). Estimate = $150.00

338
USA - Two-volume USA collection of mint / used from the 1860's to 1989. A solid "foot in the door" collection, arranged within a Harris brand album (with added mounts) to 1983, then in a Lighthouse hingeless album to 1989. Several better items of note, including many of the 1920's era commemorative issues (mostly mint hinged), 1938 "Prexie" set (mint hinged, with $5.00 value used), "back of the book" (including airmails) and "Farley" imperforate sheets. Expect much of the earlier material to be hinged, transitioning to never hinged in the more modern. The post-1950 face value alone adds up to US$234.15. A perfect candidate to build upon, or amalgamate with your current collection. Estimate = $300.00

USA and Possessions - If you have been following the sale of American material in the past few months, you will recognize the source of this material, as this is the final box from this terrific estate. In three parts which fill a bankers box. The lower layer is large pieces with high denomination stamps used to a stamp dealer in the late 1990’s, with lots of souvenir sheets, sheetlets and higher value items. The second part is a mixed holding of US possessions, include Puerto Rico, Cuba, Philippines, Canal Zone etc. And the last part is a touch of American material, the only special piece is a trio of Air Mails in plate blocks of six that were bought at the height of the investment era. At the estimated value, you will be paying far less than a previous owner did 40 years ago. Sorting, soaking and searching will result from purchasing this lot. Estimate = $180.00
History

340
USA Covers - Bankers box of roughly 1,500 United States first day covers, ranging from the 1940s onwards, noting many with private cachets, along with a few hand drawn, and signed cachets by the designer. Almost each cover is sleeved and have retail pricing and APO identification numbers (ranging from APO 3/955, noting various censor tapes, handstamps, postmarks, etc. Retail prices in excess of $2,400. It should be noted, these retail prices are actually the price a collector paid in acquiring the material, as opposed to remainder dealer stock. A nice group for any military collector. Estimate = $350.00
History

342
USA Covers - Navy Covers Part A: Four volume naval post office cancels on cover, mounted on pages and in page protectors. Created by a collector in Edmonton in 1968, who wrote every US naval ship that he thought might have a post office and created self-addressed envelopes. The return rate was quite high, and these covers have a combination of ship name, number and sometimes a rubber stamp or embossed cachet. Total of about 754 covers, most with two examples per ship (so over 350 different ships are here). A labour of love, with significant effort to assemble this. Estimate = $240.00
History

343
USA Covers - Navy Covers Part B: Three volume naval post office cancels, mounted on pages and in page protectors, a compendium to the previous lot. Created by a collector in Edmonton in 1968, who wrote every US naval ship that he thought might have a post office and created self-addressed envelopes. The return rate was quite high, and two volumes contain about 410 covers which have a combination of ship name, number and sometimes a rubber stamp or embossed cachet. The third volume has about 155 covers for the Naval support of various Apollo space flight missions with often capsule recovery operations. There is a bit of bonus material, with some of the correspondence from this undertaking, plus about another 50 loose covers (probably duplicated material, and there are a few from non-US countries) and even a touch of ephemera sent by a couple of ships. Total of just over 600 covers with a range of 1-5 covers per ship, likely over 250 different ships. A labour of love, with significant effort to assemble this. Estimate = $240.00

344
Vietnam - An accumulation running the length of its tumultuous 1950's to 1970's period, with various issues from the Republic and Democratic Republic with a few post-war issues and a bit of "back of the book". Bought in the early 1980s when philatelic references of this period were lagging, leading to a bit of chaos. There are three main collections, plus a series of dealer cards and approval pages that go into this lot. Includes some primitive war-time printings, lots of overprints, with individual stamps having up to $20.00 catalogue value. Some minor duplication, and the potential for hidden diamonds here. Estimate = $150.00
History

345
Worldwide - "Calling All Classic Collectors!" Duo of old-time albums that will be music to the ears of any collector of early worldwide material. A mix of both mint and used material, neatly arranged (and easily removeable) from almost entirely the pre-1900 period. The first album is an "Oppen's Postage Stamp Album" circa 1885, with 901 stamps spanning the globe, in which we we noted particular strength in Canada, British Commonwealth and South America (note, there is a wonderful looking page of Brazil "Bull's Eye" stamps, but likely early forgeries). The second album is a Scott "International Postage Stamp Album, Nineteenth Century" with 1391 stamps, again with strength in British Commonwealth and South America. While the odd small fault is to be expected, the vast majority of the stamps held within these albums look to be sound, choice examples. Some countries are vacant, perhaps removed decades ago to start the original collector's individual country collections. Offered as received, an excellent opportunity for the "classics" collector. Estimate = $650.00
History

346
Worldwide - A "Home Depot" box with very diverse contents for those who like to make sense out of lots that make no sense. Includes several British "Royal" collections, back to QEII Jubilee, marriage of Charles and Diana, birthdays of the Queen Mum. This transitions to a topical collection of aircraft on about 25 Vario-brand stockpages, a collection of "Silhouettes and Profiles" and another of "Cave Art". A binder of Belgium on stockpages goes back to the first issues, and there is even a matted print of "Postage Stamps of Foreign Countries". Estimate = $130.00
History

347
Worldwide - Asia Accumulation. Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam stock of hundreds of mostly mint, with large quantities of complete sets and some blocks, including a bit of back of the book. The last page is housed with a bunch of "North" Vietnamese issues including those that weren’t listed in Scott at the time. This stock is all pre-1970 and housed in a manila paged "Elbe" stockbook and is intact as was purchased over 40 years ago. Has been supplemented with a small handful of more contemporary issues from these same countries. Underappreciated in their day, these stamps have been tremendously appreciated (by both collectors and catalogue editors) in more recent years. Estimate = $150.00
History

348
Worldwide - Balance of a dealer’s estate, with material written up over 30 years ago. There is a good handful of 1950's-1960's complete Canadian booklets, Canada # E3, Newfoundland airmail trio, with lots of British Commonwealth sets and singles (best is Middle East overprints and some Caribbean), and finishing with a bit of United States (note a WWI Thrift Card with a single 25c stamp). A bit of duplication, some mixed condition. Estimate = $140.00
History

349
Worldwide - Baltic Nations. Estonia, Latvia and (to a lesser extent) Lithuania accumulation, from an extensive estate. Have no fear, there are still lots of goodies here, as this collector was only interested in quality material. The other thing that he also liked was to buy in quantities that exceeded his ability to process it, so there are auction, bidboard and dealer purchases that are still as they were originally purchased 40+ years ago, with very little material from the past 25 years. Each country has a decent basic collection, with more used than mint, and lots of town cancel interest. There is a bit of duplication, and a couple of souvenir sheets. Most are from the inter-war period, with only a bit from the post-USSR breakup. Hours of exploration here. Estimate = $250.00
History

350
Worldwide - Bankers box of wonder. We are calling it that because we are wondering how such a diverse group of material ended up in a single box. There is an intriguing handful of very old approval type booklets with worldwide, including lots of Europe (and specifically post-war mint French semi-postals). There are a few stockbooks of various sizes, conditions and contents, including German States and Canada, followed by some loose album pages that include Papua New Guinea stamps and stationery from the 1980s. All the previously mentioned, plus more, as we tried fighting our way to the bottom of the box. Estimate = $180.00
